  1. I think it was in double A last year or the year before. Memphis open zoning is one thing but if this cat is 23 and playing that's ridiculous!
  2. Kesterson broke and dislocated a finger/knuckle in the game against Dresden. She's not worth 30 pts but is a difference maker.
  3. South Gibson lost in Memphis two years ago in the first round of region. I don't remember to who but I do remember they got throttled by Middleton in the semis. I think trader is spot on about the whole free agent thing. 3A in Memphis is strong and 2A ain't shabby either. And with guys athleticism can take you a long way where as with girls it is more about fundamentals and coaching. That's why Memphis is so different in guys and girls.
  4. It almost like the Tenn River has to be the cutoff and they dont want schools going across it for District games. You would have to put some of the 15A schools you mentioned into 12A and some of the 13A schools in 10A. Just a big shift eastward for some schools and that would even it out. I'd see one of those Google maps they make for the football playoffs with all the districts and see how close or far schools are from each other. I'm sure there are enough that are close enough to another district that it could be done to where there is 6-8 in each one.
  5. I actually saw him at the UC game @ Greenfield. I said I'd be surprised if there was a sweep, so........ SURPRISE!!
  6. Well I'm the first to admit when im wrong. If everybody says it then ill roll with it.
  7. Pretty sure what's on the website is right.
  8. If 14A sweeps the Tounament goes to SF. http://tssaa.org/schdir/tournaments/tournament.cfm?theSport=Basketball Scroll down a little ways. The T$$AA approves and sets the region. Schools get to vote on where they want to host it but the don't have the final say.
  9. It is a about 1 hour 45 mins by bus I believe. About as far if you go to Loretto which is in District 12 with Perry Co, Wayne Co etc. You might lose some of your current district/region rivalries if you had a mass realignment but you would still be able to play those games because if you keep district size to 6-8 teams you have plenty of non district games to do it. You will have some long bus rides no matter what you do so. Some places like Middleton and Lake County are stuck in no mans man.
  10. Galille, how are y'all going to work your district schedule next year? Are all 14 teams listed on T$$AA website going to field varsity teams? I'm very interested because it seems like a headache as far as scheduling goes.
  11. The other district (15) only has 7 teams so then you run into seeding issues cause you obviously can't take 8 from a 7 team district. So if you only take 4 from district 15 who are the 8 from district 16 going to play? But on the plus side your idea means more games which means more gates which means more $$. And we all who likes $$....
  12. I don't see a 14A sweep in the Lady Tornado Invitational. Gleason and Dresden are really good at home. One of those two win. Hopefully it's Gleason.
  13. All you get is 24 regular season games. So not sure how that'll work. Have to use Hall of Fame games to play rivals. Unless they do a division system like some have done in football and baseball but I don't care much for the idea. You wouldn't want to send them to Jackson because of the travel. I say split them into two 7 team districts. Then move other teams in the state around to make them fit into the remaining 15 districts. Doesn't make sense to have 14 teams playing for four spots in one area and 6 teams playing for four spots in another area.
  14. You finish second and you get Middleton. Even at home not a gimme. Don't see it happening.
  15. If you're waiting on them to come up a fair system, please don't hold your breath. They asked the schools if they liked the current Z plan for the football playoffs, majority said no, they kept it the way it is. Why you asked? Cause it made a lot more of these $$$ than it would if they changed it. I agree 14 teams is beyond too many in 1 district. Ideally 6 to 8 across the board would be best. In the West Section of 1A you have 4 districts of 9,9,7, and 14 in the next classification period. Thats 39 teams playing for 2 spots. In the other sections you have 28,25, and 26 playing for 2 spots each. 16A got jobbed, and 13A,14A, and 15A got licked as well. But its all done for the sake of travel so they say. And I see where they are coming from. 2 hour bus rides on school nights are no good. The only district in the state with 4 teams next period is 13AAA which is a hodge podge of big rural schools that are out in the middle of nowhere and only 2 districts statewide have 5 teams. (7A and 4AA) Class 2A and 3A are pretty even as far as numbers in each district/section go and I don't see it changing especially in 3A where schools are clustered so close to bigger cities. However as usual small schools get the shaft and football rules the roost. -Steps down from soapbox-
  16. I'm with the Rat. GC with Butler, Reedy, and Griffin were 70-1 in two years. Not playing Big Sandy and Carroll Academy either.
  17. GC you are in 14A along with the 8 that are currently in it. No one got moved out. 40 teams in the West Tenn 1A Section compared to an average of around 25 in the other 3 sections. But that's a different thread for a different time!
  18. T$$AA website has Peabody as alternate site. T$$AA controls region tournament so not sure if it will go to the #1 seed or not. Pretty sure Board or Legislative Council votes on the site.
  19. Decatur Co lost 1 I believe.
  20. There is only one player out at the moment, that's Shay. Not sure on a return date. The past week they've had different ones miss time with mild concussion symptoms, kidney stones, and other various nagging bumps and bruises but never 4 out at once.
  21. In the event of a tie Greenfield has tiebreaker over Humboldt because of victory of Union City. The way I understand it after head to head they look at record against other teams starting with #1 seed.
  22. Jackson Sun has Greenfield winning by 1. 68-67 I believe.
  23. Didn't see Greenfieldfan or Vol at the game last night so they are excused. We got into some early foul trouble and played in a funk the rest of the night. South Fulton is very talented, fast, and long. They also have some depth. Created a lot of trouble for us match up wise. Everytime we made a shot in the 2nd half that I thought might spark a run SF had an answer. I think we cut it to 2 at some point in the 2nd Quarter but it went back up to 10 and stayed that way til we had to foul in the last minutes of the 4th. Just did not play well and SF did.
  24. SF beat Greenfield 64-46. Game stayed SF up about 10 points till the end and SF hit FTs and Greenfield didnt score.
  25. I put it on the boys page but for those who don't look at that board Bradford at Greenfield has been postponed to Thursday the 17th.
