  1. What's up hornet? You let placall make his vile insinuation about people at AC, but I can't respond to it, or defend our kids! You claim not to allow name calling, but partake in it yourself. I guess it just depends on whose doin it for you huh?
  2. Tank I also love your show; for those of you in Roane and Anderson county it's wednesday night on Oak Ridge comcast channel 12. If you don't watch it , you need to. You do a great job of covering roane county sports with objectivity and respect for all teams. I have always appreciated the respect you show for orhs, Clinton HS, AC, and all the middle scholl programs in the area. Thanks for the knowledge. I'm also picking oz in a close one.
  3. I watched them qualify last week at Three Ridges, and John Fox's 67, and Jeremy Cox's 69 were very strong, infact could have been lower, especially in Jeremy's case. I think they have a great shot at state. I also would like to wish them the best, along with the Sugg's boy from CAK, and the whole Carter team. All these young men conducted themselves with class at the regional tournament and can just flat play golf.
  4. I think Fulton may well have a let down this week after last fridays win at AC, and Scott CO. has their best team in a long time. SC has a chance in this one , but I think ultimately Fulton has too many weapons and will come out ontop.
  5. Great post Ex-Vol25. I think sometimes we all forget what is the greatest thing about high school sports, and that is the lessons that can be learned, and the positive way that young peoples lives can be affected. Hornet, you're way off base on this one. "lyin Larry Kerr, and Jerky Joel Helton", aren't you the one that said this message board wasn't about name calling! You don't seem to be able to stick to the rules you claim to uphold.
  6. Come on hornet, your rambling, and your getting off topic on what was said on the previous posts. Don't let us shake you up this way.
  7. Good post ac10. I also thought the show by the 20 or so member Fulton band was great! It takes alot of guts to go out in that small a number, and play as hard and put on as good a show as they did.
  8. hey bobericks, are you sure they don't take into account that Greenville is a 5A school?
  9. splainshornet, FYI Most of AC's home games have been officiated by either Mike Borum's or Jeff Kidwell's crews. Both are from Clinton and have sons at Clinton High School. Their dislike for AC is riveled only by yours. You are crazy if you think we get any calls from these guys. I do think AC can play better than they have the past two weeks, and if you want to say we didn't have a good scheme against Fulton, I would agree. As far as AC "not being as good as I wished", what does that have to do with anything. I have no wishes for this team. I just enjoy high school football, and they are a good bunch of kids who play hard. As for Harris and AE's "run, run, run," running game, we'll see what happens on Friday night. I think you are loopy if you think AE will "hang half a hundred on AC", these kids play too hard for that. You are even loopier if you think I have one ounce of JEALOUSY towards you. You're not that important to me. Finally I have been at the last three state volleyball tournaments, and while I haven't read your posts about our fans during these events, I can say that our fans acted the same as every other set of fans there, we cheer loudly for our girls, and react when bad calls go against us. No more and no less then anyone else. Any claims to the contrary are just sour grapes. We know you know how they taste hornet.
  10. splainshornet, you obviously have an axe to grind with AC, but who cares? Your home/ road reference is just rhetoric. In High School football it doesn't make that much difference. The crowds are not big enough, and the away teams fans usually travel well. There is no real travel time, or overnight stays to coordinate to make any alterations to your pre-game routine, like there would be in college or pro. The last time AC played at AE we won. It's also not like basketball where you get used to shooting on your home baskets, which is an advantage. The fields are the same size, and the grass is about the same so the result isn't effected by home or away. As far as AE being by far the best team in the district, if it weren't for a couple of big plays, the AE vs. Fulton game was about a wash. I've been told that coach Coatney has said he would love another shot at AE, and I think the way their defense is playing I would take Fulton in a re-match. With regard to Harris running for 200 against the Mavs. There hasn't even been a 100 yard rusher against AC this year including the kid from West who's racked up so many yards this year (including against Central). While Fulton got a big win at AC last week, it certainly wasn't because they ran the ball well. Nothing in that game indicated that the Mavs can be run on. For a moderator, your not very moderate.
