  1. I hear you gotta watch out for that wicked 95 mph serve of his.
  2. Yep, those 95 mph serves used to scare the heck out of me. Even Agassi can't block back those things. Whew! Oh, and Kyle Wishing is my daddy.
  3. Hey nation_supp do you play for Siegel? I used to play for Lebanon a while back.
  4. Hey Shelbyville, come out here and talk to us like men. We've all had to do it before. Let's hear what you have to say. Hello? Helloooo? *crickets*
  5. I came away from tonight's game with a few things: 1. Shelbyville is FOR REAL. They definitely don't play around, and will be one heck of a tough out in the finals. 2. Stewart is the best player I have seen this year. He shot what, like 85% from the field? 3. Shelbyville was a terrible, terrible matchup for Lebanon. Same style, but has more firepower. No way Lebanon could hang with them, and the Blue Devils aren't capable of consistent success in a halfcourt set. I would have much rather finished 3rd and played Siegel or Oakland (no offense guys, just a more favorable matchup for us) 4. Tonight's performance was, literally, the most disappointing I have ever seen from a team wearing Lebanon on their uniforms, regardless of sport. The guys were completely out of sync (credit the Eagles' D) and couldn't get any good looks at all. A lot of it, again, has to do with the matchup, but still...that performance was not at all representative of Lebanon High School basketball. 5. It broke my heart to see the five seniors come off the floor, every single one of them with tears streaming down their face. Guys, you had a great (overachieving) season when everyone thought you would be in rebuilding mode. All of you did the blue and white proud. What a long, crappy drive.
  6. Ouch. I assume you referring to Lebanon as the one of the four that doesn't have a chance to make noise. Its's a perfectly reasonable thing to say, it's just no fun being the odd team out. Good luck to 7-AAA tonight. Let's see an all-District 7 final. Yes, I realize that Siegel and Oakland are playing each other. And good luck Blue Devils. End their season, just like last year. (It'll be harder this time)
  7. WAY TO GO JP! 8 threes is huge. Let's go Lebanon. Come out firing.
  8. Columbia (8-AAA #4) at Siegel (7-AAA #1) Tullahoma (8-AAA #3) at Lebanon (7-AAA #2) Cookeville (7-AAA #4) at Shelbyville (8-AAA #1) Oakland (7-AAA #3) at Coffee County (8-AAA #2) Alright, lets's get it started. Thoughts? I say Siegel Lebanon Shelbyville Oakland Can someone post some sort of a schedule? I want to know if I can make some of these.
  9. Wow, I wish I could have been there. I am very, very proud of Lebanon for their tenacious effort tonight. Congratulations especially to Doug, because I know he's had to hear about how his teams fade down the stretch, that he can't beat Oakland, etc. Coach, I know how sweet this win is for you. Hardly anyone thought Lebanon had a chance this year. Way to prove them wrong, guys. Hopefully that earlier win against the Stars has negated the intimidation factor. Lebanon always knew they could play with Siegel; now they know they are capable of winning. Winfree and Henderson will have to be tough again for the Devils to have a chance. Oakland, congrats on a hard-fought game. You guys are still the class of the district, and I'm sure you'll get back on track. Best wishes for Chaisson's recovery and an OHS victory. Good luck to Siegel tonight. Lets's have a clean, competitive, exciting district championship.
  10. Take it as a compliment; people always go after the big dogs. I'm sure Siegel's team is made up of good guys; I serisously doubt that any team in 7-AAA is any different. We're talking about high school kids here, not street thugs. He did qualify his statement by saying he's isn't a part of the district and hasn't seen them much. If you went to see a school play for the first time, and in your opinion something stood out to you about the way they played, I don't think you would say, "Better not mention that on the boards. After all, I don't know them that well." Instead, you would give your opinion based on what you saw. It is extremely possible for a player to be a nice guy off the court and have an attitude problem on it.
  11. I agree that past impressions shouldn't influence the way a game is called. But we all know its's going to happen, so an adept player or coach will realize that and adjust accordingly. Aside from the issue of the ejection, are commander's points valid? From what I've seen I'm not sure, though I think there could be some truth in them.
