  1. Jack, your ignorance goes far beyond softball and I doubt anyone will be able to enlighten you. It's posts like yours that give a slanted view to what actually happened at State. I watched part of the GP/BBS championship game and I am not from Boyd. But it was not the BBS players or parents that were obnoxious. I heard more negative comments from GP parents and siblings (Pieroni's brother???) in one inning than I heard in all of the other games at Spring Fling. And want to talk about confidence. Why was Pieroni's brother giving pitching signs to the coach from the stands behind the catcher? I thought that was against TSSAA rules??? He knew it also because it stopped when a TSSAA official noticed it and sit down beside him. With talent like GP, it's sad to have to resort to cheating to win. Jack, with your posts, there's no doubt who you are. This post is aimed at you and a few other GP fans who's behavior at Spring Fling was immature and totally out of line for high school players. The majority of the GP parents are very good sports and support their teams without belittling the other team. Unfortunately, you and the other few bad apples are giving GP a bad name and the title of most obnoxious team in Tennessee. Congratualtions!!!
  2. Ives is good, but no where near as good behind the plate as Eason. Ives has too many passed balls and will not block low pitches. Like I said, they need Eason back to have a chance this year.
  3. They did. RBHS 7 BBS 2 In defense of Boyd, they had three players still in basketball and Eason is out from shoulder surgery. They need her bat and her defense behind the plate to have a chance this year. I'm not sure when she is suppose to be back? But Red Bank should have a good team this year. The have a lot of senior leadership that are all quality players. I don't think Boyd has any seniors on this years team. Don't count Red Bank out against Soddy this year.

What about them? They will have pitching, but no defense or hitting. Tiffany will do a good job and keep them in most games. But the defense will let them down again this year. But 2nd place in the district behind Boyd is not too bad.
  5. I'm not sure what her name is, but the catcher for Boyd Buchannan has a rifle for an arm. I've seen her before in other tournaments and I saw her play @ the FCA game yesterday. You better not get too far off of first, she will definitely shoot you down. She had one yesterday and if the 2nd basement had gotten to the base, she would had had another. At that point the leads go a lot shorter. She is also the leadoff batter and stole two bases. Unsure why the coach didn't send her the other two times when she was on base. Not sure about her name or grade, but will be playing college ball somewhere. I agree with the other posts. There are several good catchers in the state and plenty of colleges for all of them
  6. I agree with SuperSteve and Ezellsoftball. Goodpasture is the best team in any classification in Tennessee this year. They not only beat Soddy-Daisy, but they beat the team that beat Soddy in the Worth Tournament. Talk is cheap (which Soddy has a lot of), but my vote goes to Goodpasture as the #1 team in Tennessee.
  7. Yes I think Forrest is one of the top three, but I thought they were before they beat Ezell. Any team in Memphis can beat any other team, and that includes Goodpasture. But the favorites would have to be Boyd, Forrest, and Goodpasture, in no particular order. Good luck to all of the Class a teams in Memphis and congratulations on making it this far.
  8. Those were very impressive wins over Mt Pleasant and Community for Richland. I'm sure they will be state contenders!!! When ever Richland steps up and starts playing and beating some of the contenders in the other divisions like Goodpasture, Boyd-Buchannan, or Ezell, then we will consider one of the best in A. But who have they played at this point in the season.
  9. East Ridge has a very good team. They have young, but very good pitching in Adkins and Baker. The defense is excellent and they have a strong bench to support. They will definitely be in Memphis in May.
  10. BBS has one of the top freshmen classes in the state. Brittany Eason is a great defensive catcher and hits for both power and average. Brittany Thomas is also on that team and she has a great glove and is a contact hitter. They may be the 2 best freshmen in Chattanooga area. In all, BBS has 8 freshmen on the varsity team. East Ridge also has several starting freshman. Tiffany Baker is the best and she can hit for power and also contributes with a 60+ fastball. Brandi Cox will also see a lot of action for East Ridge. GPS has two freshmen that wil contribute in Whitney Bell and Emily Boynston. Of course, Brittany Rice at Ooltewah is a very talented freshmen, but comes with a lot of baggage.
  11. UTC & UCLA???? How did we get into college teams? Stay focused here for us, we are talking about high school sports. Call it what you want to, Weasel, relocating or recruiting. If you can't see thru it, you need more help than we can give you here. You seem to know a lot about other area teams. Give me some softball players names that were recruited to Boyd. Put up or shut up!!!
  12. The bottom line is that Soddy has a very fine coach in Clifford with several championships to show for it, both at Hixson and SD. Players have relocated to help form these championship teams and to learn from Clifford's years of experience. I don't think that Clifford recruits by any means. But I think that the winning program "recruits" and all of the players did not come from the SD area. They have relocated simply for the purpose of playing on Clifford's team. If Clifford had been at Central or East Ridge, then they would have moved there. So for this reason, I would be careful when I referred to Boyd-Buchannan recruiting players. They are very similiar in that they have a winning tradition that draws plyers to their program.
  13. Lauren is a good player at the high school level with a great attitude. As far as I know, she doesn't play summer ball and would probably be a good "B" ball player if she did. But in my opinion, Cara Stiles at Soddy Daisy is by far the best outfielder in the Chattanooga area. She plays for one of the best "A" ball teams in the Chattanooga area. Cara will be able to go on and play at the next level and I don't think Lauren will make it. Both players will contribute to their high school teams.
  14. Weasel, How about Cooper? She moved into the Soddy area for her freshman year so she wouldn't have to sit out? She lived in the North Ga/East Ridge area up until that point. Hmmm, how convenient???? There's others, such as the twins, that have done the same thing. Like Weasel said, as far as we know there's nothing illegal about it. Who knows why they all of a sudden these softball families decided to move into Clifford's area. Duh, I'm sure it had nothing to do with Soddy softball???? Also like Deisel said, you're ignorant!!!
