Maybe people don't want to put personal info all over the message board

sauza, McMinn may not be able to compete year in and year out with Farragut and Bearden, there are not many teams who can, but don't be fooled they have a lot of young talent. If it develops and lives up to its potential then they have a shot. Don't say that they will never get there because you never know when a team can put it together at just the right time and make a good run. I agree about the first statement in the thread, I'm not sure what he was thinking, McMinn may do it one year but I would not have said this one when they drew that game.

Chattanooga Times-Free Press does a pretty good job on High School sports. They do some sports better than others and guys soccer probably gets better coverage than girls but I would say that overall it is good.

Sweetwater and Sequoyah (i'm not sure if I spelled that right). Is a great rivalry. While sweetewater is getting better and Sequoyah does not seem to be. This is what is leftover of the old Sweetwater/Madisonville rivalry. These are always BIG games for these two teams.

Ooltewah won't schedule McCallie or Baylor because the principal won't let them. I, the coach last year, had both of them scheduled and was told by the administration to take them off. So don't knock the team for something that is beyond thier control. As far as I know Ooltewah is the only school in the area that is NOT ALLOWED by its administration to play Baylor and McCallie.

Despite their loss to Grace I think that McMinn County is probably the best AAA team in the area. The McCallie/Baylor question can only be solved on the field. I am sure that they will be playing more than once this year. [Edited by kcteagle on 4-2-03 9:16A] [Edited by kcteagle on 4-2-03 9:17A]

I would agree that on that night Boyd was the better team. You guys got into our heads and made us play your game. The loss cannot be blamed on field conditions, Boyd beat us. You guys are to be congratulated for that. As for me (the coach) going "psycho". You had to have been in my shoes to know what really happend. In the regional final we played pretty good in the last 10 minutes of overtime. Soddy played their hearts out that night and played a good game.

Coach Turner is also a great coach and having met him as an opposing coach he is also a great guy. I don't know him personally but in my dealings with him he was nice. But as far as coaching to do what he has done on both girls and boys programs is great.

If Coach Hayes is the guy that did the boys last season I would agree. Only saw two games but they were both post season and he had his teams ready.

This should probably be as good a game as they have been in the past. Neither team really seems to be standing out above the other, but it is still early. With the game being late in the season it may only determine where they play again at McCallie or at Baylor (in the playoffs) [Edited by kcteagle on 3-27-03 6:34P]

DAVINCI22... this will be my last post directed to you so I want to make sure that I address everything. So this might get a little long. You are right we are not "good buddies". We never have been and probably won't be. You have the right to call me Kevin if you would like. As for the bench. I am sorry that you feel that I made a mistake not allowing the bench to do its thing (i.e. making fun of other players, etc...) That is not the type of program that I run. If it is a mistake then it is one that will follow me as long as I coach, I expect my players to have more respet for thier opponents than that. They deserve it as do the players on my team. I did make mistakes as coach but they are not ones that you or anyother plyer would have seen or know about. However controlling the bench had nothing to do with our success or failure. I never said Justin "turned down" an offer from a D1 school. I simply said that he could have played there but chose his future. I agree that it is a shame that Justin was not able to attend and play at a larger or even D1 school. If I have misrepresentd him then I am sorry. Justin if you happen to read this then I apologize for any false information that I might have spread. I looked through the post and cannot find where I said anything about cussing. But that is unimportant. Davinci22.. All that I ask is that when you specifically refer to me that you tell the truth. Please do not try and spread anymore lies about me or what happend when I was the coach of the team. That's funny Grant. I have only one name and am not creating new names. I am not attacking people. I am simply stating the truth that you are misrepresenting. If you feel that you are being attacked by other screenames then that needs to be taken up with them. I would not do such a thing and will not do that. You are telling lies and I am simply telling the truth. I never chased after any officals, again you are telling lies. I simply want to make sure that the information that you are spreading about me is the truth, and that is not the case. By the way "running joke of the squad"? What are you talking about? I would just like to know. You are correct about not seeing a ref change because of coach yelling at him. That is a good point. That was something that I learned in my first years as a coach to correct whenever I start coaching again. Oh and I do teach my classes, it doesn't take that long to type. Davinci... did you not read my post about Jutin? He chose to goto Tennessee Tech because of what he wants to do later. It was not a soccer decision.

Davinci... You should use the advice in the statement "It is better for people to think you are a fool than to open your mouth and prove it." You need to know what you are talking about before you give details to a situation. Espically when you are accusing people of doing things that did not happen.

Takedown3.... Justin Givens scoring 23 goals in a year and being player of the year seems like pretty good use to me. Also Justin had the chance to go and play D1 soccer and chose insted to goto a school that had the program that he was looking for. Not everything in the world relvoves around D1 athletic programs. Just like the recent commerical says. Threre are over 360,000 student athletes in the NCAA and most of them are not going to be professionals in something other than their sport. I allpaud Justin for his choice to look to his long term future and happines, not short term glory.

Refowl... All that I have to say is 14-6-1. District and Region Champs (undefeated in district and region play). 1st region championship since 1993. Where was all that before?????

REFOWL... The Boy's program doesn't need turning around as I recall we did very well last year. Davinci... What about football? You said in a differnt group that you played football. I don't remember that.
