  1. Untrue my L.C. friend. Twas the 99 season with such talent as Billy McMillan, Tre Wright, Timmie Cobb, Wes Snow, Wes Bunch, Jason Inan, Shaun Settle, Eric Perez, and the infamous "Shannon Twins". Eric Perezs' "fake quad stretch" P.K. in triple overtime that sent L.C. packing to go home and Kingston packing.....to goto state. Do some research before you speak. Dont let you being bias of a team get in the way of important information.
  2. Awww....Kendren we meet again for some more great debates in the worlds most played game they call "Futbol" I made sure to watch all the district games I could at the Jamboree last weekend. Kingston impressed me very very much (I am a little bias being a former coach). Day looked splended, a little shaky with bad weather, but truely marvoulous play. McMillan scared people and caused trouble in the back, making things happen, usually by himself. Scarbrough won EVERY ball that was in the air. Meredith did not let me down on his first game back scoring against Cleveland, but his touches are still iffy, they will come as well as his speed. They play of freshman Scarbrough, Camereon, and Kyle looked up for grabs, but they'll settle and do fine. I didn't see anyone on L.C. that will be capable of stoping McMillan. I think Scarbrough is very able to shut Thomas down. When it comes to sweeper play L.C. has this one won with Mendena playing better than O'Keefe. The matchup between Meredith and Lacy on the outside will be a good one, as both are quick and hard fighting players. Should be another great district and regional championship game(don't let me down fellas). I didn't see much of Onieda, but what I did see, they like to play Kick ball. That worked with last years Kingston team, but prob. not this years Kingston team. I think Thomas will take control and dribble around the Onieda Defense, but Onieda will be a hard fighting team, and I think they will have a serious shot of winning district..........next season........
  3. Sweetwater will be decent as always, nothing great. Bivens is not the superstar people think he is, he cuts to his right foot everytime. Take his right away and you take sweetwater out of the game. Sweetwater is a dirty, hard playing team, and that will be good enough to beat some big teams. They take pride in the intimidating style.
  4. Welp ladies and Gents. another exciting season of soccer in the best district. L.C. is still the heavy favorite winning the district the last 4 years. I do not expect Kingston to finish third this year, they are more talented then ever, if they can work as a team or not is still unpredictable. I do not see Onieda getting the 2 spot. Still very young, and I think their a year away. They will give the top two trouble in regular season, maybe even beat one of them, but still too young to know how to win the big games. L.C. is looking strong as always with the defending state player of the year(Mitch), James, and Roberto. Kingston is looking strong with lots of talent. McMillan, Day, Conrad, Scarbrough, Meredith(he's back), and the excellent play of freshman Thomas Scarbrough. The two brothers work well together, as well as the combo of McMillan and Meredith. The indoor play of Kingston impressed me by tieing Bearden 5-5, and smoking CAK 11-3. They faced L.C. twice, but with the absence of Micheal Day both of these times. My prediction is too early, but it looks as 1.) L.C. 2.) Kingston 3.) Oneida.......Like I said, L.C. looking strong with Thomas, but you can't label a team out with the best keeper in the state(Day), and the best shooter in the district(McMillan). Untill next time readers, Go hard or Go Home!
  5. Your right, you want a cookie? Lettme guess, you don't play H.S. basketball do you? Well then you have no right posting things in here and bringing other teams down, but I guess well wait till state and see if Memphis wins all the boys state games, from the private schools up to 3a. Bragging gets you nowhere my friend. Just make sure the hole your digging isn't too deep for you to crawl out of.
  6. This post is pointless and brings down teams pride. West Tenn. teams might be the better teams, who cares. Each high school program works hard every year to get better. Each high school teams have seniors that wont play anymore basketball in high school. Just think about the post before you write them, and think about the teams your bringing down.
  7. District 3 is not as strong as District 4. I am from a district 3 team, and seeing AC play they are a very solid, well-rounded team. Look at District 4 though, AC can not and prob. will not compete with AE, or Alcoa. Both Ae and Alcoa are very athletic teams. The only think Ac has going for them going into the region is they are playing in a small gym that district 4 teams aren't use to(Kingston). Is AC as good as everyone say they are? Well they have the ability to be, but we really wont find out intill the region. One thing they have that Alcoa and AE dont have is anyone on their team, coming 3 deep, can shoot the outside shot, and that my friend will deff. hurt any team.