  12. I'm down with that. You're a good guy, that's why you don't talk about other teams' attitudes. I'm just saying that whether or not he knows the ins and outs of the Siegel program, he's still free to make as statement based on what he's seen. Not being from 7-AAA makes him less informed, but it also makes him more objective. You don't have to grasp the inner workings of a team to recognize bad conduct on the court. (not saying that's what happens at SHS).
  13. It's not that I don't believe you, I was just pointing out that you jumped on a guy who who just giving his opinion; again, NOT talking about the incident. Why did you bring it up again? I respect that you have Jimmy's back.
  14. Boy, I'd sure like to know... Oakland is such a tough draw for Lebanon. We just can't ever seem to beat you guys. I do know this: Lebanon is pretty hot right now, and I think the game could be close. The Devils need a big game from Brian Henderson in the middle. I have all the respect in the world for Oakland's program (as I have said countless times on this board), so best of luck to both schools.
  15. ...which is irrelevant to this discussion, whether it's true or not. He didn't even mention the incident or whether or not it happened...he was just sharing his (objective) impression of Siegel. Who is to say he doesn't know what hes's talking about? d2d I respect what you say on here, but I think you guys are starting to get a bit defensive. Maybe understandable considering people keep bringing it up, but still. I'd really like to see the tape for myself. Is there any way I can get a hold of it?
  16. Thanks for the kind words 2P. I have all the respect in the word for Oakland's program. In all my experiences they have been class acts. I would really, really like to see a Lebanon win, more so than usual, just because Doug Keil is too good of a coach to take an 0-fer against anyone. This win would make his year. Outside of that, this game is important to the Pats to stay undefeated and keep some distance between them and Siegel, but it is much more important to the Blue Devils, who are bunched up at 5-4 in district play. My prediction? Oakland by 10. Hurts to say it.
  17. I just want to point out that this guy cracks me up. "ruff ruff ruff thats right all night"... What's going on here? Are we dogs now? What's a "shanit?" "This is the Snowman sighting and he is now out"... What does that even mean? Anywho, I'd take Roper over Hill anyday. Not taking anything away from Hill, but if he played somewhere else, say Siegel or Oakland, he wouldn't get much attention. If by "that's how C-Town runs it" you mean grab that four or five seed and lose in the first round of districts every year, then yes. You are correct. That is indeed how C-Town runs it.
  18. This has the potential to be very interesting, as Lebanon squeaked by the first time, and Blackman should have some confidence after a big win. Or will the Blaze suffer a letdown? Lebanon by 10-15 is my guess.
  19. At this point, I would say Allen. At least one of the top 3 in the district, and his team is still undefeated in district play. Wouldn't argue with Oden, though.
  20. Oakland had better be careful. I would say Pats by 20 or so based on talent alone, but I have that same weird feeling you guys have about this one. I know it's not in Sparta, but I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset. I hope OHS proves me wrong.
  21. You have to wonder about tired legs, even if it is WC the night before. Still, gotta go with 7-AAA on this one... Siegel by 5.
  22. This game could be a classic, down to the wire. Or it could be a blowout. Like many 7-AAA games, you'd probably have better luck predicting if you drew out of a hat. With the exception of Oakland and possibly Siegel, each team in this district is varying degrees of schizophrenic. So I'm I'm going to flip a coin (and follow a hunch) and say Riverdale 61 Cookeville 59 Hill for 7-AAA MVP? No.
  23. Man, enough with everybody talking about pairs. Heck, I just had to look down to make sure I still had mine.
  24. Could someone explain the jeans with holes comment? I could use a good laugh. And d2d, you were alllllmost sitting with the Nation. Poor Solid One. I read your sig and had to laugh. I am a UK bball fan b/c of my girlfriend, and this year, basketball is going down the tubes too.
  25. I'm guessing the snow did keep most of the LHS crowd away. These are HS kids we're talking about...I'm sure a lot of the parents vetoed the idea of driving to the Boro. The ones that were there certainly weren't as loud as the Nation, but I was impressed with their effort. Lebanon desperately needs a dominant inside presence. Not taking anything away from Brian or Britton because I love those guys, but there's not a go-to guy in the paint. And I agree that the inbound defense was atrocious. Siegel has more talent. The better team won. But I think Lebanon gave a good effort and has a shot at an upset at Campbell Brandon. d2d, were you wearing a pink shirt? I was going to come up and say hey but I wasn't sure if it was you.
