  1. We (L.C.) have Tullahoma on the schedule for next year around week 7, I don't think from what I'm hearing now that they will not move up for a couple of years, but I hope that they and Shelbyville, and Lawrence Co. all move up and we can get back some of the close neighborhood rivaleries back like it used to be before the t$$aa changed everything around and made everyone travel long distances to play. I checked with the school the other day and found out that Lincoln Co. has 1156 students there to choose from and that's about what the other schools (Tull. Shelb. Lawrence) have so that evens it up a little.
  2. You know you probably are very correct, I just get tired of seeing the threads on Coach T by some of their "fans" saying that no one in the state could beat them in any classisification. Well, move up then, if you do it then I will congradulate you, but until they do then a lot of people will just automaticly assume that the 5A champion is the best in the state because of the bigger size of the schools.
  3. I wish they would move up, then that would settle all this debate, they are already right at the very edge of enrollment that qualifies you to be 5A.
  4. I think that we are looking at around week 7 for L.C./Tullahoma.
  5. That's correct, we have never had freshmen at the high school, they go to 2 other different schools, (Ninth Grade Academy, and Fayetteville City Jr. High). I personally think that it hurts us very much because when they come in as sophmores they have to basicially have to start from scratch. Although the head coach at Fay. City is the former offensive cordinator at L.C. and he is trying to use much of the same formations and terminology as the high school and that will help some, but as I said earlier the other 2 schools have been through with football for at least a month and if they were at the high school they would have gotten that much more practice, almost like another spring practice.
  6. From what i was told today it is a done deal, no more Oakland, and it was Oakland's coach's decision to drop us, not ours.
  7. A bunch of other playoff games!!!!!!! That way a person might get to see 2 different games. And someone would get a bigger gate on Thursday night being the only game around.
  8. From what I was told the TSSAA was wanting to add Tullahoma to 3 5A and drop Cumberland Co. down to 4A, to which region I don't know. I was under the understanding that you could move up if you wanted but you had to have a big drop in enrollment (Cumberland Co.) to go down. I don't blame Tullahoma for moving up and getting away from the Nashville schools that regularly don't bring hardly anyone at all the their games, regardless of their record. They already play Hillsboro and Maplewood and a few other teams in their current region that have very good programs, so they are used to the competition.
  9. Our Qb. Chris Shelton is a junior, we also have a soph. Qb. Will Golden that if he works hard has the chance to be very, very good, he was the holder on fg.'s and extra points. We will miss very much tb. Jeremy Ramsey, he was only about 70% last night with a knee injury that he suffered against Cumberland Co. in the last game of the year. Thanks for the complements.
  10. Oh, Tullahoma could compete at the 5A level better than a lot of 5A teams that are there now that have a much bigger enrollment. We (L.C.) only have around 1200 students to pick from at the high school every year, our 9th graders go to 2 other schools in the county and are not at the high school at all, but they are counted against us just like they go there and while you would rarely have a freshman contribute they would be in the program another year and would learn the plays and all the first year and then concentrate on getting better after that,, not to mention that our 9th graders have been through with football for about a month, and they would have still been practicing if they were at the high school like other schools 9th graders, and that would have to make them better next year, but we have to compete against some of the schools with twice the enrollment that we have, and I don't care what anyone says that makes a big difference. I talked to some of Cumberland Co.'s coaches last year and they said that the TSSAA told them that if they went to 4A they might be put in the region with Maryville and they didn't want that either, so i guess that we will just have to wait and see.
  11. I heard that tonight, don't know if it's true or not. Cumberland Co. has the numbers to move down that's for sure, but Tullahoma would have to agree to do so. It would help Tullahoma as far as travel goes, they play a bunch of Nashville teams and that could get them a little closer games with a better gate. Lets face it most (maybe not all) Nashville teams don't bring virtually any fans to away games and that would help out as far as the gate goes. I had a friend that went to the Tullahoma/Stratford game a couple weeks ago and he said that Stratford brought about 20-25 fans and that was maybe a generous estimate.
  12. I know that it's too early to tell, but I was wondering if anyone might move a playoff game to this Thursday night to get a bigger gate?
  13. I believe that the Franklin game is history, from what i was told their coach which is from Kentucky wanted to schedule a Kentucky team and dropped us from the schedule the first game. I haven't heard that about Oakland, that would really suprise me though. I did hear tonight that Tullahoma might be coming to our region next year and Cumberland Co. going out.
  14. Heard a rumor tonight that Tullahoma was moving up to play in region 3 5A next year and Cumberland Co. was moving down to 4a next year. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this. This would put Tullahoma in with Lincoln Co. Franklin co., Coffee co. and others, Tullahoma already plays F.C. and C.C., and I have heard that they had almost worked out a deal to start playing L.C. next year. Tullahoma would have to agree with this since they still have the enrollment to play 4A. You can move up in class, but not down, from what I have been told. I would love to see this happen, because it would give us (L.C.) an opponent that is just 25 miles down the road, instead of some of the long road trips that we have now, and renew an old rivalery with Tullahoma that we had for many years. Just wondering if this is going to happen, or is it just wishful thinking
  15. OOWW, I just saw that, well so much for that prediction, but I will still stick with Ravenwood, they seem to have really grown up in the second half of the season and could cause problems.
