  1. For crying out loud, let's not make this more than it is. Let these young men finish their senior year with no regrets, which they probably would have had they not played. Unless they are beaking any rules, which they are not, this is nobody's business but Ezell's and the kids involved. I hardly think this will ruin anybody's life, and to compare this with employers, employees, and marriages is a little far-fetched. Hoopsmom, Goodpasture is certainly a good team, but probably is one of 3 or 4 teams that will contend for the district title. I'm not an Ezell guy, but when Antoine, AJ, and Austin get their legs back, Ezell will be a team with which to be reckoned.
  2. Was this the first full game Antoine, AJ and Austin played in since coming back? I'm not an Ezell guy, but when these guys get their legs back, Ezell will be a team with which to be reckoned. Also, hats off to Jacob Burney.
  3. The true mark of a genius is being able to spell words many different ways. "Ubiased" could also be spelled "unbiased".
  4. Robjim, the reason I haven't responded is that I was enjoying the ubiased objectivity from CDS. Obviously Ezell has to be there.
  5. Coach15, are you saying that all games postponed from this past Friday night are going to be made up on Saturday January 25? Aren't the makeup dates decided by the host team, with input from the visiting team? Just curious.
  6. Travis Sikes from CPA has to be considered. He was a great playmaker at WR and DB this past year. Also, Brandon Fisher(CPA) made some great plays at DB with interceptions and open field tackles.
  7. It was in the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Saturday edition. Did not make the Tennessean. CPA won 53 to 51. For CPA, Sikes 18, Corder 14, Williams 7, House 6, Price 6, Ferrell 2. For Grace Baptist, Quigley 2, Lyons 6, Smith 8, Freeman 17, Horton 11, Parson 7. CPA got schooled by Tennessee Temple on Saturday 72 to 44. Temple has unbelievable outside shooters and great defensive quickness.
  8. Eagletime, CPA beat a good NCS basketball team at their place 52 to 43. NCS is a good team that will beat a lot of folks this year. Which team do you follow?
  9. Travis Sikes from CPA needs to be in here somewhere.
  10. Corder plays post at 6'4", with Williams, Sikes, House, and Brewer in the 6"2" to 6'3" range.
  11. I think the CPA boys should have a solid basketball team this year, and has the potential to be the most successful boys BB team that CPA has put on the court. They return a solid nucleus of players in Andrew House, Clinton Corder, Travis Sikes, Ward Brewer, Wes Williams, and Zach Ferrell. Unfortunatly, Eric Holt was injured during the football season and may not get to play. They are very well coached by Ken Brooks. The schedule is posted on the CPA website of www.christpres.org, by following the links to athletics, then to schedules. Hope that helps!
  12. Congrats Antoine. I wish you much success as a Blue Raider!
  13. Appreciate it, ELA. I know this isn't life or death, but since it's high school football in Tennessee, it's right behind God, Family, Friends and Country! I appreciate your deliberate wisdom. Have a great Christmas!
  14. ELA and Bighurt, thanks. I already have a copy of the game from TV, and so does our coach. It's just that a copy from a copy wouldn't be as good as a copy from an original. I tried to call the TSSAA this afteroon, but they are closed until Jan 2. Our coach did call the TSSAA earlier to get one, unsuccessfully. I guess a coach has to use his own intuition about how far to push anything with the TSSAA. Oh well, as granny used to say, "Beggars can't be choosers". We'll make do with what we have. Appreciate your input.
  15. ELA, thanks for your reply. I saw the order form on the TSSAA web site a few days ago and ordered a video, and am OK with a mid to late February delivery for my personal copy. However, this does not help the coaches who need this video now to help promote their kids who have a shot at the next level. Weren't the coaches supposed to get a copy really soon from the TSSAA after the championship games, and if so, what's the holdup? I guess I'm asking you because you seem to have a lot of knowledge concerning high school football in Tennessee, and how the TSSAA works.
  16. ELA, back on 12/8 you posted a message on this thread that stated the TSSAA would make available a copy of the championship game tape "very soon" to the high school coaches who coached in these games. Well, they haven't done it yet, and my son's coach has been somewhat frustrated in his attempts to get one. I heard the coaches were to get a copy of the tape the Tuesday after the Blue Cross Bowl. My son has been fortunate enough to get some interest from college recruiters, and this may have been his best game ever. A copy of this tape would be very helpful, as decisions on kids are being made now. If I can't video this game on my own, the TSSAA needs to get this tape to the coaches NOW. What could possibly be the holdup?
  17. While looking at the web site for the Tn Football Coaches Association All-State Team (www.tnfca.org), I found it somewhat odd that the 5A runnerup Riverdale has no one on this all state team in the 5A classification. Also, the 1A champion CPA has no one on this team in the 1A classification, while other teams in 1A have anywhere from 2 to 4 players on the all-state team. Just wondering what criterion the coaches use to vote with.
  18. Is the Tn Football Coaches Assn poll the same is the AP poll?

    cpa over ncs

NCSfan, my son mentioned that NCS is great about the food provided to teams that play NCS. Both at last night's BB game and at the football game earlier this fall, he mentioned you all treated them great. I wish I could say that the pizza was all eaten by the players. A few hungry parents got into the act (maybe it was just me). Thanks for your class and hospitality.
  20. I see absolutely NO reason why the TSSAA should not allow video cameras for the championhship games. Even though they will make videos of the games available for sale at a later date, game tapes need to be going out NOW to college coaches for any college prospects. Will their tape show the seniors being introduced on the field? Probably not. Did we have time to go to our cars to get our cameras after the game to show coaches talking to the players in the locker room? No. I cannot imagine anyone not buying the TSSAA video tape because it should be professionally done, unlike home videos. The TSSAA has bigger fish to fry than this. Shame on them for this incredibly stupid, selfish rule.
  21. Coach David Pack of CPA (and his staff) has to be in the mix. He takes a team that starts 0-3, then makes drastic changes in the team makeup due to injuries, and admitedly having players out of position, and finishes out undefeated with the 1A title. He's not afraid to admit mistakes, makes very good gametime adjustments, and prepares his teams very well.
