    D-II 2A

DII-West tennessee has two players that I know of that are being heavily recruited. One is Todd Cox at Harding Academy and the other is Michael Oher at Briarcrest Christian. I'm sure Christian Brothers has some guys who are getting looks. Both have been offered by just about every major division 1 college in the country. I am not sure about middle and east tennessee.

FYI: Harpeth Hall is playing SBEC. That stands for Southern Baptist Educational Center. That's the school that is located just across the Mississippi state line. SBEC has a three good players. They play hard but have no bench. HH should win.

  6. Are there any internet broadcasts or real time score posting on the TSSAA web site? Or anywhere?
  7. What about the best? In the Memphis Area it would have to be the region tournament at Briarcrest. Last Saturday it was subs from Jersey Mike's. Monday = fried chicken Tuesday = BBQ Wednesday = Taco Bell And last night they had fried catfish, hush puppies, and seafood gumbo. Can't wait to see what they have for tonight and tomorrow night.
  8. Here is a link to the Division II West Regional. Updated as of Thursday, 2/26. Division II West Regional Tournament

  10. One reason why you don't hear much about Memphis/Shelby County schools on coacht is b/c not many of us log onto the site everyday. We have other things to do. The Commerical Appeal does have a tough time b/c they have to cover all of Shelby County, some of Tipton County, West Memphis,AR, and several schools in North Mississippi. So someone is going to get left out and it's going to be rural West Tn b/c of their smaller populations, in my opinion. One player from urban West Tn to consider: DE-Corey Mills-CBHS
  11. For the Memphis/Tipton County area schools, one of the best environments is Covington High School. Nothing like a small town. But for facilities, Briarcrest has one of the best. Probably one of the best in the state. They host the Spring Fling Track & Field. Here is a picture of the stadium. The bottom of the picture is the locker room for both teams. The building on the other side of the field has bathrooms and concessions. And above those is a "Sky Box" that overlooks the field. The big building at the top is the new high school campus.
  12. Having a band at a game makes a big difference. They perform to their best and do generate energy. However, my only complaint is having a flag thrown on you b/c the band takes too long in their halftime performance. We had that this year. It was homecoming. The band waited until after the homecoming ceremonies to perform the SAME routine that they had done all year long. It costed us 10 yards on the kick-off and we were receiving the kick. There will always be some annimostiy between the band and football team at some schools. There is definately some at ours. They get very upset when the team comes out of halftime and warm up in the endzones. I've heard parents say that the halftime is their time. This year we had to beg ours to play at a playoff game. They had the money to travel, just didn't want to. I guess your opinion on this subject depends on the relationship between the band and football team at your school.
  13. I think the reason why SBEC moved into MS is b/c they are associated with a church. The church moved, thus the school moved. It is a nice campus that they moved to. They were participating in the MS Private school division. But they were spending so much money in travel. I beleive their nearest region opponent was over a hour and a half away. Every away game in very sport, unless they were going into Memphis, was a long trip. SBEC is right across the line, only 10 minutes from Bishop Byrne.
  14. I watched Carver beat Briarcrest and I saw Milan beat Covington. This is an even matchup. Milan has a great running back and an athletic QB. Carver has a good RB and other athletic skill people. The two questions for this game are: *Can Milian's offensive line block Carver's nose guard? Briarcrest tried two centers and double teams and could not block him. *Can Carver handle leaving the Memphis area and playing their toughest opponent in a hostile environment? Good luck to both teams.
  15. bcsfives, I'll give you one thing, you are very sure of yourself. Work hard this off season and we will see if what you say is true.