  16. Good effort by the Falcons tonight, but the three big mistakes, (And if you went to, or listened to the game, you know what there were) that we made were just too much to overcome against a good football team. We never quit and that was good to see. Congrats to Riverdale, my personal feelings are that you won't really get tested until the semi's, against probably Ooltewah, and from what I have seen score wise from them, I don't really see much of a challenge there either, so I personally think that you are probably looking at either Ravenwood, or Ridgeway in the finals, but that's several weeks down the road, just take it one week at a time and you'll get there, overlook one opponent, and you might get upset. You have a good enough team to win it all, but that isn't always enough as you already know. Good luck.
  17. L.C. was definately lucky to hang on for the victory after leading 24-0 with 8 mins. to go in the game. I don't think that we were in a prevent defense, it just got to the point that Lebanon couldn't do anything wrong and we couldn't do anything right. There's no excuse for Lebanon getting those 2 on-sides kicks there late in the game, it seemed like our guys were just lying back there about 12 or so yards from the kick off and waiting for the ball to come to them instead of going after it, no excuse at all. But that having been said, the last two onside kicks Lebanon was offsides on both and neither was called, from where we were sitting (right on the forty yd. line) it was obivious and on the last one Lebanon had at least 3 guys that were past the line before the ball was kicked and it for whatever reason it was not called. Lebanon's coach stayed out on the field for at least 5 or 6 mins. yelling or argueing with the refs about the call on the last one but it was also obivious that the ball was touched by Lebanon on the 48 yard line and the ball has to go ten yards before it can be recovered and it only went 8 yards. It almost got ugly after the game as a few Lebanon assisants went after the refs screaming at them at the top of their lungs, but in this case they made the right call. But there were several other calls made during the game that were questionable to say the least for both teams, including an inadverent whistle that stopped a play in the middle of it when Chris Shelton was still running on the option and play was stopped. If lebanon had played the whole game like they played the last 8 mins they would have won, but they didn't, and that's their fault, not the refs, and I know that someone will get on here and blame the loss on the refs. and that's not the case at all. It is a 48 min. game not an 8 min game. I know that a win is a win but if we play defense next week like we played the final 8 mins. tonight we will get completely blown out by Riverdale, but that goes without being said. It's hard to explain how you blow a 24 point lead with 8 mins. to go in the game though And No, Jeremy Ramsey didn't even dress out for the game, he stood on the sidelines in street clothes the whole game, and we used about three different tailbacks, with Matt Moran getting most of the carries.
  18. Just got home from the game, which C.C. won I believe 28-7, I left mid-way through the fourth qt. W.C. had several chances to score in the first half and didn't connect on any of them. A blocked punt that they recovered inside the C.C. 20 and also a long run by the W.C. qb. and then he fumbled on the C.C. 5 yard line, and the defense gave up at least a couple of long pass plays where the C.C. player just either out-jumped or beat the W.C. d.b. Congrats to C.C., you played a very good game in the weather conditions especially. You have the ability to give anyone you play in the playoffs problems with your offense and a pretty good defense. Any yes, it rained pretty hard the entire game, so much for missing the rain!
  19. Is that true, the winner finishes 2nd. and the loser 3rd.??
  20. Thanks for the kind words, you all plain and simple kicked our butts tonight and deserved to win, you made the plays everytime you had to tonight and we didn't. Good Luck in the playoffs.
  21. I talked to one of their guys before the game and he told me that they have a freshman qb. that is better than Hennigan and they may actually move Hennigan to wide reciever next year. If he's better, I'd like to see him. Of course he also told me that the tailback Langford had a bad ankle and might not play very much at all and we know that was a joke, he looked like Walter Payton running the ball most of the night I just can't understand how we couldn't get up sky high for this game, considering what was on the line.
  22. Congrats to Cookeville, and former L.C. player now coach Noah Repasky, they came into our house tonight and to put it simply kicked our butts, period. I have no answer for it, Cookeville was fired up from the very beginning, and we had no emotion at all, until the end of the game when it was too late. Cookeville made the plays when they had to, and we didn't that's about all you can say. We blew the pass coverage three different times and gave them either tds. or critical first downs when we desperately need a stop on defense. Cookeville did nothing fancy at all just when it was time to make a play they just stepped up and did it. The offensive line did a great job run blocking tonight, but, did an equally bad job tonight on pass blocking. It seemed like everytime Chris Shelton dropped back to pass the ball, he was either running for his life, or getting sacked. We would run the ball a couple of times and pick up good yardage and then drop back to pass and get sacked and loose 10 or 15 yards and kill the drive. Great job again by Jeremy Ramsey running the ball, which like I said earlier was in part because of good run blocking by the line, but the pass blocking was horrendous to say the least. I think that the play that drove the final nail into our coffin was right after we had scored to pull within 4, late in the fourth qt., and had Cookeville third and 15 from about their 20, and we once again blew the coverage, or just plain got beat, and gave up a long pass, that set them up first and ten inside our territory. Like I said, every time that they needed a big third and fourth down conversion they got it and we couldn't stop them. Congrats Cookeville you outplayed us tonight, you will probably get Lavergne in the first round and we will get Lebanon.
  23. I totally agree with everything that you said. I have been told that every reserved seat on the home side is sold every year, that's fine, but I wish that if people bought the tickets that they would come to the games, or either give them to someone that will use them. I would rather see the school cut the reserved section in about half, it looks ridicilous to look from the other side and both ends of the stadium packed, three-fourths of the visitors side full of L.C. people and the middle section of the home side of the stadium half full. If they cut it in half they would still sell those seats on either side of the reserved section to somebody. This is a subject that we have talked about quite a bit the last couple of years. Bottom line if you have reserved seats, either come to the game, or give, or sell them to somebody who will.
