  1. So which of the two west tn teams are you saying aren't good pitching teams? Houston not a good pitching team, ha! collierville has 3 guys that combined to go 24-3 last year and you are saying they arent right there in pitching? i say at best those teams pitching are even, AT BEST, if not behind houston and collierville.
  2. if there are 2 outs you can run no matter where people are on base.
  3. bartlett scored 3 in the bottom of the 7th to win 5-4
  4. thats perhaps one of the stupidest posts i have ever seen. Dyersburg had to play two teams who are in the state tournament to get anywhere. Who did yall play, ohh yeha kingsbury who would never ever have a chance against anyone except the city of memphis, so as soon as you have to play the competition that d-burg had to play, shut-up.
  5. I can't forsee anyone beating collierville other than munford or farragut. unlike munford, collierville's pitching runs pretty deep and they got players at most of the positions. Most notably, scott hawkins, mark ashley, and zach cozart. Good luck to all but i am planning on seeing munford and collierville on saturday in the finals!!! May be a shelby co sweep in AAA!
  6. I can see both sides of the cobb/pomeranz argument here, but being from a school in memphis and skipping school that day to go see the game, i can tell you for a fact that other high school kids from here and coaches and even just fans came to see pomeranz against farragut hitters, not cobb against houston hitters, bc to be honest, there offense was rather poor other than houge and porter.
  7. once you get into memphis you may experience some problems. if you go through the 40 240 interchange, remember there is a new ramp to get onto 240 and you must stay in the rigth lane, but that makes it much simpler.
  8. Region 8 is the worst in AA or AAA(just dist 16AAA), but i applaud them being out there and not out on the streets, they are doing something they love and having fun doing! Congratulations Raleigh-egypt, kingsbury, fairley, craigmont, and all the other inner-city schools on a great year!
  9. Sad to see munford and farragut will have to match up to begin the tourney, though i am glad to see that collierville is on the other side, seeing as how they are probably the best match-up for fhs.
  10. 14AAA has already been anounced. bartlett steven thomas-p brent moyers-p sam mccormack-c devin hicks-3rd bolton tyler frazier-1st andrew griffey-2nd chris rezebek-c chris stephenson-cf matt ince-of/p dale patterson-p cordova rocky escajadillo-lf travis mathews-p philip gibson-cf nathan baker-inf julian henson-c mark foster-inf robert graham-of munford matt akin-1st cody overbeck-ss/p clay wright-3rd/ss/p tyler huelsing-rf millington matt trouy-c john maybrey-inf joey courtney-3rd/p poy-overbeck coy-densford-munford
  11. I don't forsee Gtown even making it there. they aren't the team collierville is, who i pick to win it, and they willh ave their fare share from munford tomorrow night, facing the best player in 14AAA, perhaps in west tn, and is debatably the best double threat guy in the state.
  12. There is no doubt from a double threat standpoint, overbeck is the top. Hicks is a great player and is very underrated, with ggreat hands, good speed, hits for avg., and has good pop, should be the player to watch for at bartlett next year.
  13. is this the list voted on by the coaches and whoever else, or is this just your list. I would agree with all of them, just wondering though.
  14. no, munford won due to the rain. cordova won the first game but had to beat munford 2x to win the tourney. but since the rain washed it out, munford was declared the winner of the district.
  15. I converted over the summer to it and thus far i have had absolutely no painm and being a closer i am sometimes throwing 3-4 games a week.
  16. Bartlett and Cordova both win on opening night of the 14AAA tournament. cordova won 5-2 and bartlett beat bolton15-5 tagging bolton for 11 in the first inning. Matt nuccio got the win and closer steven thomas came in and worked a perfect 6th, and juniors Devin Hicks and Sam McCormack paced bartlett with 3 rbi's each.
  17. Those top A teams are only able to play with above average or below AAA teams. USJ a A powerhouse, lost to the only AAA team they played with a winning record all year and a couple of AA teams who are expected to compete come tournament time. They maybe good but I just don't see them competeing with the Farraguats, colliervilles and mt juliets of the AAA world.
  18. It was being challeneged but he has been eligible all year, I'm not sure why, but he has. Bartlett's #2 and their closer might be 2 of the best in tournament. Brent moyers in 6-1, with his only blemish against white house. The closer steven thomasd is 5-2 with 3 saves. He had a disastorous 7th inning at bolton were he gave up 8 runs with 2 outs (7 earned). Other than that he has only given up one other earned run. I look for Brent, steven, and #3 starter Shawn Smith to be the difference makers from a pitching stand point. Watson hurt his elbow early on in a game against cordova, i believe, in which he had a no hitter through 5 innings.
  19. what do you think of the pitching in 14? Anyone who stands out in your mind? Being from bartlett im biased towards our pitching but i think ours is the strongest of the last 4 vying for that last spot.
  20. Bartlett split in a double-header last night. a total of 8 runs were scored combined with some dominating pitching performances.
  21. Munford has already won the auto bid to the region, from 14. The last is up in the air with bartlett bolton cordova and millington going for it.
  22. I know in 14 cathers will be big contributors. Sam McCormack (Bartlett), Chris Rezebak (bolton), Matt Trouy (Millington, Henson(cordova) and the catcher at munford are all big contributors for their respective teams, all of them hit between1-5 in their line-ups. Bartlett and bolton will both go as far as their pitching will carry them. Munford will go as far as their offense will carry them and Millington will go as far as lady luck carries them. In 15 look out for collierville, they are carrying the most steam into the tournament after beating cbhs and their ace 11-1 last night. Houston, though they haven't performed as expected will be a force to reon with come tourney time.
  23. Thats kind of a subjective bc of the launching pad yall play in. Ill admit our is short too, but not as short as yalls and balls dont carry at our park like they do yours.
  24. 1. I was saying last years team was more talented, what you said about the district tourney adn all was a great example of what I mean. I don't think this years team has that same capability. 2. You are right, you did beat bartlett 12-1 with overbeck pitching, but the next night turned around and got beat 15-1 by the same team. and to back up what i said when they get pressured they arent as good, wright had 2 errors in that game and overbeck had one. there were a couple of very uncharacteristic pass balls by the catcher and overall they just didnt play when the competition came out and handed it to them first and then small balled them to death. 3. Munford is a great team and the best team in our district, they are beatable however and not as talented as last years team. 4. You and I both failed to mention Matt Akin who is a great ball player in his own right. and what pos does huesling play?
  25. What about Coach Clark at Bartlett. The only coach in revent memory with a national championship at Gtown. He has also started the Bartlett program in the right direction. Sitting 18-11 with a week left. They will return all starters next year. Losing only a senior OF in Nate Eason and the closer rhp Steven Thomas.
