    Cookeville

Thanks guys for all of the respect. I know that the players appreciate it from a team of your caliber. Nobody else gives them any respect. Joslin is a great coach as is Rankin. He preaches (or at least when I played for him) that one play could change the outcome of the entire game. Weather it's a turnover, a big run, catch, whatever, but we need to make that big play. Unfortunately for us we didn't get it, but I won't ever argue that Riverdale was just better than us. I am happy that we did what we did against you all. There was a great article, I don't know weather it was in the Tennessean or the Herald Citizen here in Cookeville, but it had both Rankin and Joslin on the front of the sports page and it talked about both coaches. It was an outstanding article, I thought. Joslin's days are coming. The man has done great things here in Cookeville, and I still believe the best is yet to come. One more thing and I am done. I have a ton more respect for Rankin after Friday night. My brother was a senior offensive lineman on the CHS team and, as everybody knows, that last loss is tough. Rankin came to my brother after the game and told him what a great player he is and what an outstanding job he did on the field. He really cought me at that point, and I now have the utmost respect for the man. True class.
  2. Good luck to LA this Friday. My boys here in Cookeville lost in a thriller against Riverdale, so it looks like my Friday will be free this week to come and watch you play.
  3. You can't blame the fans for having faith in their team. Great job to both teams. I thought that we had them at half time, but oh well. Good luck to the Warriors against Oak Ridge next week. Outstanding season, CAVS. I am so proud of the entire team, and especially my brother, #63 Chris VanDeven. Gary Rankin actually came to him after the game and told him what a great offensive lineman he is. That TOTALLY changed my perspective on Rankin. That's what I call class. Stlrcoach, cavlineman, THE SQUAD, and all other Cookeville faithful: It's been a pleasure posting with you all this season. I hope to see you back next year for another Championship run. I won't be on the T much for the next year due to heartbreak, so I will talk to you all later. My e-mail is adamv@american-way.com if anyone wants to get in touch with me. PEACE OUT!!!
  4. Take exit 288 off I-40 and turn north on Hwy. 111. From Hwy. 111 take the Cookeville-Algood Exit and turn left (west) at the end of the exit ramp. Turn right at the 2nd light onto Fisk Road. Go approximately 1 mile north on Fisk Road and turn left at the first light onto Volunteer Drive. Volunteer Drive ends at a 3-way stop sign and at this point you are facing the football field. Turn left at the 3-way stop, round a sharp curve to the right, and take the next right to enter the school property beside the football field. (Visitors wishing to park in the stadium visitor parking lot should turn right at the 3-way stop then immediately left into the vistor parking lot.) These directions are good as well. Try radio station 1400 if you are around Cookeville Putnam County area. Aside from all the trash talk, everyone be safe tonight traveling to and from the game. It will be cold and there will be a lot of traffic. Remember, it's not worth your life just to make it by kickoff.
  5. This is the dumbest post on the entire CoachT web site.
  6. Wow, guys. A lot has happened since I have been gone...... What's going on?
  7. Hey Tyler, did you e-mail CoachT and change your password? Might help....
  8. I can vouch for tyler. He is a good kid. Either way, I agree that the profanity has to stop. I love it when I see people use symbols when they try to use profanity as well. Seriously, are they THAT desperate to curse?!?! What's with todays generation of kids. Tisk tisk....
  9. WHAT?!?! The Cards played without their normal starting lineup for the majority of the season, and STILL ended up witht the best record in baseball!! That is a far better accomplishment than playing with a bunch of rookies and choking in the playoffs for the 10th straight year.
  10. Wanna hear some more? These are the players that are going to show up to play. 11. You might want to reverse that. Cookeville doesn't make excuses.
  12. Well, maybe I shouldn't have said he didn't deserve it, but there were certainly two that deserved it more. I mean, why did he get it anyway? Because of his great past, or because the voters feel sorry for the guy making the playoffs so many years in a row and not doing anything with it..... YOU GOT IT!!
  13. In all honesty, he didn't deserve the NL Manager of the Year award. I can think of two managers that deserved it more, but I guess that's why I don't pick 'em.
  14. I admit it, we stink. Doesn't mean I am not still a fan. There isn't much to talk about in STL. Good luck to the Preds. I hope you Kick Detroit's BUTT.
  15. Hey gotmilk, did that hurt to say that? Seems like you would be barfing after that comment.
  16. Nah, pujols is leading in every poll across the nation except for the ones based out of ATL. It's in the bag, Albert. Looks like andruw is going to have to keep dusting that spot as long as pujols is playing baseball.
  17. Whoa!! Calm down their chief. All that I am saying is that Cookeville has a great turnover margin. Good enough to make the difference in the W or L. I am thinking that one turnover is going to decide the game, weather either team has 6 turnovers or 1 turnover. Assume what you want, but we all know what happens when you assume.
  18. That's right. Cookeville has done well with turnovers all year long. We RARELY turn the ball over, but we sure can make the other team turn it over. Miller better hold the ball with two hands on Friday because if he doesn't, he will turn the ball over 6 times by himself. As for passing....HA....you better stick to running the ball because our DB's are just waiting to intercept a ball. That's going to be the winner for Cookeville.... Cookeville - 24 Riverdale - 21 Keep rolling CAVS!!
  19. Come to Cookeville. We have all kinds of stuff you can do here.
