Interviews were this week not sure on how they went

I just want to respond to some of the accusations that Jackson County recruits. In no way does Coach Brown go out and recruit players. I think parents and students look and realize that if you play for a winning program and you have the connections that Coach has made through the years then there is a greater chance of a player receiving a basketball scholarship. I can remember when J county was not that good so why didn't this so called recruitment start then. Jackson County's best player in many years Andrea Davidson was born and raised in Jackson County, Marissa Hensley born and raised in J county a freshman starter at TTU, Alyssa Bowman and Deanna Apple just to name a few all from J county. They say success breeds enemies and that is what is happening in Jackson County. I wonder if some people think that just because a player tranferred from another school do people not trust coach browns judgement to decide if their skill level is adequate to play over someone who happens to originally be from j county. To win as a coach you must play your best talent to give you the best opportunity to win not get caught up in politics of where people are from. I give Coach Brown credit for being able to play the best talent and not get caught up in these politics.

Looks like the technical fired up LA's girls. Looks like the technical foul fired up the referees. Just another inconsistent game called by District 7AA refs. They need to just call it fair, I mean in the first half JC was getting most of the calls and then after the technical LA was getting the breaks.As far as the fans go yes our fans chanted T her up when coach smith came out of the locker room but I did not hear them boo LA, not to say they didn't but I didn't hear them. The key point to all this being though is that all this occured during the game not after the game like the LA crowd. The shirt itself is not the issue it is the fact that it had a great accomplishment for our county on it and they think because of one game that they are giant killers. The worst part was the booing of our team during the trophy presentation which only angered our fans and fired up our players. Our girls will be back and we will see you next week. Congratulations to the LA girls and those fans who truly came to see the girls and not bash the other teams

Stat of the game LA 19-24 from the free throw line JC 9-14. Also whoever tore up that JC 4 peat shirt know this that is as close to winning four in a row as you will ever come. That was a classless act as well as booing the JC girls when they accepted the Runner-Up trophy.

In order to understand the future you have to understand the past. The last five years a team from District 7-AA has won the gold ball. Once they won both the gold and the silver. Livingston and Jackson County had better not be overlooked. Every year I hear about how good these teams from the east are and yet they don't make it to the big game or can't get by LA and JC. LA has played several teams from the east on their turf and only lost to Sevier Co. These two teams play one of the tougest schedules in the state so their record doesn't always look as good as some, but they always seem to be there in the end. Expect this year to be no different.

"We had to play 4 time state champion Jackson County and win by 51" It was more like a 20 point game as the starters for JC were pulled at the half. Coach Insell left his in until the 4th quarter from what I understand.

NO SENCE IN NAME CALLING. PLAIN AND SIMPLE JC WON. LETS DROP IT AND LOOK AT THE UP COMMING GAMES THE TOURNAMENT GAMES IS WHAT WILL MATTER. LETS JUST HOPE THERE IS FAIR REFS FOR THOSE GAMES

WHICH ONE WILL HAVE THE GREATEST IMPACT IN COLLEGE. PLAYING POSITIONS AND DEFENSE THE VOTE GOES TO BeechBOARD.

I dont think the starting lineup has been the problem with the lady blue devils. I think it comes down to defense and execution. In years past we have been quicker from top to bottom than we are this year and that hurts us especially against penetrating teams like Celina and Upperman. We also are not making the extra pass that we need to we just drive and throw up the first shot we get. These will all be corrected and we will make our run in the tournaments.

Thats cool. Les told me that you were with your dad I was just giving you a hard time. Yeah smith did get a little fired up but breaking the rule of keeping names off here was a little extreme. Well I have to get back to work. See ya Friday

Cookeville always plays us a close game. The flu has hit us really hard and even if all the starters are back I think we will be a little rusty. I am glad to see that up to this point the board has not gotten into the normal Cookeville vs. J county battle of the fans where they make fun of us and it just snowballs into a big argument on the boards. J-County basically went to a matchup zone and packed it in on Fuller, Insell never really adjusted and Shelbyville didn't shoot well from the outside. No one was hurt but Marissa Hensley was unconscious. She literally took over the game in the second quarter. Insell was outcoached tonight by Coach Brown he didn't make the adjustments when he needed to like Coach Brown. As far as all this talk about Beechboard and LA coming to town just keep talking we like it when we are overlooked and it makes great bulletin board material.

I looked over and Coach Brown gave Marissa the signal to shoot the three to end the half and when she hit it I looked up and Coach Worrel had this huge smile on his face like look what fell in my lap. Excellent game tonight girls and I can say without a doubt that Insell got outcoached tonight.

Dont forget Courtney Childress from Jackson County who has been playing on a broken foot for about a month and still plays harder than anybody. Way to go Girls!!!!

You are right that was a questionable call, however look at the ref who blew the whistle. Not the same ref who had the 2 no calls and bogus foul on the other end just moments before. Let me explain to you what happened...Hensley drives is obviously fouled by not one but two lady rr and no call...hopkins rebounds and puts up a shot and is fouled...Childress gets the rebound and is bumped into by a Lady RR..whistle blows everyone even the Lady RR think the foul is on them even the other refs but this ref makes it a bogus foul on childress.. this is just one example of a lot of no calls that were not called. If you think I'm just saying all this then go to the Tennessean's web site and read their article they agree. So yes I think AE was getting a lot of help from the ref's and anyone who says otherwise didn't watch the same game I did.

FIRST OF ALL LET ME SAY THAT CANNON COUNTY FANS HAVE ABOUT AS MUCH CLASS AS A ROOM FULL OF TERROISTS. I CAN REMEMBER PLAYING THERE IN YEARS PAST AND GETTING SPIT ON AND HAVING CANS AND FOOD THREW AT US. IT SHOWED AGAIN LAST NIGHT WHEN SOME KNOT HEAD KEPT YELLING AT GURLEY AND SOME OF THE OTHER PLAYERS IF HE WANTED A BEER OR NOT IN REFERENCE TO THEIR SUSPENSION. FIRST OF ALL THEY WERENT DRINKING BEER AND SECOND OF ALL...LET IT GO THEY SERVED THEIR PUNISHMENT.

Some of Jackson County's best are Courtney Childress, Alyssa Bowman,Marissa Hensley, and Deanna Apple. All of these girls have significant state tournament experience with three of them starting last year

I agree Jimbo I think it will be a very intense ball game and a good matchup but I disagree with you on a couple of items. First please leave Childress open since she is such an inconsistent shooter, and last time I checked a forward is the same thing as a post player because they play "in the post" unless Cookeville runs a 5 out offense with nobody inside.

This should be a pretty good game I believe. I have heard a few people say this will be no game but I disagree. Upperman always brings their A Game whenever they play us so I think it will be closer than most people think. I'll take the big blue by 12

York won 81 to 64. I think it's time coach taylor starts to worry a little bit more about his defense. This is one of the weakest defensive teams I have seen in quite some time. Offensively we need to work the ball more and make better decisions with the ball. If this team doesn't shore itself up fast then they will have trouble winning 3 ballgames all year. We have the athletes to compete but we dont play with our heads and more importantly we do not play defense. No help side defense we jump out of the gym on ball fakes and we play straight up and do not slide ou feet.
