  1. It was a great game. I really thought Clay County had the better team, but they just couldn't put Perry County away when they had 'em down. Perry county kept it close and when the two Clay County girls were playing with 4 fouls each, I figured it would just be a matter of time. Sure enough....the difference in the game was those two girls fouling out with nearly 5 min. left to play. Had they not fouled out, I don't think Perry County could have pulled it out. It was interesting watching the coaching strategy during the last 10 min. of the game. One coach trying to keep his players from fouling out, and the other, obviously, telling his girls to take it to 'em and draw a foul. Glad I stopped by to see this game. Thanks to both teams for a great show. Good luck to Perry County during the rest of the tourney.
  2. 85 Warrior and 90 Warrior, exactly what are you implying? Are you saying that girls or their parents paid to come to Shelbyville? Or do the $$$$$ signs indicate that if girls go to Shelbyville, they may very likely get a college scholarship which will save their family lots of $$$$$? I am not from Shelbyville, but I do marvel at their success. Not being a rival player, coach, or parent, my views are not tainted by the emotion or jealousy. I can certainly understand why parents would want their daughters to play for Coach Insell.
  3. Have to agree. What was the purpose of the post?
  4. Am I mistaken, or is there a little excitement in the air in Lawrence County?
  5. What are you planning to teach me? What do you charge? And, are you worth it?
  6. Shelbyville girls won 45 - 19
  7. I go to a lot of games and a lot of tournaments...and consequently, to a lot of hospitality rooms. They are exactly what they say...a show of hospitality....a place for VIPs (using the term loosely) to gather and visit away from the rush of the crowd. The amount and variety of finger foods varies from place to place, but that what it is intended to be...finger foods to snack on while folks visit. If you are hungry enough to want dinner, eat before you go to the game instead of criticizing someone's attempt to do something for you for FREE.
  8. Michael is probably headed to Northeast Mississippi Junior College and then on to one of those MS schools, Old Miss, maybe. FHSrebel, you are so right. Academics are more important than many young kids realize. At least they don't realize it early enough. If you haven't really applied yourself by the time you take the ACT, it doesn't matter how many times you take it your senior year. Let this be a warning to all young players....apply yourself to your academic endeavors...seriously.
  9. That answer is simple....NO. There is no way Lincoln County will be able to reload at all those positions. How do you replace TWO Mr. Footballs. plus the outstanding supporting cast they had? The Falcons may go 5-5 next year.
  10. What I found interesting about this comment is that "internetpolice" just joined coacht.com a few days ago, Feb. 24, 2004, and his/her ONLY post was an attempt to expose the identity of another coacht.com member. That doesn't say a whole lot for "internetpolice." I'm sure he/she picked that name to lend credence to an unfounded statement. To use his own words, "Kinda sad." And I can't believe those of you who swallow this...hook, line, and sinker....just because someone with a name like that makes ONE post. What makes that person any more believeable that anyone else?
  11. Sounds like you have the "Golden Rule" memorized pretty well. You know, that's the one about "Do unto others...."
  12. What did you expect to find on a thread ABOUT Shelbyville. To answer your question about "WHO CARES?" obviously, there are several pages of folks who care enough to voice their opinion. If you don't want to read about Shelbyville, then don't open a thread which has Shelbyville in the heading. That's a nobrainer.
  13. If he came up with a 30 on his ACT, I'm pretty sure some D-1 school could find something to give him.
  14. unless he gets his ACT score up, he'll be at a JUCO somewhere.
  15. What kind of question is that???? Lincoln County's fans don't even make the trip to their own gym to see their Falcons...who happen to be 0-whatever...there was one "win" by forfeit. Would you make that trip?
  16. That was mighty generous of you. I think Lincoln County lost way to much to be much of a threat next year.
  17. All this talk about MVP selection reminded me of Tiffany Woosley, who played basketball at Shelbyville. She was MVP of the REGION, MVP of State Tournament, NATIONAL Player of the Year in USA Today, BUT she was NOT MVP of her District. One reason...petty jealousy among coaches where the kid became the victim of their biased voting. Not saying that this was the case on this thread, but anytime coaches vote on players, many things other than stats come into play. Politics is alive and well amongst high school coaches.
  18. Congratulations to Coach P. He is a good man. Good luck, Coach. Now, Page has a good new principal and a good new coach. They are going somewhere.
  19. With all due respect to Sevier County...and they are due much respect, don't place too much emphasis on that USA Today ranking. Shelbyville showed us how much that poll means. Good luck to Sevier County for a great season.
  20. Is that Wilson Central, Columbia Central, Coffee County Central, Montgomery Central, or one of the many other "Centrals" in Tennessee?
  21. No way would I choose Wolke over Edmiston...and I saw both of them several times.
  22. When you have won as much as Shelbyville has, even 5 losses don't dampen the spirits. The later in the season it gets, the harder it would be for me to bet against the Eaglettes. They've been there and done it too many times. I'm a believer. Shelbyville 60 Blackman 48
