  1. 1_new_wildcat_fan, why in the world would I want to change my username to a school that has a problem deciding which mascot it wants to be called on a daily basis? Let's see, today I will be war eagle, tomorrow I will go by tigers, then back to war eagle. It doesn't matter, you guys are still striving to reach the TIDE!!!!
  2. theydon'tcare, I can tell you that two of the finalist are from within the system, one is from springfield, one from Alabama, and the other is from Illinois or Virginia. I know one of the two from within the school system, but I will not reveal his name. I know that Offut and Tharpe are finalists as well. The DC from nw is the other name that I am hearing as a finalist for this job.
  3. JSCOTT, I know that you would not intentionally try to bring harm to me. We have known each other for some time now and I know that you would not do that to me. Thanks for the vote of confidence in me though.
  4. JSCOTT, sorry to disappoint you, but I have no intentions of leaving my post as the DC of the Hawks for the HC at West Creek. I am very happy at Rossview and we are working hard to take that program to the next level. My next move will be from teaching/coaching into administration. I do not know where you got that information, but it is most definitely false.
  5. Is Wes McNeely still at CCHS? I worked with McNeely when he was at Kenwood High School. I do know the person that interviewed for the job and he is not from the area. I will say that he is more than capable of doing the job, and will treat the players fairly and with respect. I will not reveal his name however.
  6. MJpride, if the defense can keep number 9 from catching a bunch of deep passes, then you guys should advance to round 2.# 9 seems to be the only legitimate threat from the Cobras.
  7. Rossview plays at Kenwood on Thursday the 30th. Game time is 7:30pm and it will be senior night for the Knights.
  8. wreagle71, Yes, I am excited about the start to the season for the Crimson Tide. Saban has the team focused on the task at hand. I believe that Tommy needs to start the Burns kid at qb and let him play, do not try to make a robot out of him. The young man will make mistakes, but the upside to him at qb instead of Todd is phenomenal. If Auburn plays Todd at qb this week, you may be upset because Vandy beats you this weekend.
  9. Thanks wreagle71. Mt. Juliet is going to play hard for 48 minutes and we must match the intensity. The Bears will be well coached in all three phases of the game and we must play well if we expect a chance to win the game.
  10. Coach Ricky Ray is a class act and he and the INdians will get that elusive victory this week against the Fighting Irish of Houston County. Their scoreless streak may very well continue this week if the Central defense shows up like they did in the early stages of the Creekwood game.
  11. Eagles have too much athleticism for the wildcats. The wildcats will welcome two former coaches back to Richardson stadium as Johnson and Shelby take the field with the eagles. I look for the eagles to win this one by at least two touchdowns.
  12. Hendersonville is a big rivalry for the buccaneers. I have fond memories of coaching the bucs in the last 90's. As much as this pains me to say it, I think the commandos might win this one.
  13. Montgomery Central plays Clarksville Academy and Rossview host Harpeth in the jamboree.
  14. LSMFT, to answer your question, the person listed as the activities coordinator is the same as the county athletic director. This person is trying to insure that all 6 of the city high schools will play within the same region for all sports. I am not positive on just how much rezoning will take place, but there will be a small number of students moved to West Creek from Kenwood High School. I am sure that some rezoning will take place though in preparation for the new school coming on line. Of course the other question that remains to be answered as of now is what realignment plan will the TSSAA use for the next four year cycle? If it is the z-plan then that will answer a lot of those questions about the new regions.
  15. LSMFT, please understand something, this request is not stupid. The powers that be downtown realize that the reclassification numbers for the 2009-2012 will be based on enrollment figures this coming August. Well, in Montgomery County the sixth high school within the city limits will open in the fall of 2009. West Creek High School will pull a majority of their students from the 1700 students that are currently walking the halls of NEHS. So, the county ad wants to make the TSSAA aware of the fact that some rezoning will occur in this school district prior to the new classification period begins and they want to get NE back in region 6-4a with the rest of the city high schools.
  16. That will be a hard task to accomplish at NE because of the teaching positions that have to be filled by highly qualified teachers first, and coaches second. As of right now, there are not many teaching slots open at NEHS.
  17. DaCatfish, any word on when Offutt is scheduled to make his decision and possible resignation as the HC of the yellow jackets?
  18. If John takes the NE job, he has absolutely no clue what he is in for over there!!!
  19. Footballfan15, would you want the school to hurry the selection process and get the wrong candidate, or take their time and find the best candidate possible for the job? Teaching spots for next year are still being determined and the lists of candidates may not meet the teaching needs of the new administration.
  20. I have known Coach Satterfield since the early 1990's when I first began attending clinics while attending college. I was fortunate to work for Coach Holmes at Beech from 1997-2000 and we worked closely with the Jackets and Coach Satterfield. As stated in an earlier post, he is a great man both on and off the field. Coach will do an outstanding job as the Director of Schools for TC. The one thing that can be said about Coach Satterfield is the fact that he pours everything into his job and will do whatever it takes to be successful. Good luck Coach Satterfield!
  21. Would this be the same Coach Murray that was the DC at Beech High School?
  22. Word on the street is that NE is close to naming a new HC. The hiring should take place at any time. Sources say that the final list is down to two candidates right now.
  23. topnight, I have not heard who is applying for the NE job from Kenwood. I have heard that two coaches from the current NE staff have expressed an interest in being the next HC for NE.
  24. 1new__wildcat___fan, No I will not be applying for the NE job. I am quite content here with the Hawks. I enjoy coaching these players and look forward to working with this coaching staff and players for the next few years.
  25. 1new__wildcat__fan, from my understanding, the administration will not open the position until they receive formal notification from the HC. There must be a paper trail that covers every aspect of a coaching change, including the proper paper work at Central Office. As far as Rossview is concerned, the players will be back in the weight room soon and we will be working hard in preparation for the 2008 football season. We have some good varsity experience returning for next year.
