Best ball game of the year Milan has been in. Hill dominated the 1st half for Westview with over 150 yds rushing. Westview 21-13 @ the 1/2. Milan went to work on both sides of the ball holding Westview to less than 25 yds the 2nd half and Rod Smith for Milan ran hard all night with 2nd and 3rd efforts ended up withover 200 yds rushing. Great game both teams.

Greenfield is pretty tough for a Single A team. Of course it was to their benfit that coaches were officiating and they seemed to get away with a lot, but reguardless they will be a contender in 1A. Milan beat Greenfield, Henry County beat JCM (I think) JCM and Henry County defeated Milan (Milans' 1st srimmage and they were missing several players) as JCM may be also with football. Greenfield beat Henry County. 4 teams pretty evenly matched that day.

DC and Milan scrimaged today. DC was missing Byrd and Milan was missing both Smith and Adkisson. DC won the 1st 16-10, Milan won the 2nd 17-11, DC won the 3rd 21-5 (milan played some jv) DC won the 4th 16-15 and Milan won the 5th 20-18. Good overall scrimmage.

Milan Middle School girls fianlly have a coach. It shows. After years of suffering, they are on a roll. They are 5-0 after a 46-35 victory over USJ. Before that the average score was 47-15 in their favor. If there are any AAU coaches looking for talent 7th or 8th grade MMS is loaded. See you @ the TNT

shold be in the best shape they have been all year. Everyone is finally healthy. They pretty much rested the defense against Humboldt and everyone rested against Oakhaven. If Walker can become like Beasley and catch every thing he should catch, look out Blue Cross bowl.

Milan dominated Oakhave 42-6 and Huntindon is upset by Fairview 16-15, Westview is trailing Carver late 22-20, Trenton is losing 22-0 late and Union City is beating BTW 20-0 late.

runs a whole lot more than they pass, especially now that their QB is out. Their line is big and quick and block very well for the 2 lightning quick running backs they have. They run a lot of student body sweeps and are good @ getting linemen out there to block

Peabody over Mitchell, Southside could upset Marshall as they have the size, speed, etc but seem to be lacking heart and that plays a big part come playoff time. Huntingdon I hear lost their QB so that could have a bearing on that game.

A fan can film just as long as a tripod is not involved. I have seen this somewhere o the TSSAA website. If this person is involved with Lewis County in an official way, then touble may be brewing. I would hope the staff of Lewis County would be smart enough not to view this tape. All they have to do is ask and I'm sure coaches will swap film, it is done all the time.

Milan has a tough schedule next year although they may have their 5th state championship with it @ the end. Henry County, Covington, Union City, Westview, JCM, Trenton, Dresden, Humboldt, Huntingdon and Manassas.

Not that it matters that much but 26 is the max on regular season games. For a home and home schedule that is 13 away games, some on Friday and some on Saturday and some during Christmas break, so 5 or 6 mid-week games in 3 months is not bad. Looking @ milans' schedule they have 5 mid-week away games 3 are 15 min. away and 2 are 30 min away. Just good scheduling I guess.

But some only have 4 in the districts they are in now what would they do. Depending on where the breaking point is, they might stay the same. Then agian if there are less districts there could even be more per district.

I have not taken the time to break this down, but it seems to me that if 4 or 5 classes in basketball existed, there would be fewer districts in each class than exist now. instead of 16 in AA for example there might only be 8 districts. 2 districts in each 1/4 of the state. I do not see any more traveling with that in mind, than I do now.

My understanding of this is that it would be to hard to get the districts and regions matched up. The way they have it now is still hard for some teams because they have to travel so far and thats is what they want to try to cut down is the travel. Up until last year you could not travel any further than Camden vs Bolivar for a district game. It is minimum 2 hours one way for what used to be a district game. Still today Milan vs Camden or milan vs riverside is a 1 hour drive. humboldt vs Bolivar or Mcnairy is a 1 hour drive. Trenton vs Mitchell is 1-1/2 hour drive. There are still some long travel times.