  8. I, as well, am a little bias of Laura Hall, but seeing her play every game it's hard not to vote her ms basketball. I cannot say many good things about Brooke Johnson, except that she is an excellent free throw shooter for her size, but Johnson is just a big body that most high school teams aren't use to. Out of the many times I have seen her play, she has never pulled an 18 ft jump shot in anyones face. L. Train(Laura) is a small gaurd, smaller then most gaurds in TN., and she is still a play maker. With her were a great team, without her were a middle of the road team. She is a leader. She has also been in the running for Ms. Basketball since her sophmore year. The question is not who will get Ms. Basketball, but who will be the close 2nd? Your defending all-state point guard will get Ms. Basketball.
  9. What about the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats, They Seymour eagles beat them earlier in the season, but ill put my momney on it saying the eagles dont want anymore of the Bobcats. Both teams have improved, It's up for grabs who wins the region between the Eagles and the Bobcats, but you can't rule out any team with Laura Hall.

    South Greene

Does anyone know anything about S.G., such as gamebreakers, style of offense, how aggresive the coaching is? We play them alot in the first round, and we usually win, but those guys never quit.
  11. If Sequoyah can goto the air, and Felton has a big day then they will give Smith Co. all there looking for. S.C. better not come out flat footed, and this is the time for the seniors to show how much they really have.
  12. Andrew Hayes of Oliver Springs broke 1000 last friday against Sweetwater, worth every bit of those yards. Great season kid.
  13. A couple of players I want to throw in the mix. 1-Jermaine Copeland-Harriman(UT) 2-Chad Pennington-Webb(Marshall, NY Jets)
  14. Harrimans a front runner, they are up to 30 now with a lose to Rockwood thurs night. It's pretty hard to win when none of the boys want to play in the 1st place. They got a new coach, but you can't teach football with discipline.
  15. The twins Jeremiah(#55) and Joshua(#36) Justice from Oliver Springs, two of the best linebakers in 2A and their just Sophmores. None will be better by there senior year.
  16. What about Ayates, old middle school coach, he seems like he'd be alright.
  17. I thought the new coach at harriman was supposed to do good things, I have seen no positive TEAM play this whole season. They have good players, but they need a coach to bring them together and play as a team, they will still lose alot, but the results will be great. U.C.-28 Harriman-14
  18. Whalen and Hayes are great players, but no one gives the trench boys any credit. The Morgan boys from O.S. are not only consider the best in the county, but these boys are riding with the best of the state. The comment about John T. Armes, I don't think is true. I saw him try to do too much at the O.S. game, and then put the blame on his teammates for his lack of success. John T. showed his "leadership" there, and hasn't been able to win much games since. Coming into the year people were excited about Wartburgs chances to goto state, and it turns out it's their worst season in 4 years. John T. is a good player but he lacks the leadership he needs to be a GREAT player.
  19. I want to give a big congrats. to the O.S. Bobcats, on clinching the 1st place spot in the region. The senior filled team has yet to suprise me on the skills on the field. Congrats guys on getting to hold that trophy at the end, you have gone through a first game lose, and having to earn the respect from Wartburg and Rockwood fans, and critics from the region the way you should earn it....with you play, so no one deserves this more than you boys. Good Luck on the rest of the season.
  20. He's from Cali. He's slow and makes some stupid decisions like our Vol QB casey Clausen. But when Gurney is throwing good he has a great game, and the sets up big runs for their real stud on offense #34 Chad Johnson, but Fulton always has a very athletic and talented line, I look for Fulton to pull this out.....Watch for Gurney to have to type of game Clausen did against the bulldogs, and #75 for fulton Kennedy, will be back there causing havoc ALL game long.
  21. Kingston has been playing some good ball as off late, but I don't think Kingston has the skill or size to match up to fultons players. Fultons QB loves to run rarely staying home in the pocket, but on the other side of the ball.....Kingstons QB is a born and bread Cali pocket paser, just like Clausen. In the end though, Kingston speed on team defense will hurt them. I'm going Fulton-21 Kingston-10. P.S. watch for McMillan and Day to keep kingston in this game on special team, that will keep the game relatively close.
  22. O.S. has the Morgan boys, you might stop one of them by double teaming them, but I promise you one of the three will be in your face the whole game. Micheal had 5 sacks in one game, and Josh started the season late with a back injury, but is back in his A game, and Russell is every bit of 300 pounds and the strongest of the three, but on my statement, I don't know who the BEST single lineman in the state is, but i've never seen any play better together than these three.
