The tournament is taking place at Charlotte Middle School on Saturday 12. The consolation games start at 3:30 & 5:00, and the championship games are at 6:30 and 8:00.

I was asking about the area tournament. We are all curious who the Lawrence County, Lewis County, and Hickman County teams will be facing at Blackman Middle School next week.

Congratulations Lewis County Middle School! I learned that they are the first girls team from LC to win the tournament at Summertown. Great Job! Can't wait till February 15th, Good Luck!

Haven't heard anything from the North Sectional Tournaments. Curious about the dates & times and location of the tournament.

Not sure about the boys games, but South Lawrence beat New Prospect and Lewis County was victorious against Summertown. S. Lawrence and Lewis Co. will play for the championship Saturday @ 6:00

Summertown girls beat Hickman County girls on Saturday. Not sure what the final score was, but it was like 20-2 at halftime.

Hampshire has definately lucked up on getting a wonderful coach. He is a young, energetic man who cares deeply about the girls, not just about winning or making himself look good. A coach who is positive and really cares about his/her players usually gets better efforts out of athletes. Its not always about yelling, being negative, or pouting when you are losing and people could probably take a lesson from this young man on keeping a positive attitude and setting examples for his players that he would actually want them to follow!

85Warrior, acually I was at the game or I would not have made any commments. Like I said originally, White Co. flat out-played Siegel, but they are no where near the team athletically or physically that Siegel is. There is no argument about that!White Co. has a good team and I always enjoy seeing a hard working team out play an athletic team. Many times hard work can overcome athletic ability, but the athletic ability is definately noticed more in the Siegel team. I wish both teams the best of luck in the future. White Co. definately impressed me more than Siegel, it is a shame to waste all the talent they possess.

Siegel has much more talent and ability than White Co., but they need to use their size on the inside instead of trying to rely on the 3 point shot. Early in the game, I almost felt sorry for the outsized White Co., but after a very short amount of time I found myself pulling for them. White Co. showed much improvement this year, really hustled, and took the game seriously. Siegel seemed over confident from the start. This is the first game this year that I have seen both teams play and I was impressed with both programs (boys and girls). Not sure if this game was a fluke, but the best team does not always win. By the way, The Black Hole is awesome. Too bad all schools can't get that kind of student involvement.

I have to say Summertown, not because they have a better team, but because PC has a history of falling apart at tournament time. They also have some internal conflicts on the team with the assistant coach being asked to quit. Hope this doesn't affect their game, but we will have to watch and see. Good luck Lady Vikings!

We all know that Howard "The Bear" Spears did great things for the middle school boys team, but in case you can't read, this thread is about LC girls! I also seriously doubt that Spears would want to come back to coaching now. He is probably about as interested in the job as Bruce Slatten is!?

Well Ike I assume that you must be a man because a women wouldn't make that kind of remark. The only other thing I have to say is that I hope that if you do have children that you have ALL girls who play EVERY sport possible. You might grow to eat those words about female athletics!

Stepback-that was the stupidest thing I have read in a while! Why on earth couldn't men and women work together? I'm not sure what happens wherever you are from, but we are more than capable to have men and women working together and keeping a professional relationship in Lewis County. As for men not coaching girls, it just doesn't need to be given to any man, but a real man shouldn't have any trouble coaching female sports!

Knight, I have heard all the rumors about the basketball programs as you have heard. It seems that no one knows anything for sure, so the best thing for all of us to do is wait it out and see. Plus, one thing that people need to remember is that at the middle school level, you don't usually hire 'just a coach'. There will need to be a job to go along with the coaching position. I do know of a few people who are anxious about the final decision about the coaching position. Guess we will all know in good time. You have any opinions about it? What do you think about the rumors of the 4-Horsemen leaving?

Personally, I have enjoyed watching the 4-Horsemen (as you call them) coach. I think they do an excellent job and I hope that they stick it out a few more years. As for the girls, we will all just have to wait and see...

Well the thing that we need to remember is that we are talking about MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS. Most teams are lucky if they have a player that is half the scorer as Anderson. She is a key part of the LCMS team, but she can't do it all. Scoring is important, but there is more to basketball than just shooting. The girls work hard and play hard. I feel that if they get ready for the game mentally, they will surprise a lot of people today. Good luck ladies!

The thing about these tournaments is the best team doesn't always win. Lewis County came out ready to play ball and beat the #1 seed.Plus, LCMS missed plenty of shots. If they had hit more shots it would've been a very different game as well. Lewis County girls did play a good game. One of the best things about LCMS is that they play well together as a team, plus they are very unselfish with the ball. Anderson is a main scorer, but there are other girls on the team as well. I feel that Lewis County is sitting in as good a position (girls and boys). Whoever wants it the most and plays the hardest will come back and play Saturday. Good luck to both Lewis County teams.

Well Highschoolstats it seems like you are getting an attitude on here. You must know little to nothing about basketball or you would know that a point guard is a very important part of a team. I agree with you about Sparkman not being why the Panthers are winning so many games. Curfman is an excellent player and the Panthers seem to play well as a team. I do however feel that LC will win by more than 5 points easily. I guess just like in any sport, it will be the team that wants it the most tonight. Good luck LC! As for people getting on here and trashing Byrd, he is a decent player but is just very small. He seems to be very fundamentally sound just too bad his size is his biggest disadvantage.

The hot new assistant coach that people are talking is Ms. Maxwell. She is a former Coffee County basketball player and she also was the assistant coach at Harpeth Hall, the 2003 State Champions. Hope this answers some of your questions.

Sparkman did play well the last time these two teams met, but the main reason that Lewis County will win is because they are a much better team than Wayne County. Devin Brewer is injured and this should give Wayne County a chance of the game not being a blowout, but I saw LC by 15.

I have watched Marshall Co. play a few games this year. To me (and this is only my opinion) the boys seem lazy. Plus, I heard that their coach is only in his 2nd year as a head coach. They seem to have talent on the team and coming up, I predict that MCHS will turn things around in a few years.

I'm glad someone finally told ol' Timmy how everyone on here feels. Just in case the post by Memorialpark doesn't sink in, Timmy needs to realize that this category of posting is about players and the game of football. If he is so worked up about alumni games or past players, he needs to get on "Where are they now". It should help him re-live some of his old glory days at PC!
