I still say they should have gave Wes a chance. The guy has won at every thing he has coached, coaches aggressive, and loves the game. I know he has not been a head coach on the highschool level ( except for baseball) but I think he would have been a good hire. However, I guess we will just have to support the new guy now! He will have high expectations this season...State or bust.

A few will still be out there. A few will have a change of scenery in where they coach at. Some will hang it up and pursue other options that they want. The thing to remember though is that through all this Pirate football will still be around..

Perry would get my number 1. He was fun to watch. I agree with OP with T Rob and Chris as well as Tim. However, I am going to throw in a under the radar qb. Cody Robinson. He was a winner and did not make many mistakes. Top 5? No. But deserves to be mentioned.

The warriors have the excitement level built up that's for sure. I have already had to hear about Blake Zeman bench pressing 350 pounds and squatting 500. Several times. I agree with Warrior though, Logan Walters should be their qb next year. He is a good athlete.

From what I heard, Payne going to try to return midseason next year. S. Mitchell is done though. Hope that is not the case but he really messed his knee up bad in the LV game.

You are wrong sir. I said Stone hates Jasper like I do. Did not say that was a qualification. However, he has proven in the jr. high ranks that he wins. What did he have 4 or 5 titles in a row? I know it was jr. high only but still. I still think someone from inside the program should get it and it should be him. My opinion, everyone has one.

Anyways, about the coaching search...I vote Stone...Will he get it? I don't know but here is what some of you are missing. This coach has to be a teacher...qualified in math...Which he already is...he has all of the qualifications already..he understands the rivals...he hates Jasper just as much as I do..and he has been a proven winner with these guys before in junior high...It just makes sense to me and I hope he gets it. Unless something has changed big time coach Heath does not want to be head coach. He has other goals which I understand completely. I like Stone's aggressiveness if given the chance.

Same as it is every year. Gordy, SP, Coalfield, Greenback in the east. Union City, Jo Byrns, Lake County in west. Huntingdon will be 2a next year so the west will be more wide open I think. In the east, I think the playing field will be more competitive.

Boyd in my mind will be the best defense that Friendship has played all year and I think that is why Boyd wins the game. Friendship is a good team and Long is a great player. Boyd is just so fundamentally sound. Everyone is in position they are never caught out of their spot. Grant Reynolds deserves a lot of credit. Defense wins championships and Boyd's D will give them back to back a state title.

Just for the record, I think Gordonsville will win this game by a few touchdowns. South Pittsburg would beat Coalfield as well. The SP/Gville game was a good physical battle. SP was juiced up and played their best game on defense all year. If they played D against the other teams like they played against Gville they may have won against Knox Grace and others. They were just really amped up for that night but fell a foot short. Anyways, I think Coalfield will stop Cason, however; I think Watson will hurt them.
