DQ has proved many times over what an incredible football mind he has. It is truly very very impressive that a mind like that is still at the HS level. The kids deserve credit also but anyone who can get more out of players than even they think they have to give understands more than X's and O's and will serve those young men for years to come. A game like Maryville for Oak Ridge that would replace a team like Jeff Co. would be an exciting development. It really makes a lot of Dollars and sense. The best thing for people like me as a fan is the excitement and atmosphere you can actually feel entering the stadium. If Maryville enters our region what a great thing that would be. Maybe two games a year could happen. What a dream route to the state championship. DB Maryville, Riverdale. We all know to be the best you gotta beat the best. As for Oak Ridge 07 and 08 will be good years with a trip to middle TN in Dec. of 08. I dont think anyone will be able to keep that from happening. What is today October 11th 2006? Just remember you saw it here first.

It is un-thinkable that OR will loose this week no way no how. Thank goodness SD is having a bad year. However if they don't come to play and let them hang around well we won't think about that. Call me crazy I have a sneaky feeling that OR might upset either The Ads or the Owls. It seems so un-thinkable that there is a chance OR could end the season 5-5 or even 4-6. So lets just hope my feelings are on and we end it 6-4. 7-3 would be a dream come true right now. Good Luck Cats. You know a 5-5 team did win state last year.

Yes the Coffee for Oak Ridge is Revels younger brother. Revel is at Carson Newman. He is practicing but sitting out this year. Probably due to the broken ankle he received during basketball season last year. I did see Revel last Friday night he is looking good and doing well in school it looks like he is getting bigger. Back to Raphel he is starting varsity at saftey. He too will be seeing some time at reciever. He is bigger and stronger than Revel was his soph year and the experience he is getting so soon in his HS career some are saying he might just be better than Revel. I really think we might be seeing those young men on Sundays some day.

What station is this show on?

I thought Tank, Goose and a guest ( a few different people ) did the Friday night show last year. Your right I may be thinking of Wednesday nights last year. However I don't ever remember the Friday night show ever being like it is this year. You have invited us to come be a part of the show. Frankly thats what several others and myself attempted to do Friday and were hung up on. You also suggested to call Gridiron breakfast to get my points across. That would be very unfair to Tank and his show. I have done what I wanted to do and hope the powers that be there at BBB step up and do the right thing. Those guys were so pompass Friday they had a lady call crying if that isn't enough to provoke a change then it does become a reflection of the channel and the sponsers of that particular program. Sorry Brad thats just how I see it. I dont want to come be a part of the show I want to watch the show and call in if I have a comment. Good Luck you really seem to be a stand up guy and I regret you being caught up in this and having to be the one who seems to be taking the heat.

I think 1st tie breaker is verses each other and then verses teams with a .500 record or better. would be nice to know for sure and If there is a third tie breaker.

Brad The whole point of my post was that it was "this" show. I have said it many times that this community and kids are lucky to have the support and exposure the channel gives them. I clearly pointed to the hosts, it was their comments and actions not the callers that was responsible for the way things went. I think the answer to what do I do is pretty simple put some different butts in those seats. As un-fair as it is the whole station and the hard working selfless people and sponsers who probably care more about the kids than the revenue their sponsership generates are dragged right along with the actions and in-actions of the people that are sitting in front of the camera.

I wasn't talking about any other show on BBB just the one they call the "Friday Night Scoreboard" on Friday nights after the games. I don't really even care that people are supposedly "happy" about Oak Ridges' season thus far. Thats their thing but why should they be able to say whatever they say and other people including myself get cut off in mid sentence. I wasn't being rude I wasn't using or....gonna use fowl language. I simply had a point of view different than the "hostesses" of the show. Everyone can get the scores of their games as well as other games real-time right here on Coach-T. I will without doubt be getting my scores right here. I am not sure how they figure their ratings but the only way to change the way it is run now is to affect the ratings......well Alice I guess thats not it either. I heard last years show was the highest rated show on BBB. That doesn't mean last years show and the fact the hosts have changed is the reason for me saying any of this. The fact is "Friday Night Scoreboard" is not the kind of show these kids from whatever school deserve. Where is Mike Richards when you need him. Even so far back as when he hosted the show on Friday nights it was something you cared about watching.

