I have noticed some people are complaining that Cookeville is not in the top ten, nor are they even mentioned. Franklin has lost 1 game to Father Ryan and is mentioned while Cookeville lost only 1 game to the #3 team in overtime in week 0 and haven't lost yet. So why is Franklin mentioned and Cookeville not?

That was probably one of the nastiest injuries I have ever seen! Glad his leg will be okay and he didn't lose his leg or anything.... I am also glad that he is not a senior and has another year to play. Jonathon Abraham at Ooltewah tore his ACL, MCL, and Miniscus (spelling) in the first game of the season vs. Cookeville. Unfortunately this is his senior year and doesn't have another yeat to come back... Glad to hear that the Hixson player is doing better. I know everyone was concerned.

I agree, Cookeville was probably the most smortsmanlike team I've played against. The players, the fans, and the coaches all had respect for each other.

Hixson by 6.... btw... what ever happened to the kid that dislocated his knee in the Hixson v. Ooltewah scrimmage in the preseason?

Ooltewah is treating Blount like they're a top state team.... There is no underestimating.... But Ooltewah has Chatt. Central to worry about... they can't look past a rival game... The focus will be on Blount after the game Friday.

Two weeks ago I would have said Soddy by a lot! But having played against Rhea County and hearing about the Soddy struggles this one will probably go in favor of Rhea Co. Rhea by 14.

Rivalry games can always go either way, no matter how lopsided the teams look on paper.

Mullinax got out when he could?! Great leader! I don't know, I just think that its very unadmirable when a coach decides not to take a challenge of a young team. Also, it would be very tough to succeed with so many sophomores starting... Ooltewah started a lot of sophomores in 2003 and went 3-7. Last year, with that same group being juniors the Owls went 8-3, and now with that same group being seniors, the Owls are 2-0 so far...

Any team is capable of beating any other team on any night, this includes McMinn Co. being able to beat Ooltewah and Chatt. Central being able to beat Ooltewah.

There isn't any way this thread will end up being 30 some odd pages like the guys ooltewah soccer thread was last spring. How come no one ever talks in the girls' soccer threads..?

Hopefully it will pay off for the girls.... It didn't end up paying off at all for the guys last spring...

Brian Marshall is a sophomore who also plays basketball and is nationally recognized in track.

It's stupid to say that Soddy is going to be the Bradley Central.... Soddy has one of the best coaches in the state and some talent to go along with that. I strongly believe they will reboud and play a competitive game against the likes of Oak Ridge, Ooltewah, and Farragut.

Silverdale is a tiny school that takes a lot of trash talk from the bigger schools because Silverdale still is not respected by any of the bigger schools in Chattanooga simply because of its size and not being able to compete in most sports with the schools in Chattanooga. This is just their first year in TSSAA.

It'd probably be best not to call out specific players negatively... It's not very polite. You can't just call out one person for a team sport. Ryan didn't give up any TD's last night and he even was able to keep his composure after a terrible pass interference call. Ryan handles himself very well considering his size. Don't call out one of my boys.
