If the RS team is feeling nervous then that means that there is not going to be a letdown and RS will play motivated. If that happens then I see at least a 3+ TD win by river rats. Good luck to both teams.

WEEK 7 Week 7 matchups will go along way in determining the 4 playoff teams and could have a great impact on who will host a playoff game in week one. Riverside 5-1 (2-0) host East Hickman 4-1 (1-1) in a battle that could greatly impact the regional championship. RS has played a tougher schedule in defeating Lexington 17-14 and losing a close game to powerhouse Huntington 14-26. East relies on a foot-to-foot heavy run game while Riverside hangs their hat on a stout defense. If East play mistake free and can be successful on the ground, they have a chance. If not, this game could get out of hand with the home team running away by multiple scores. I pick RS by at least 3 TDs. Adamsville 2-4 (1-1) at Lewis Co. 5-1 (2-0) Most were shocked by East Hickman’s handling of Adamsville 53-27 2 weeks ago and Lewis County’s narrow except at home against Loretto 21-20. Which team moves past disappointing showings may determine the outcome of this game. Adamsville can still win the region, but it lives or dies at Lewis Co on Friday night. Lewis Co is playing for the chance for week 10 be for a region championship. Either way this game will go a long way in determining seeds for the playoffs. I pick LC by 1 or 2 scores. Scotts Hill 2-4 (0-2) at Hickman Co. 3-3 (0-2) Both teams will be playing for their playoff lives. The loser of this game will all but end their playoff chances while the winner will still be in the hunt. In comparing common opponents HC beat Perry Co 48-8 while SH won 21-6. HC lost to Riverside 0-37 and SH was defeated 7-54. HC and SHs combined 5 wins come against teams with a record of 2-22. This is anybody’s game and I give the edge to HC by 7+ points in a high scoring game.

I agree with Forrest, MTP, and Loretto win. Score prediction is F 14-7, MTP 20-14, L 36-34

I watch one of those games a few years back. If Cascade didn't have the believe factor then I would pick Forrest by 2 or 3 scores.

The two best games LC has played this year has been against the two Hickman Co teams. One is a good team and the other is not but has a 100-year history of rival. If LC plays with the same intensity that they played against those teams, then I feel pretty good about a win.

I think that Cascade has momentum and are going to be sky high for this game. Also, it is a home game and there should be a big crowd. There is a lot is on the line, but Forrest has been there before and for that reason I am picking Forest in a defensive battle 14-7.

I expect this to be a good game. Lewis Co has done well this year the the players that we have and starting a Freshmen QB. I think every team in both region 5 and 6 have the potential to beat the others with the exception of Riverside.

East Hickman was the best coached East team that I have every seen them have.

This will be the 71st meeting between the Panthers and the Mustangs. LC is currently on a 17 game winning streak against the Mustangs going back to 2000. There have been so many great games in the past especially in the 90's when Butch Toner was the coach at Loretto. If LC comes to play and contains Loretto's running game I think the Panthers will win.

As we conclude the midway point of the season, region 6 is take shape. As it stands today Riverside is what we thought were and are the cream of the crop in the region. Their first 2 wins against Hickman and Scotts Hill were comfortable, as anticipated. They are the team that everyone else is chasing. They have a big win at Lexington and their only loss was at Huntingdon. If they can maintain the intensity that they have played with thus far they may not have another close game until the playoffs. Lewis Co. also won their first 2 games against the Hickman Co boys of East and Centerville. After East Hickman’s big win against Adamsville the blowout win for LC is starting to look a bit more noteworthy. If things continue to unfold the final game of the year at RS could be for all the marbles, but home game with Adamsville and SH remain on the schedule and cannot be overlooked. East Hickman Is coming off a big win against Adamsville East and is sitting at 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the region. East can still make a run at the Region championship, but must beat RS, HC, and SH on the road. This is a tall task, but don’t sleep on East or you could walk away with a loss. Adamsville is not off to the start that many anticipated with upset losses at East Hickman and Chester Co. If they get on track and win out in the region a championship is still within their grasp. The East Hickman game was the start of a 4-game road trip that goes to LC in 2 weeks for a showdown that could have serious playoff implications. Hickman Co is reeling after opening the season with 2 wins. They have lost their last 3 games including 2 in the region against RS and LC. Their next 2 region games at home against Scotts Hill and East Hickman could go along way in determining if they can turn things around and make the playoffs. Scotts Hill is setting at 1-4 and 0-2 with losses to region favorite RS and Adamsville. Their next region game in 2 weeks against Hickman may determine their fate. Their playoff hopes may lie in the 4th slot if they take care of

I give praise to kids that have done well

The stats of the night has to be Blake Carroll with 8 carries for 112 yards and 2 TDs and 4 receptions for 104 and 2 TDS. Also Freshmen QB Bryson McDonald was 8-9 passing for 168 yards and 2 TDs. On a side note both of their Dads played for Coach Sharp (and both are better than their dads).

If this game was at Forrest I would pick an upset. Forrest players have to be gaining some confidence and momentum of late. I’m not sure force can pull it off at Marion County but I believe it will be a competitive game. If by chance forest does pull it off this is going to go a long way for A possible long run in the playoffs.

FACT - Of all the teams that LC has played at least 7 times since 1921. Only 5 of those 29 teams have a winning record against the Panthers (and Page is not one of them). In fact, Giles, Dickson, and Marshall are the only non-private school that have a winning record. You have continually shot your 2 bullets and they are blanks. I admit that I have had moments when I have enjoyed the Intellectual sparring, but it’s hard to refute a central point when the other side doesn’t have one or intellect for that matter. Oakland will win by a minimum of 3 TDs. I Concede that DL has done a great job recruiting some of the best athletes in the state, but they are not in the talent league with Oakland. The irony is the Oakland has had several transfers from private schools over the las few years.
