How can it be a backwards pass when the reciever is on the line of scrimmage and the QB takes one step back after the snap. One of many bad calls of the night. I was there and just got home RIDGEWAY was robbed by many bad calls.

It is now time for the men to continue weekly to play while the boys look for some other form of entertainment on Friday nights. So how about it Ridgeway Roadrunners are you ready? I'm sure Hardin County is!

Michael Earheart from Ridgeway is an excellant long snapper. He makes the punters and holders job alot easier.

Will Hudgens from Ridgeway High School was highlighted tonight on Fox Sports News "Countdown to Recruiting Day" as one of the 4 top QB in the South. Way to go Will and good luck.

Something similar happened in Germantown with two baseball players transfering to Germantown from another school because their parents split up. The moms moved in together so the boys could go to Gtown. At the end of the season their parents got back together. Their transfer held up through the TSSAA. I dont know if any papers were filed but it looked awful fishy at the time they were both seniors. I think once the TSSAA rules that it should stand. But alot of investigating should go into it before the ruling comes. It is amazing what some people will do to get their kids on a team.

Ridgeway vs East Friday night had its share. Several pass interference calls overlooked but the worst was when East had the ball the clock was running, the ball was blown into play with 35 sec. on the clock, the clock ticked down to 8.5 sec. before East a called time out. Already one missed call delay of game you only have 25 sec. to put ball into play but nothing called. Then East back to punt snaps punter runs to the sideline slides down the whistle is blown the clock stops with .02 sec. the ball should be turned over to Ridgeway for one last play instead the clock is started and let run out. Game over East wins 14-7. I'm not saying that Ridgeway could have scored but they should have been given the chance.

Melrose has more talent then East and their offense will run all over them. East has a big offensive line but Melrose will be able to match up in the middle. East's defense should be no match for Melrose's speed. So no doubt that Melrose will be #1 in 8-4A.

I thought the QB from Melrose was listed as an athlete instead of a QB. What exactly does that mean?

Ridgeway went to Portland in '02 and the train whistle was blowing constantly because Portland was running all over us. However last year when we returned we didn't hear the train horn but maybe once. Ridgeway found a way to stop the blowing, they played football and ran all over Portland. It is not much fun to blow a whistle when your losing 21-0. Ridgeway 3A Statechampions 2003!!!!!!

It was my understanding that WS top receiver went down early with an injury. Also several missed attempts on extra point kicks and conversions. White Station may be "overrated" but I feel this year is just the begining for them. They soon will be a powerhouse in Memphis again with Coach Major White leading the way, he has turned the progam around.

Ridgeway breaks into the 4A with a record of 5-1 (1-1) in regional play. The next step will be to get by East. Good Luck. You have a week to get ready.

In football if you slack off on a hit or a block you can be injured so you have to give it all you have. Put your JV in and let them get some experince of playing what they are bound to be facing in the year to come.

I don't think there was any bad blood between the teams I just think frustration took over. After the game hands were shaken and not fist both teams joined at midfield for a prayer.

We went for two the last two because on an earlier attempt at an extra point a BTW player jumped off sides by about a mile and came in to take out the holder. Who is the first string QB. Instead of placing someone else as a sitting duck we just tried to run it in. The second half were only 8 min. quarters also agreed on by both coaches at the half.

Ridgeway kicks off BTW fumble inside 30yd line. Ridgeway 2 plays scores. Ridgeway kicks off BTW fumble this did happen the 1st 2 or 3 times first string plays 1st quarter and 5 min. of 2nd. freshmen come in and play 4th. We would have had to hand them the ball for them to score. one of their punts actually only went 5 yards no rush. I don't know the actual yards or anything but I do know that BTW only made one first down.

ECS is coming off a big loss to CBHS this can sometimes motivate a team to step up a notch.

Many schools kicking games don't even get off the ground because they don't have anyone who can get the ball snapped. I've even seen it in college games. I think they need to be recognized for a job well done. Micheal Earheart of Ridgeway has done a great job the past 2 years.

Let's not forget about the longsnapper. If your kicker can't get the ball to him he can't kick. So rah rah for all the longsnappers on those teams that have the "Best Kickers" in the state.

With a score of 81-0 you would think that a coach ran the score up, but I can tell you from expericence that it didn't happen. Ridgeway played BTW of Memphis Thursday night and took the starters out in the 2nd quarter with 8 min. left. The JV and freshman both played and all scored. The second half ran 8 min. quarter instead of 12. They ran the ball all night and only threw 5 passes. However because of a unsportsman like penalty, one of BTW's players taking out the holder for and extra point attempt Ridgway went for 2 on the last 2 TD's so no one would get hurt. The true class came after the game when the teams met at midfield for shaking of hands, they did just that shook hands. The unsportsmanship of one player did not spoil the night for the rest of the players. This match up should never have happened but due to the lack of games Ridgeway had to fill their schedule with a lesser opponent.

I think it shows that if you get a young new coach that the team can look up to that he can turn a program around. Good luck to Coach Wright and the Spartans.

Ridgeway wins another nail bitter when they traveled to Webb City Missouri Friday night. 31-24 in 4 ots. The score at the end of regulation was 17-17. Missouri rules for overtime differs from Tn. each team gets the ball on the 25. It was very exciting and the atmosphere of the game was unbelievable. I think everyone in town showed up for the game.

I attended a game at Melrose 2 weeks ago when Ridgeway played them, I thought it was wonderful to have such a great show of the love of football. I also attended the CBHS / Germantown game last week the crowds were about the same in size the only difference is at Melrose the crowd came to see the game not what someone was wearing. The only bad thing I found at Melrose was the parking so we made arrangements to take fan buses. Sure you have trash talk during the game but I never felt that there was going to be any trouble between fans or players. After the game Ridgeway went to the center of the field like we do every game and many Melrose supporters were heard telling our boys that they did a good job in a very sportmanship way. My hat is off to any community that can support their team in this way.
