  1. And the Chattanooga AAA teams get grouped with the Murfreesboro & Tullahoma area teams for sub-section. We don't put ourselves in Middle Tn, TSSAA does it for us!!!!!
  2. You will definitely need well over 6 feet to win state in high jump. I would think 22 feet might get you to state but it probably won't win. Maybe 23+ to win in AAA.
  3. leen from baylor and gibson from bradley Best match was west of bradley's 2 ot win and for d2 was at 119.
  4. In AAA last year, three guys were over 50. Eighth place was 43 and some change. You can see the results at the TSSAA website for the last few years. Good luck.
  5. Hey CherokeeChief, tell Michael that the loud month lady that kept yelling at him during the mile was me. And tell him he did alright!!! Can't wait to getting my running banter going with him again.
  6. Way to go Bears!! Wish we could have been there instead of being at an indoor track meet, but we'll catch you next week.
  7. TNWAREAGLE, please tell Kellen he is definitely in our prayers. And from someone who knows first hand, please tell him that no matter what, God definitely knows what he's doing. We may never understand why. I know as a parent, it is tough to see your child in such pain, both physically and emotionally. We are here for you, Kellen, Jim, and Jackie anytime you need us. Love you guys. Mare & Liz
  8. Way to go Bears!!!! Way to go Spain!!! Wish I could have been there!! I assume Bryant's ankle is doing fine? Go Bears!!
  9. Does anyone know why Bryant Blackmon forfeited against SD?
  10. The girls especially don't like it. For Bradley, it is the same day as the Valentine's dance. It was the same story last year. We left early, but this year we will stick it out through Liz's events. Then we'll rush back, so that hopefully she can make at least part of the dance. I really wish the meet would get away from that weekend, but then it would conflict with the wrestling tournaments and that wouldn't make her happy either. Ah, life is full of tough choices!
  11. I thought you were. And that's what I was referring to when talking about Lamar and Shon. I think we may have people at both events since Coach Cotton has a good AAU program in the summer and then again after cross-country. Interesting side note, I got to see a great race in the girls 500 meters at VTU. Two girls broke the NATIONAL Record with the winner passing the 2nd place girl at the finish after number 2 had led the entire race. The girl that won was just a freshman. It was a banked track and that was a problem for a lot of kids. I've never seen so many kids fall off the track in all my life. I guess we'll see you guys on the 14th.
  12. Which UT indoor meet are we talking about. The Vol Classic is Feb 14th and the AAU meet is the 28th. I would look for Lamar Thompson from Bradley to do very well at both long jump and triple jump. He finished fifth at the Virginia Tech invitational in long jump and 18th in triple jump. Shon Lowe was 18th in 55 meter hurdles after his heat had four false starts, otherwise he might have done better. This was a big event with up to 300 competitiors in some events. I've seen Ashton in years past at AAU meets and she is incredible. I wish her the best of luck. Not only is she good at track, but she is just a great all-around young lady.
  13. Does anyone know why Matt Bailey was not at 215 for Bradley on Saturday? Is he hurt? Will he make it back? I know this is his senior year.
  14. Was Tanner Johnson at 103? I don't think Andy could make that weight again. He is really, really tall to cut to 103.
  15. try one of the sunburn sprays, just make sure you don't get it in your eyes.
  16. I would really like to see the kids from our area do well this year. Not just Bradley or McMinn or Brainerd, but all of them. Some kids have the talent but not the work ethic, some have the work ethic but not as much talent. And a few have both. Those are the one's who go far. Best of luck in the coming season and tell everyone to stay healthy
  17. This is Mom again. She will be at VOLS classic although she may not be happy. Valentine's dance will be the same day, and her events will be ran late. She plans to run her races and then race back to the dance. She may run some hurdles at the classic. Bradley is blessed with more distance runners than sprinters, so there may be some times she may have to run the sprints. As Coach told her, any running event was open to her as the need arose. She'll do some field events too, especially those to get ready for pentathalon. She missed that last year because she just couldn't hurdle, but she has a her confidence back again in hurdling. She had a nasty fall two years ago in 100 meter hurdles but came back in 200 (AAU runs those at her age) and qualified for the Jr. Olympics. She also qualified in pentathalon that year. She is excited about running again, now that it doesn't hurt all the time. I do hate how the events line up because she would really love to run the 800, 400, and 300 hurdles. She said she saw you and a lot of your guys at the New Year's Eve run. So I know your guys are running.
  18. Hmmm... Well I am aiming for a 2:20 but right now I can tell you I am not close. Hopefully by Best Of Preps I will be but otherwise I just want to win my races. Last year I was fighting off tendonitis in both of my knees, but so far this year I seem to be in good health(knock on wood) but we will just have to see this weekend I guess with my first race at TSU.
  19. This is 800TrackMom's Daughter. My offseason is going alright. We have just been preparing for our first meet next Sunday for indoor at TSU. I run the 800 and haven't even got to practice one yet all I do is sprints inside since it's so cold. We've been getting pretty crazy with the weight room though. I guess you could say the weight room has got kind of beastly workouts take forever. The running though is just inside doing suicides and stuff like that. I get a workout but I'm not sure my 800 will be at the time I would like it to be. Oh by the way one day me and a friend were going to run a 5 mile and it started snowing, barely but it was snowing!!
  20. Matt Spain has improved so much. I hope Cleveland isn't counting on winning at 145. Matt is one of the most improved wrestlers. Matt is proof of what you can accomplish by hard work. Good luck to Matt, Justin, and all the Bears!
  21. I think there is at least some history to show that beating a team really increases Bradley's confidence. Last year against Cleveland the first game was close, the second game was close, and then in the last two Bradley showed what they were made of. Coach Smith won't let these guys get the big head, but this will definitely be a confidence booster (as if the Bears needed it). Glad to see Wes have a great game. Congratulations Bears!!
  22. Are you sure about the Bradley Country school system statement? I've never heard that. I believe Bradley played Baylor in Basketball last year. And by the way Notre Dame, which is a D II school is wrestling at the Bradley tournament tonight and tomorrow.
  23. Well, the Bradley-Franklin matchup never came off. Seems Bradley made it to the finals but Ringgold beat Franklin. Last time I heard, Bradley was beating Ringgold by 32-0. Sorry that I don't have more info than that.
  24. For anyone who is interested. Bradley is in the finals against either Franklin or Ringgold Ga. Sorry I don't know who won between those two so I don't know who will be going against Bradley. Collins Hill had Bradley behind by 12-3 (I think, don't quote me on that)when the Bradley hosses took over. Justin Spain pinned at 152, Quinn pinned at 160, Bryant pinned at 171, Cooper won, Bailey won, the freshman HW won (sorry I can't remember his name), Morris won, Tinsley won, and Cordell won. Jesse Baker also won. I'm sure some of those guys who won pinned but I didn't write it down so I don't want to get it wrong. If I hear who the other team is in the finals, I'll post. GO BEARS!!
