  1. They are still actively looking for one.
  2. Coach Watson has filled all but one position on his staff. The Siegel Stars are set to start Spring Practice April 24th at Siegel Middle since their practice facilities are still under construction. I have been told Coach Watson has filled his staff with out of state coaches one of which is a coordinator in the Arena league right now. Good Luck to him and his players.

    Lavergne

First off a good principal takes the name of any person wanting a zone exemption to the coach before signing. The coach knows the area kids. Coach Reavis apparently can groom young talent. When he got their LaVegrne had never won more than they lost. Then in back to back years went to the final four winning it once. These kids all came to the program as Freshman and played for teams in the spring and summer for Reavis. So I would say he does a great job developing talent because no one else could do it at LaVergne. Not Tullahoma's coach nor the McGavok assistant the son of the great Mel Brown could win at LaVergne but Reavis has.
  4. I hate to break it to you guys and the Echols kid but their no such thing as exemptions when a new school opens ask the kids who were freshmen at Riverdale when Blackman opened. You don't have a choice. If he did get an exemption it had to be something under the rug and on the down low because as I stated and as the SCHOOL BOARD and INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT stated their are no zone exemptions when a new school is involved. If everyone got zone exemptions the county commission would be a little upset when a new school opened with 500 kids and had a capacity of 2000. Tax Dollars well spent. It is a crazy situation but one that must happen when new schools open. Nobody is a winner, [Edited by CoachFB on 3-23-03 8:13P]
  5. The Echols boy on the freshman team lives in BrentMeade. He was a player. So that will zone him to Siegel ""Unless the Oakland Coaches can get something fixed" Stranger things happen in Rutherford County when zoning is involved. Metro Jobs?

LaVergne's Defensive coordinators job is not open. Atleast it is been advertised as being open.
  7. There is no Coach Lester at LaVergne. Nice try though.
  8. Riverdale has not found a game for week one or zero yet. They are still looking.
  9. Rumor is former Oakland Coach Rick Butler will be the new coach at Siegel. I hope he has decided to teach a little more than he used to. That never was his favorite thing to do. I thought that is why he got into college coaching. But I guess Mr. Nolan would know. [Edited by CoachFB on 1-27-03 8:01P]
  10. Reavis has told his team, and has signed the paperwork. WHy has it not been in the paper who knows. But it is done. If you don't believe him ask him?

    Super Bowl

Shelton Quarles played for Whites Creek, Vandy and now Tampa Bay
  12. David Watson, offensive Coordinator at Blackman High School is a up and coming young coach. He was Offensive line coach at Riverdale prior to moving to Blackman. The future is very bright for him.
  13. Yes, LaVergne's coach is staying and working hard toward their opening game versus MBA. But I guess you already knew that.
  14. I listen to people post on here that a coach runs an offense that is outdated or boring well that bothers me to here. The first job of a coach is to evaluate his talent and decide what offense and defense will put the kids in the best position possible to win. For instance a team with a bad defense can't run a west coast offense because there will be a few quick three and outs and will leave their defense on the field for a long time. Which puts them in a bad situation. A team that has trouble stopping people on defense has to run a ball control offense so that the defense is not on the field all the time. If they can't keep the ball they will have trouble winning. I guess my point to this is that sometimes the coaches are trying to put the players in the best position to be a success. Whether that be the solid I and two tight ends becasue they can't throw it a lick and have three good backs. Or five wide outs and no huddle becaus ehtey have a good QB and smart players but their line is a little in adequate. The best players make the best coaches, meaning if you have a bunch of good athletes and players you will be a success no matter what. But my respect goes to the coaches who win games and champioships because they understood what they didn't have and molded their team based on their strengths.

    Segal football 2003

Oaklands Coach Euveruard is also being mentioned as a possibility at Segal. I would think he has a good team coming back at Oakland and would be surprised if he actually left.
  16. Coach763, The people he in "Giant of a Job" land miss you. The punter/kicker at Gallatin was the best one I saw. We have a o-lineman/d-lineman with a motor you may want to look at. Real good grades. And the WR who made the hustle play against football dude could also be a possibility. looks like #2 may end up at Vandy believe it or not. They think they can get him in. Football Dude good luck I will be there Tonight!!
  17. Current AE defensive coordinator Rob Speas has been contacted by a number of smaller DIV II schools to come be there defensive coordinator. He is also being courted by NC State as a possible LB's coach. He is young and very enthusiastic. It will all come down to who make him the best offer I am sure. Good Luck to him and his family.
  18. Rico Turner was released by Dr. Tom Johns yesterday. He practiced in full pads with the blaze yesterday afternoon and is expected to get 15 to 18 carries friday against Riverdale.
  19. Coach E, You are right it should not have been close. We couldn't stop them. They exploited some obvious defensive problems. Great Job STevie
  20. Slim: I understand your love for your team. They are good and well coached. But don't be bitter and take it out on other people because your son is injured and can't play. Just pumped up your team and don't be so hostile.
