I don't like to offend people because all people deserve love and respect, but truthfully the coaching went from horrendous to decent. It was snowball type thing though. When people lose faith in a person, motivation to play or work for them begins to dwindle. Everything in life is interconnected. It is weird. We were 4-6 my senior year before the 0-10 year. We were 4-2 after beating Wayne Co. 36-0, they have score wrong in TSSAA. Wayne Co. went 7-3 and we lost the remaining 4 games. Including 3 teams that Wayne Co. beat. Something was definately very wrong with psyche of the team and I couldn't fix it. The overtime lost to Moore really hurt after being up 20-12. It still hurts to this day.

Yes, partly. MP should have let David Brown a Jr. be the Qb. He's hurt now. But he's 6-1 and had a good arm. He's also the best pass rusher. The same thing drove me crazy when I played. Half a dozen people in the wrong positions. No real imagination. Zion calls much better plays w/far less talent. Only if they learn how to utilize all their players I could type 10 pages of stuff that I disagree with just from watching less than 2 hours of football, not just X's and O's, but also the way coaches dealt with players when they were struggling. Pull a player aside and give specific instruction and encouragement!

MP probably has the most talent, but your probably right. They don't really want it.

No doubt MP has the athletic ability, they have terrific atheletes; but do they have the discipline, the direction, the focus, the stamina, and the desire? They don't utlilize their talent. How can u have a all state Junior tight end that is 6-5 230lbs and athletic (at the single A level mind you, and not get him ball at least some every game) They need to use him across the middle with screens, dump passes, drag routes, curls, slants. I do like how coach Smith is splitting him out wide more, but gees use his abilities! and a 6-6 300lbs freshman with that kind of speed on the defensive line! The kid dominates the whole line up front against McEwen (less than 100yds rushing) They just scored on two short fields and the offensive turnovers.

Mt. Pleasant High School, but I'm not sure if MP wants it bad enough. The paper talked about Murfressboro, but talk is cheap. I wonder does this team REALLY want to go to Murfressboro? Do they want it so bad that it hurts on the inside? Does the passion burn on the inside? That's what it takes to be a real champ at anything. I wonder if MP is hungry or if they just want to turn in the pads? I guess we'll find out.

Relax sweetie, I am not out to dehumanize anybody. Constructive criticism is a crucial part of the growth process throughout life. It is very critical to learn how to respond to it, whether it comes from professors, colleagues, professionals in general, even a stranger. The tigers are good, but they need to be challenged in the right way as young men. We all do. I do agree that the motherly instincts were kicking in big time. Something would be wrong if they weren't /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I believe we can agree to disagree.

Lewis Co. better play with every ounce of passion, good sense, discipline and focus that they can muster. Hickman is very capable of winning.

Not really, he had over 200 total yards and 3tds, and I don't think he played his best. He still hasn't played his best. Neither has the team collectively. Whoever wants it the most will win.

Jordan is a good player. He's a hoss, not trying to take anything away from him. But Daily is so much faster. It's a treat to watch him play. He stops and goes and cuts back and invents things that aren't even there. It's more fun to watch. It would be shame if he doesn't get to play college football somewhere, even at least a small college. It would be so sad. I hope some MP administrators try to help him, if he wants to go to college.

My post on McEwen/MP thread gives a good synopsis of the game. I hope. Check it out. That was the sloppiest game I have ever seen MP play and I've been watching since I was like 5. The atmosphere at the Jungle is great when the fans don't act crazy. Cascade 11, watch film on McEwen and tell me what you think of Daily. 325 yards and 3tds on a D that Cascade only scored 17pts on. I think he's a gifted athlete, but the MP coaching staff drives me nuts (kinda like when I played). I think this will be a great game, if MP doesn't turn the ball over and plays with some heart!!!! I think MP has more speed than Cascade, but Cascade is more fundamentally sound and disciplined. #74 on the defensive line is 6-5lbs 300lbs and he blows up plays in the backfield in t running. A freshman, just a pup, but already a hoss. MP has a ton of good football players and so does Cascade. I think MP is much more explosive, but Cascade is more balanced, more consistent, and there's a lot to be said for that type of play. Should be a great game. Two different styles.

MP has a good team, but they have discipline and execution issues. If they can have 1 turnover or less, no bad punts, no bad snaps, kick extra points, and have 5 penalities or less, then I say they win. Otherwise Cascade will win b/c they are consistent and play with heart.

This was game was SLOPPY. MP had 3 turnovers centering the ball and turned the ball over on downs centering the ball. Also, they had about 3 punts that went 10 yards or less and the missed a bunch of 2 point trys. They might consider taking the shotgun out. I mean gees, you gotta get the ball before you can run the play. MP also had like 3 or 4 personal fouls and even more holding calls. If MP had brought the A game, they could have won 50-0, but the execution was terrible. I mean McEwen couldn't stop Daily. He had set school record for rushing yards in a game in the 3rd quarter. MP has the best player in single A hands down. That 65 yard td run where he broke ankles was worth the $7.00 by itself. MP turned the ball over (and gave McEwen terrific field position) or scored, most of the time. It was ugly. I believe MP has the talent to beat anyone in Region 5 & 6, but they can lose next week, if they play like they did tonight. Look for MP to play better next week. I can't see another week this bad. Hope they got the bad game out of their system. Good luck to the tigers.

Cascade has a better team this time and they proved it last week. They win and set up the best second round matchup in the state next week.

Wayne Co. is a really good team, much better than most think. They have a poised freshman QB. Two excellent veer backs, a good offensive and defensive line, and a good passing game. They win a high scoring game.

Nope, MP will have a good football team next year. Their Junior class is the strongest. Many started as sophmores last year on the semifinal team. They get back 3 or 4 all state caliber lineman and linebackers. Dude, this is the same MP team that beat JB last year and that JBs team was better than this JBs team. MP was flat against Moore and Cwood for that matter. If MP wants it, and i believe they still do. They will be in the semis. Scores mean squat, circumstances are different for every game. I hope you see MP in the second round. Their team speed resembles Jo Byrns on a REAL field.

Hickman could beat Lewis Co., if they don't show up with right frame of mind. Good luck against the private schools. I think they are very beatable by both Lewis Co. and Camden if they play hard and play smart.

I heard MP lost David Brown for the season. MPs best pass rusher who is also solid against the run. Without his 4 sacks last year against JBs, no way MP would have made the semis last year. I'll bet Spann had nightmares about that game. Tough loss for the tigers. Hopefully the rest of line will pick up the slack. They whole second team gave up 16 of those points. It was 42-0 at halftime. The game was over.

Marco Daily has more total yards (rushing and passing) than anybody in single A and he had over 200 yards and 3tds against Lewis Co. an undefeated, untested top 5 2A team. Also had well over 100 yards against Fairview another 2A playoff team. And he had over 200 against Collinwood a top 10 single A team and Wayne Co. another perenially good 1A team.

Cascade has never made the semis. If that team wants respect, they'll have to earn it. They may do it, but I believe they can be beat in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round. They could also make it to semis. Very slim chance that they go to the boro. JBs is no Eagleville. He made a much more reasonable pick this time. yeah MP was TICKED OFF about that loss last week. Send Moore a TY card. Total domination. 42-0 at halftime.

Comparing scores means squat come playoff time. One bad night and your at home next week.
