Sevier Co beat West in their final matchup. That tied them for 7th. They neither one beat anyone in the district and Sevier owns the coaches tie breaker. So I believe that Sevier is 7th and West is 8th. Is that correct? Bizazz, do you know?

They play today at 5:30

In the past the losers bracket game is early on saturday, which will be the 7th. If Sevier and West get rained out they still have the 1st of next week to get their game in before the coaches meet on Thursday. If Sevier beats West then west will be 8th and Sevier co will be 7th due to the tie breaker draw. That is saying neither wins another district game.

yes Bizazz, if there is a tie with SD and Bearden, SD owns the tie breaker by beating Farragut. The only advantage is that keeps #2 from being in the #1 bracket. Sevier Co got beat 11-1 by West at West and they play again tomorrow at SC. It ends up being the battle at the bottom. SC has been up and down. I believe they have lost 8 or 9 games by 2 runs or less, one of which was a 4-2 loss at Farragut. They are yet to win a game in the district. 0-12, I think. How do you see the standings for year end?

well Farragut beats SD to wrap up the one seed. Has SD wrapped up the 2 seed? How is everything else going to shake down in the final standings. I know WB and West still have to play Sevier Co. who else still has to play before standings are set?

Sevier Co played a good game, just couldn't hold farragut down in the 5th. Heritage is playing well, just coming up short. It looks like Farragut and SD may be tops again this year, but things could change in these last two weeks. How is everyone else finishing up?

They played well enough to win. They lacked some timely hitting and made 1 bad pitch in the top of the 7th.

Karns one up-ed Sevier Co. with a 2 run homer in the top of the 7th and held on for a 5-4 victory.

You are right bizazz. SC committed 5 errors and gave up 3 unearned runs. WB also had 5 errors. SC left 13 runners on base. If they can cut out some errors and mental mistakes they will surprise some teams this year.

It was a slow game. Brady and Connaster pitched for West. Miller and Switzer (SO) and Byram (JR) pitched for SC. SC was up 1-0 until the defense got shaky. West scored 2 unearned runs- one in the 4th and one in the 7th. West had 4 hits and 2 errors and SC had 5 hits and 5 errors. Conley hit well for West. It was a slow game until around the 5th inning. West is a little down from how they have been in the past. It looks like everyone is going to need to worry about Jeff. Co.

Yes Bizazz, during the preseason, SC has been very solid on defense. I think the youth has shown with the pressures of gametime. Their team has only 3 seniors and rely on a lot of sophmores. So once they get seasoned a bit, I think they will be fine. This would be a great opportunity this year for them to crawl out of the cellar in 4-AAA.

Bearden did look impressive. They hit the ball well and played solid defense. Sevier co. had trouble defensively, with about 6 errors. They did swing the bats agressively. Bearden is going to make some noise in dist. 4 AAA this season.

With the resignation of coach Shepard, who is in line for the head job at Halls? Do they hire from within or do they look for the high profile coach?

Does anyone have info on the Big East clinic? I believe it is Fri. and Sat. of this week. I would like to know the schedule and the speakers. It is usually Fri until around 2pm and Sat until around noon. Is that going to hold true for this year?

Farragut, also as always

Hey I was just wondering how baseball programs in the area tie their middle school programs in with the high school programs? Do they play under middle school sanctions or are they like an independent program with a tie to the high school program? Any info would be helpful!

I am ready for baseball as well. This board seems to be staggnant from the end of football until the beginning of baseball, but that may be because I don't read the basketball threads?!?! It will heat back up in Feb. thumb

No one, they will play with 7 teams in the region and have to pick up another non region game.
