Got to go with Ricky Henry as well .He is a beast and is on a great team and has sat out early in games as Union City has blown out most teams.Very deserving.But at least for considereration or mentioned would have to be Wilkes from Lake Co if nothing more for next years Mr Football.Just like last year, Henry could have maybe have won and if not for Henry , Wilkes could be in the err unning this year.Wilkes is explosive and has power.Had about 300 yards against mckenzie, broke the school record in a game against Humbolt with close to 350 yards and had over 200 yards at the half last last against South Fulton.He had a 94 yard touchdown and another around 60 yards and had another touchdown for around 50 yards called back for holding.I believe he had around 300 yards last night and if not for penalties would have easily been over 300 yards again.I would think he is arond 1700 yards on the season or close.The best two backs are in the same district

I THINK Union City is better than last year.Just called Chipper and told him I heard everything tonight about how in the world is Union city Single A with about 70 football players, 60 band members, about 4 ball girls, tractor trailer for the band .Union city has it going on.Great facilities, athletes galore.I heard it all tonight.But I still enjoy playing Union City myself.But just too much talent.Number 22, 6, 11, 2 and 42, the Henry Stud are as good as it gets, Union City is loaded.Hate them or whatever but they are the real deal and the score was 62 to 6 but could have been worse.I remember a few years ago Lake Co scored 60 points on Union City which may be the most points scored by a Single A team on Union city.I thought tonight was pay back time.Union City was up 54 to 6 and Union City got the ball back with about 20 seconds left and on about the 20 yard line, The way they were running the ball I think they very well would have scored again to make thr score about 60 to 6.But Union City took a knee, And then at thestart of the 3rd quarter he pulled his starters and went to only 7 minute quarters and the clock running.Union City never punted and think they could have sscored 80 points for sure and more than likely 90 to 100 points.So I, m thankful to the Union City coach and feel for the LC players but feel good for the players that are on the field with many going to other schools and only about 19 plsyers.I really think Lake Co has some talent but Union City is just that god, Dont think any Single A team will beat them and not sure many Double A teams would

Well we will all have our teams playing at the same place.Maybe Butchie, Duck , you, I and some of the others meet up for a chat.Hopefully we will all go home with a good feeling about our teams .

Yes starting at 7 oclock Mckenzie will play Crockett Co followed by Lake Co and Obion Central and then Dyersburg and Union City.I have heard Dyersburg is down from years past so we will know more after Friday night

Thanks for post.Glagat least we hopefully wont be a pushover.Maybe we will get some. More players once school starts and who knows in a real game with first downs, maybe turnovers etc, never know what may happen.Hopefully we will both make the playoffs.Most have UC as the team to beat. And I think many havE Humbolt, Trenton as the next two so hopefully we have a chance to play them a tough game and finish pretty high..Thanks for the update

Been Reading some predictions about the Lions Maybe going 7 and 3 or 6 and 4.Talked to Coach Sharp and I thaought he told me Dresden was picked around number 5 or somewhere close to that in the preseason poll.Surprised that a number 5 preseason team would be thinking of going 6 and 4 by some.I actualy hope they are indeed the number 5 team then when Lc with just a handful of players spanks that tail, may open some eyes.Or even if they just play tough and close.

Think you may be in for a big surprise.I was planning on going but not sure.Work wants me to stay over 4 hours tomorrow and Friday.Lake Co 68 should be able to give a true evaluation

lol..been working.I saw a post a while back about having 20 to 25 players.I had a couple people tell me thet thought we only have about 14.surely we have more than that.But it only takes 11 to spank Dresden

I've had the priviledge of meeting a lot of people in person on this site including Swo and Chipper from UCButchie and Duck fro McKenzie etc..Hate that Chipper and Swo are UC fans but they are great guys.Am around Chipper quite a bit.I think he likes being in the presence of one of LC's super fans...lol..

I understand that.I mentioned Calwell because he was injured last year and I mentioned Strayhorn because he didnt play but has the body to be a stud or could be.And Wilkes becaus eI feel like he's going to be a lot better and has good speed.I know some others missed time last year,including your son.Hopefully they will all do their part.On another note,the young man I thought would make an impact in future years and maybe even the chance to start at quarterback this year is supposedely going to move and play for either Dyersburg or Dyer Co.He has always played in the LC system,his sister was a star player at LC and his Dad has always worked in LC and kept the LC books for years.And now leaving as a freshman.Hate to see him move out of a community that is all a lot of people look forward to and the talk is all about football and basketball in the community.I think dyer co is going to be down and dont think dyersburg had that good of a middle school tea,.If all the kids were to stay home on the basketball team,himself,the young Jones boys,with Blevins Strayhorn Estes etc.feel like they and Union City will compete for the State title.Or at least have a chance.They may win games at Dyer Co and dyersburg but wont compete for a State title with all they have lost and have coming back.Will be a bigger school and may have could seen this happening if Dyer Co had the team like they had with Hubbs .Kinda like LC when they beat bigger schools like Southside and syersburg etc.Could be a mistake on thir part.My get more recognition at LCeven though LC is a smaller school,simply because they should be a very good Single a team capable of beating bigger schools and maybe play for a State title,something that wont happen at Dyersburg or Dyer co with the schools they have to play in the Memphis regions.

Yall know that LC has the prettiest colors.Purple doesnt go with anything.Purple is the ugliest color.Give a kid a coloring book and he.she is going to more than like go with red,blue,green.black,and yellow.Purple is going to be way down the list because it is so ugly and doesnt really go with anything.I think yall just may be surprised this year.Not going to be a cakewalk.And when we do play ,and if it's at Lake Co.Please tell your women to take out their rollers and go to the dentist.At least look presentable.t

hevy,don't let Swo get you thinking they are Big bad Tornadoes.Just a little breeze is all they are .Last year was last year.The Falcons are gonna soar above the Twisters.Wondering if UC can win if they have a key injury to their running back .Hopefully they stay injury free and wie both will be at full strenght this year.LC lost starting running back,Caldwell to a knee injury last year and he is back along with Stephonski wilkes who did very well as a sophomore last year and filled the void by Caldwell.I have my calender already marked for the UC game

You may be right.I think most have Lake Co in the 4th and 5th spot.Think they are going to surprise some people.Big running back Caldwell is back afetr missing just about the whole season last year.Stenphoski Wilkes is gonna be a stud running the ball and Lake co has anothe rplayer that didnt play last year in Strayhorn about 6'3 and I guess 220 to 230 lbs..May can also be a load if he keeps his mind on doing the right things.Just think with some of the starters back on both sides of the ball and with Caldwell and Strayhorn back to help on defense,think Lake Co will be better.also expect some freshmen to help out in spots.Was thinking one of them,a stud in football and basketball would come up and help out and maybe even push for the starting quarterback job but am hearing rumours he may go to another county his freshman year.Hope not but who knows?May not be anything to the rumours.LC 1968 may know more.