  11. I would put Sean Mounts of AC up against any punter in the area. He has boomed some kicks this year and has a pretty bad sprain in his left ankle (plant foot) otherwise his numbers would be even better.
  12. I would guess that the fastest player for AC is Austin Vann #2 who plays cornerback. He did have one open field tackle on #5 for Fulton along your sideline when it looked like he might break one. While I think #5 for the falcon's is the quickest player I've seen in quite a while ( including Cory Booker from Oak Ridge), I didn't see where Fulton's speed was that big a factor in this game. I think the Mav defense held them in check pretty well. I thought a bigger factor was Fulton's strength, and intensity on defense. It was a hard hitting affair and Stevens and #1 were animals on defense and never backed off. I hope this game will end up being a plus for AC by showing us that we have to diversify on offense to compete with and beat the elite teams in our state, which I think you guys certainly are. Anyway great game.
  13. I was also at the game tonight and thought both teams did what they do best. Fulton tries to get their speedy players in space and play tough defense, while AC comes right at you on offense, and plays tough defense. All in all I think the falcon's deserved this win, as their defense just kept hitting hard. I've got to say though that I was totally puzzled by the last 3:16 of this game. AC got the ball at about mid-field and ran three plays into the middle of the line without using any timeouts (and the game ended with AC still having two time outs in their pockets), and then taking their time, in and out of the huddle, before finally calling a timeout on forth and 3 with 1:08 left in the game. That was the poorest clock management I've seen in a long time. Still all in all, these type of games are why I love high school football.
  14. Last year we had to play at Scott County in a rain storm that knocked out the lights on one half of the field. Every time someone crossed mid field from the light side of the field into the dark side, the ball had to be spotted and the team had to change direction, so the whole game was played in one half of the field. That was a tough place to play that night.
  15. The problem is you allowed someone to attach racial conotations to my non racial post, and then take away my ability to respond, not to mention the drug allegation that started this post
  16. I don't understand the process of locking up or closing a topic, and who is splainshornet to do so? Can somebody fill me in?
  17. Hey PiGeOnS4Life where is the racial slur in questioning shortstop22's english! I hace no idea what shortstop22's ethnicity is and made no reference to it. That's exactly the kind of crap that people who claim not to be racist start when that's exactly what they are.
  18. Quotes from shortstop22, a mental giant! "bull I think you need to shut your mouth, I don't have to do I will wait to Friday nigth" and "THE ZIP LINE, IT WAS THE MOST SCARIEST THING EVER" Is english your second language, or are you the poster child for Fulton's english department?
  19. First of all with regards to the called back touchdown on Kingston against AC, there is no question there was a hold in the secondary, I saw it and was yelling about it in the stands along with many others around me before it was called, and long before that play wound up going the distance. For a team that's less than .500 Kingston fans whine alot. As far as the AC vs. Fulton game, I think it could go either way. Fulton is probably better on offense than they were last year, but no way are they as good on defense. I see this one as a higher scoring affair than last years game at Fulton. AC has got alot of weapons on offense, but seldom use them. If Rob Wright is allowed to throw the ball 15 times on Friday I think AC wins. Last year Coach Coatney put 10 men in the box against the Mavs in the power I, and shut down AC's running game. When AC spread the field, Jason Sanders busted two long ones for TD's, and then the Mavs went straight back into the power I. Go figure I think the question in this one is can Fulton run the ball effectively on the mav's stingy defense? If they can, and AC stays predictable on offense, the Falcons will win.
  20. You've got a good eye boorelly, Demarcus Stevens plays defensive end for Fulton and is a great one. My buddy Jody Wright will have fun watching him play this year.
  21. Alot of people seem to post the name of the best linebacker of the team they support. I think it's more credible to submit the name of someone who plays for another team, or even someone from a team you don't like. I'm gonna do that here. I don't like Austin East, but if there's a better linebacker than Anthony McAllister, it's not in this state. He's like a man playing with boys, and next year will be one of the top five most recruited athletes in the nation.
