  1. Sounded like a great scrimmage. Who else is Blackman scrimmaging in the pre-season? They have been at Gallatin and FC. Was hoping to catch them at home.
  2. Siegel High School in Murfreesboro,TN is seeking assistant football coaches with a possible coordinator position. Teaching positions are Science and English. Please send resume to David Watson at Anyone know what positions they are looking for? Did a coordinator leave?
  3. Unless the Portland job is paying $95,000 a year, I seriously doubt it!!!
  4. This is ridiculous and I am going to shut up. I have embarrassed myself. I took it to heart what was said about my former team and I should have let it go. Commando Pride will always be in my heart and I will always defend them, but I was not taught to be a jerk. Let me tell you something Region4. Don’t you ever mention my kid and what I should or shouldn’t do around it. You know nothing about me or who I am. I will stay off the board from now on so get your last say in Region4.
  5. What a good comeback Region4. Who did you steal that one from? You are still full of I was there in the 97 & 98 season. NO ONE broke any bones.
  6. I appreciate the post BHSOL I really do not know how good he was. I graduated a few years before he did. Ask him for his senior highlight tape. Everyone got one that graduated from there. If you see him Shane tell him to shut up.
  7. Region4 your so full of crap. There are no holes in the field by the end zone. You have no idea how many hours are put into the field. Are you BHSOL's big sister? You are sure acting like it. I did not know he needed someone to look after him. If someone breaks their bone on the football field, I would take a wild guess and say because it is a contact sport.
  8. I knew there were 2 or 3. I was just curious to see who they where. Tracy Malone is a great coach who was at Riverdale. He has been a OC in Georgia for the past few years. He will be a head coach before too long.
  9. Excuse me but my understanding was if you really wanted to go to the Australia game then you could shell out the cash and go. I remember everyone in my senior class receiving a letter and then you go could go on a first come, first serve basis. Maybe it has changed, or maybe it was not like that. Either way… Yes indeed Luke Powel was small in size. I played against him in high school. A great guy! Was an all-American special team player at Stanford. The reason why I know this kid that BHSOL is referring to was not on the MTSU Sun Belt Championship team is that I was on that team. I also played for Hendersonville and kept up with them after the years I graduated and know that Shane Miller was not offered a scholarship to either Florida State or UT. In no shape, size, or form do I represent Hendersonville High School. I am not a teacher nor am I a coach. I just bleed black and gold. I think Lassiter left to go back home to Gallatin. I don’t think it was because anyone was a smart #### He was a good coach. No hard feelings. We got the better deal, because Coach Hat took over. I don’t think anyone dwelled on him leaving. The next year we went 12-3 3 years later 13-2 12-5 in playoff games. The only reason why I responded to the post, because it sounded like BHSOL was giving H”ville a bad name. I do not take it well when that is the case.
  10. Go Rutherford County Eagleville, Siegel and Blackman are all new within past few years. There has been 1 new school in Sumner in the past 10 years. Who in the past 8 years has got a head coaching job that went directly from Riverdale?
  11. Dude who cares? I can say for a fact that he was not on MTSU’s sun belt championship team. Everyone is offered a chance to play in the game in Australia, if you shell out the cash. So he could have very well played in the game. I can also say for a fact that he was not offered a scholarship to anywhere in DI. You can look at the guy and tell that. Quit wasting everyone’s time with a bunch of BS!
  12. Some people would disagree, but I think you have to mention Bruce Hatfield. In 6 years at Hendersonville (first head coaching job) he has been to the championship game TWICE in 5A. Been to the playoffs 5 of 6 years Best two season records 12-3 and 13-2 (1998, 2001) 12-5 record in playoff games Does all this with a school that has 6 other schools in the county, plus a private school.
  13. BHSOL How can you say that Hendersonville has the worst atmosphere? You base your info on a crummy call? What about the fans that pack the stadium at 6:30? What about standing room only by 7:15? I have never been to a Hendersonville game that would ever represent anything but a good Friday night southern atmosphere. I would also like to mention the great facilities for the visitor team. And of course the indoor practice facility the overlooks the stadium. Get your facts straight. Sorry about the call, but that’s life. Don't give Hendersonville's atmosphere a bad name.
  14. BHSOL I do recall the name Shane Miller at Hville. Was not friends with him nor do I know what year he graduated. I think he he was a QB.
  15. I think you are forgetting another coach in Sumner Co. sumnerfbfan That’s okay because he does not get the recognition nor does he want it. Coach Bruce Hatfield has done an excellent job at Hendersonville High School. Although he has only been a head coach for 6 years he has done an impressive job. In his first year he led the Commandos to a 12-3 record, and the state runner up for 5A. I wish I had a complete record for him but I do not. However, I do know that he has gone 12-5 in playoff games. In 2001 he led the Commandos to another runner up trophy in 5A and a 13-2 record. In six years as a head coach he has been to the playoffs 5 times. I think that is pretty impressive!
  16. 1998 Hendersonville Commandos Some would laugh and say why. A great “tight knit” team who went 12-3 in Bruce Hatfield’s first year. In Spring Practice before the season one of their seniors died during practice. Here were their playoff results that year. AAAAA Hillsboro W 54-23 Early Round AAAAA Smyrna W 17-9 Early Round AAAAA Brentwood W 33-23 Quarterfinal AAAAA Houston W 21-14 Semifinal AAAAA Oakland L 46-24 Finals Beat a Brentwood team at Vanderbilt who was the favorite for the title. Everything went wrong at the Clinic Bowl. After the game they were sad, but yet happy because they dedicated the season to their friend who had died. They knew they did all the could in order to remember him.
  17. He left the summer after his freshman year because he could not afford to stay there over the summer because they would not pay for his summer school. darn good player
  18. Too bad the 98 Brentwood team :confused:with all the studs could not make it to state. I would say the 98 Hendersonville squad. In a 15 game season they passed the ball in maybe 10 of those games. Averaged over 400+ yards a game.
  19. Hendersonville. 4,000 capacity, and 99% of the time people are standing on the sides. Also the facilities have to be one of the nicest. Brand new indoor practice facility, locker rooms, training room, huge practice fields and a big weight room.
  20. Roger is hard to beat on Friday night? I graduated in 99. Beech was are cross town rival. My junior and senior year we scored 45 points are higher. Beech did not score over 10 point in either contest. Not bragging are anything. He is a good coach. He has been successful at Georgia, mainly due to the fact that know one has seen the Wing-T in so long. Now everyone is going to it.
  21. The Wing-T is a lot harder to stop then just your linebackers reading the guards, unless you have Derrick Brooks and Zack Thomas on your team. Try a 3-3 or some people call it a 3-5. And to the people that think Wing-T is garbage and outdated, what justification do you have for that? The Wing-T has been around in the Midstate for many years now and a lot of teams are have been successful in stopping it. It comes down to who ever executes better. The defensive has to be very discipline. A lot of teams in Georgia are going to the Wing-T. Roger Holmes, formally at Beech High School ran the Wing-T last year and went 14-1.
  22. Oak Ridge! I am still out of breath from walking up the hill at halftime.
  23. Nothing against Tennessee, but I will be leaving the best state in the US to go to Georgia. I wanted to stay here, but the HC in Georgia (new high school 40 miles south of Atlanta) was the only one offering and I had to take it. I will defintley be back.
