  1. FINAL!!!! GO OWLS!!! 9-0!!! Final score: Ooltewah 23, Oak Ridge 6!! Well....almost!
  2. Can we get it on radio down here in Chatt-town?!?
  3. I like the Owls in this matchup, although it depends on their mental preparedness. They need to go into Oak Ridge with an attitude...not a cocky attitude, but an attitude. This is their region, and it's going to stay that way. At least that's what it needs to be. They need a quick strike first TD an then they need to kick 'em while they're down! Go Owls!
  4. Kyler is currently finishing up the instructional league season. A few days ago he was hitting .339 for the fall instructional league. The coaches like his swing and say that it has greatly improved. He's got a good feeling through the fall, as he says he's hitting the ball hard even when he gets out. He's still adjusting to the wood and the insane pitching...says he hasn't seen a fastball under 93 since he's been there. That may be somewhat of an exaggeration, but I have been told that this is some of the toughest pitching a pro guy will ever see. You've got most guys with raw arm strength throwing between 92 and 100 with no clue where it's going. He ended the regular season doing well and his team actually won the Arizona Rookie League. He says they will be getting rings for their league championship. He was 2-for-4 in the championship game with a run scored. Will have more updates later...thanks to everyone for their support!
  5. Game Over! SEe you guys in 4 or 5 weeks!
  6. I can just tell you Farragut and Ooltewah will NOT lose to Soddy..and I'm not trying to be funny or cocky...it just won't happen. The Oak Ridge games are a different story...
  7. No, McMinn is not under investigation for grade tampering...they originally were, but then the TSSAA realized it was just a mistake...it was actually the teachers...they couldn't count as high as their grades were..and in all honesty it's kind of crazy because all they had to do was count to 50..but it was all cleared up a couple of weeks ago..
  8. I actually think this will be a high scoring game...I wont give my prediction, however I think both offenses will put up big numbers! The one intangible is the fact that the Owls get home field advantage...and the Owls Nest will be rockin! It's also on TV tonight...I hope that doesn't keep people away.
  9. Very well put Volmike...my response will be forthcoming. Coach Meadows will definitely regret that article. The power of the media goes both ways!
  10. I'll be honest....I was ruined on the Billy Blount fans when after the game I actually APOLOGIZED to a Blount fan for the way a couple of our fans were acting. Their response without missing a beat: "So how much did you pay those refs?" Yea right...get over it! I would probably be mad too, but the classless comments are rediculous. I surely wish we had some video of all the coaches coming after the refs...oh and the player of flung his helmet...the ooltewah fans had to actually step in between the refs and the Blount coaches. And for the record, coaches/schools do NOT get to pick the refs. They get whoever is assigned. As someone who Indian, Reaction, and Thorough (all CoachT veterans) can vouch for being objective on these boards, the officiating last night was MUCH better than last year at Blount. It just happened to go a different way.... Good luck with your toughest schedule in the state...
  11. The title of this thread is William Blount at Ooltewah....Go Owls!
  12. Go Owls!!!!!!! What goes around comes around! I've been quiet on here ALL year, but this is great! I even TRIED to be nice to some Billy Blount fans afterwards...LOVEHSFOOTBALL, you were right on! Go Owls!!!!!!!
  13. I love it! Only in Ooltewah do we have a CrackLE BaRELL and a GOF Cart shop!
  14. Will the return of former head coach Ted Gatewood as an assistant help the Owls this year?
  15. No, my brother did not report to college. He signed with San Diego Padres for $1,000,000. See you in the fall.
  16. Here's the article: Gatewood Returns to Hooterville Big news in Chatt-town today!
  17. Everyone is a champion in shorts and t-shirts...let's wait a few more days!
  18. 1. Farragut 2. Ooltewah 3. Oak Ridge 4. McMinn County 5. William Blount 6. Soddy Daisy 7. Heritage 8. Bradley Central Am I biased towards the Owls? Yes. Do I care? No. Everyone on CoachT is biased and you'd be kidding yourself if you thought otherwise! I've been away for awhile, but the GRAD is back!
  19. McMinn could be a sleeper...big time D-I running back could wreak some havoc this year!
  20. Coach Hall is currently selling sporting goods for Honeycutt Sports out of Nashville. Their home office is in Chattanooga, TN.
  21. Kyler is doing well in AZ. His numbers are down, but mentally and emotionally he seems to be doing just fine. The Padres Scouting Director said just last week that he was devloping just fine. He's been playing right field. He has hit everywhere in the order from 3rd to 8th. His team, Peoria Padres, just won the first half of the season the other day. The Padres said we have to remember he's playing against mostly college seniors. His age coupled with the fact he's using wood full time creates a learning curve that he has to overcome. He did hit his first professional homerun a couple of weeks ago, and he's got two triples. Thanks for all the support and nice comments! I'll keep you updated!
  22. The game is tonight at 9PM Eastern. Ooltewah outfielder, Kyler Burke, was scheduled to play in this game, but I dont think that's going to happen now. As one of their first round draft choices, they do not want him to play in it.
  23. Fox Sports at 9PM Eastern, 8PM Central, and 7PM Mountain...I'm out here in New Mexico waiting on it now! Kyler Burke from Ooltewah will be playing outfield for the East team.
