  1. Great first half! Thought Clarkrange was going to run away with the game, but Middleton got hot shooting and turned it in a good one.
  2. That game was one of the best games I've ever seen, I hated that both teams couldn't have won... Both deserved to win!
  3. People take their kids to play for successful programs, I have no problem with that. There are always "ifs" but she got hurt during the game, in a game that Clarkrange was leading for a majority of until she got injured. I was just stating that had she not got hurt the chances are we wouldn't have been playing CSAS in the sub-state that year.
  4. Goodpasture should come out of region 4 fairly easy. Watertown, Clarkrange, and Jackson County should be the favorites to finish 2nd in region 4. Apparently Clay has a stud pitcher who can sling it who is just a sophomore and the way the region tournament and sub-state is set up, once you get outside your district a single pitcher, if he's good enough, can carry your team a long way, especially in A.
  5. Bob is right, it is normally easy once you get past the region semis. 4 or 5 years ago CSAS sent a very good team to the state tournament who ended up losing in the state semis. CSAS put a beat down on our girls, but if Molly Heady for Clarkrange was healthy the RBS wouldn't have ever made it past Clarkrange in the region semis. Outside of that CSAS team the region 4a teams, a majority of the time it is 7a, has had it's way with whoever they meet out of region 3a.
  6. Usually 3a has their way with 4a, but that hasn't been the case the last few years. I hope both teams play one more time. Congrats to Clay and good luck to both teams the rest of the way out.
  7. People transfer to a school because of the coaching, and that gets called recruiting? If I ever had daughter with the talent to excel in basketball at the high school level I would love for her to play for either coach because it has been obvious what both coaches do with that talent.
  8. What would happen if a teacher purposely stopped teaching because he or she did not think his or her students could not handle the up coming challenge of the lesson about to be taught? How would a school react? Parents send their children to school to receive an education and learn, so in a situation like I just named how would the parents react? As a coach you are given the responsibility to teach, not just win games. You may not be teaching the same thing teachers in a classroom are teaching, but as a coach you are still an educator and there is a level of responsibility that comes with that. I believe the players do deserve some of the blame, but they are just teenagers listening to someone of authority. I think the coaches get 98% of the responsibility, and in my opinion neither coach should ever be allowed to coach in Tennessee ever again.
  9. If TSSAA would make the basketball district and region tournaments like baseball this would be prevented. Send the top 2 teams to the region tournament and only have 4 teams playing in a region tournament instead of 8.

    7A baseball

He played QB for Clay this year. About 6'5 - 6'7. I was told there was a video of him on youtube throwing an 86 mph fastball and he's just a sophomore. I haven't seen the video, but he has the build to be able to do it and I know he can sling a football.

    7A baseball

Since 2000 only 3 teams have won this district, but after this year Clarkrange should make it a fourth. In baseball it's all about pitching and if the kid from Clay is as good as I have heard and if they have someone to go along with him then Clay could end up winning it.
  12. From reading the thread you started on the boys side I believe you are somewhat biased toward 7a. Clarkrange, Watertown, Pickett, and JC should cruise, but RBS did give JC all they wanted in the game at RBS during the season so that game has some potential to be close. People should get their money worth in the region semis though, should be 2 good games!
  13. I've not got to see enough basketball this year so I have kept fairly quiet, but I do not expect a sweep. I don't think Goodpasture loses to Pickett, especially playing at home, but 7a should take the rest. What little i've seen from RBS they could either pick up the win or get blown out, very up and down season for them. Good luck to all of the teams...I hope whoever comes out of the region goes all the way!
  14. Watertown maybe the best team 8a has sent out of the district since RBS a few years ago. I'm going to disagree that who finishes 2nd in 7a is guaranteed to go to state. Whoever plays Watertown is going to be in a dog fight come tournament time. Whatever happens I'm just glad it's going to be competitive again and it not Clarkrange and Jackson running over everyone.
  15. District is pretty even outside Watertown. 8a will send one team to the region semis and from there it'll be interesting.
  16. Jim Brown and Lamar Rodgers could be 1-2 on this list. Over 20 state championship appearances combined.
  17. How many seniors does Clay have? I'm anxious to see them play.
  18. RBS has one of the toughest gyms on the area to play in and on the right night can make it tough for any team. I expect it to be a blow out next time as well, but with as easy as our schedule is RBS should still win quite a few games.
  19. How was this a 47-55 game? I missed this game and didn't get to make it out, but I expected it to be a blow out.
  20. Good luck Monterey. Success normally comes in the spring on the diamond for you guys, but this year it's in the fall on the football field. I wish you guys the best and congrats to both teams for making it to the semis.
  21. Union City still has to get by Nashville Christian, let's not crown them state champs just yet.
  22. I hope Monterey makes it to the state championship, I know they're unlikely to win if they do but what a great story this would be for a school who isn't considered a football power by any means.
  23. Are you sure it wasn't in 2002 Nathan Aaron wasn't a Mr. Basket finalist? He and Joe Bailey were sure fun to watch.
  24. You can lose every game as long as it's not in the tournament . Clarkrange are very well coached and should be ready as the season progresses.
