Any news on the Cleveland/Ooltewah match???

We may need it. I was a bit shocked by the result with Baylor. Of course, i know nothing about Alcoa--so maybe i shouldnt be suprised. I just hope the Cherokees play well and i hope Mother Nature is kind.

It just didnt seem the same today at the Chattanooga playday without seeing Hiko there. I sure missed seeing his smiling face.

Station Camp played better than the score indicates. The keeper was credited with only 4 saves, according to TSSAA.org. Not sure who kept those stats, but they were WAY off. Good luck to Lady Bison as they move up in classification.

There is a GREAT photo in the DPA (local paper dailypostathenian.com) that shows the play. If anybody was doing any plowing, it was #10 Williams for CC. The picture shows her hitting Taylor. The ball was going in anyways. Great effort by CC. Best of luck next year in your new District. How do you know that Brother Bobby will pack the Back. He may go CRAZY and throw #'s forward!!

Let me just say this, as i am known to chime in from time to time. I feel the officials are TOO QUICK to pull the RED!!. They get to toss a kid and then, as far as i know--and i will stand corrected if i am wrong-- its over for them. McMinn had a player tossed last weekend at the tournament. I am the one who had to console (sp--I teach AG and US, not english) the young lady, I am the one who had to discuss it with the team, I had to sit in the meeting with this player and the AD. What did the Ref get to do? Nothing. He tosses a kid out, yells halfway across the field that he saw her elbow the opposing player in the face. (which i asked the player after the match and she told me that she did not feel as if my player did it intentially (again sp). So again, his part of the equation is OVER. Perhaps they should be the ones who has to console the player(s), explain it to the parents, and meet with the AD!! Then maybe they wouldnt be so quick to toss someone out of a match for a "questionable striking" of another player!! Thats my story and i am sticking to it!!

McMinn just hopes that CCS leaves it "all on the field" with ND. So perhaps that they will b tired for their match at McMinn on Thursday. Perhaps would give the Lady Cherokees a chance.

No one likes kissing their sister. I am like everyone else, we have "packed it in"--as we will for our Heavily favored opponents in the future. Yet i think for soccer to advance in TN, we have to start playing to WIN!!. Fans dont appreciate the tie. Plus PK's would give our kids a chance to "rehearse it", before the post season. You can "rehearse it" all you want in practice--i have had many 3 o'clock All Americans, who have "choked" when the pressure in on. Thats all i have to say about that.

I would like to see TN do what GA does. In Region (or in our case District) matches, the game goes straight to PK's to decide the winner. Not a great way to decide a winner, but at least there is one!

That video is one of the funniest things i have ever seen!! Holy Cow. And its not just the girl getting hit, its also the girl beside her with the sign, who shows NO concern and continues to try to hand the sign to someone else. Thanks for the laugh!

I had heard that Chatt Central will be going with the rest of their district. Any news on that??

Word is that District 5AAA and 6AAA will be combining into 1 District--9 Teams. Wow.

I have a player who will be getting a cast on her arm Wednesday. Can someone please tell me the ruling? I know she has to have a Dr note. What is the requirement on teh padding?? thanks

Oskie1, It is easy for you to question Bo; especially when you dont know the whole story. Also, this is not the 80's anymore. The problem Coaches face today, more then back in your day, is that people (Parents, family, etc) are telling players how great they are and how stupid the coaches are--and the kids start believing that kind of CRAP. I think Bo is trying to teach a lesson to both those boys and the rest of his team!!!!! Keep it up Bo, we are behind you and the Cherokees!

Please come by anytime. We play this thursday 9/11 6pm, 9/18 6pm, 9/23 5:30pm, and will be hosting our annual tournament Sept 27 and 28th. We are offering FREE admission on the opening match Sept 11th.

The Lady Cherokees are young. Only 4 Seniors (3 of which are starters). We start about 6 freshman/sophomores each match. Started the season out with the Bearden tournament--not a brilliant way for a coach to start the season. But we are showing signs of improvement and hope to be peaking in October. The boys--we look good on paper. Returning most of last years team. But boys will be boys; so you never know.

For anyone in the Athens area on Thursday. McMinn County will be opening its brand new soccer complex this Thursday. It is located on 204 McMinn Avenue--approx 2 miles from the MCHS campus. So please come out at 5:30 and see our new complex. Not everything is quite complete--no lights and scoreboard just yet--but we are very proud of the work we have done and would like everyone to see it.

I believe that SEVERAL players from the 2007 Red Bank team, are now at Signal Mtn. Just word around the campfire.