I have never seen grown men talk out of both sides of their mouths like the hosts did tonight in such a public forum. I would like to buy them for what they are worth and sell them for what they think their worth. I cant see how the sponsers would want to be associated with such hypocrisy. Who do they think they are. They let negative callers say whatever as long as they agree and then hang up on anyone who expresses an opinion in oppisition. Thats just plain chicken xcrement If they think their behavior is gonna increase ratings or send customers to their sponsers place of business they have lost their minds. The one guy on the far right has a new website..yeah the cover page is a picture of him kissing himself. The way they talked tonight and hung up on people brought what sounded like an elderly woman caller to tears. Now thats something to be proud of. They finally said if you didnt like it turn the channel. So I did. Although my TV will never play their show again....thats only one viewer and they are so arrogant they probably could care less. The point is their sponsers should know I will not be the only one.

Prolly be for the 25A top spot this year. Should be interesting

Tough Loss, Hats Off to the Gov's for not giving up. The Refs didn't have a thing in the world to do with this win thank goodness. Can't say enough about the Gov's this year just a few plays here and there and their record is very different. Personally looking past them in a post season game would be a big mistake. OR basically experience and otherwise are playing with a JV teamon the field. (not an excuse just a fact) I dont speak for anyone but myself but I saw this coming 3-4 years ago. It happens at other schools and its happening at OR this year. Bad for the seniors this year but great for the upcoming years. It will not take long for Oak Ridge to once again show why they are considered a heavy weight in 5A. This year is the exception and not the rule. People know that and thats why they are taking their shots now. Last but not least Hats off to Stevens for standing on principal with D-line. Connor looked good on D and a real bright spot Mr Hudson kicked a 46 (i believe) FG with room to spare. Another soph play maker runs a KO back some 80 yards. Owls fans and whoever else better get their OR bashing out of their system this year. Next couple of years crow is on the menu. Roll Cats Roll

Oak Ridge has a lot of very good sophs. Irby-QB, Rogers-RB,WR, Coffee-WR,DB There are more but you will no doubt be hearing these names in the future.

Congrads to McMinn. What a great ball game. Can't take any thing away from that group of kids Oak ridge fan or not. Oak Ridge is gonna have to get scrappy to make the playoffs. Any time you loose a game your supposed to win it makes thing tough. I have waited to post because It would be easy to fly off the handle. This year is very unfortunate for the seniors. I am a Oak Ridge fan all the way. I try to be realistic. This senior class just isn't what last years senior class was. Not in numbers or talent. There just isn't as many play makers. You gotta realize these juniors have not had to carry the load until this year. To me its just like watching any one that is really good at something their talent makes what they do look easy. For the past two years the former junior and senior class has had the talent to make this senior class as sophs and juniors basically spectators on Friday nights. This years Oak Ridge team is basically mentally a JV team playing Varsity. The mental mistakes ect. are very JV like. I don't think it is right to be arrogant and say OR is gonna win just because they are OR. I absolutely think it humble to say the way things are at OR this year is just a temporary thing. A natural cycle in High School Sports. The kids that have been playing JV the past several years are playing Varsity this year for the first time as seniors they are learning the hard way just having an OR on your helmet doesn't mean you are gonna win against teams OR is traditionally supposed to beat. I think a very valuable lesson that will manifest itself in a return to prominence in the next two years is being ingrained in the Juniors and sophs minds. I know it is thought but rarely said a lot of people in OR didn't like Stevens getting the job. Those people are opportunist that are taking advantage of a year that isn't going very good for a lot of reasons to throw Stevens the QB and others under the bus. That's not fair to the players or the coaches. Is it Stevens fault they haven't progressed as he had hoped. I don't think so, what was he supposed to do throw in the towel after the DB game. If memory serves me correct didn't Sevier Co. win the state a few years ago. Every once in a while a group of kids come along and elevate a traditionally mediocre program and vice verse. Friday was McMinns night to shine. I am a fan of all the kids that work hard and make a commitment to do what they do for nothing more than a love for the game in general. Can we second guess the decision to go for the win Friday sure. Nothing wrong with that. I don't know how many people heard what Stevens said to David Clary after the game. He said if he had that situation to do a hundred times he would do the same thing. I respect that. In my humble opinion I thought he should have went for the win at the end of regulation and in OT I would have ran it instead of trying a pass when the QB was 13 of 21 on the night. But really who is to say. There are many different ways to look at that situation. If it had worked Stevens is a hero right now. The people that didn't like going for two I suppose reasoned that the defense was in a better position to stop McMinn and win the game in the second overtime. The D has been carrying the offense all year. Nothing wrong with that either. I don't know if OR will make the playoffs this year. I posted early in the season they could go 6-4 if they do I don't think it is because the players and coaches wanted it that way and they haven't laid down and just let it happen. Ya'lls opinions are as valid as mine. I could be wrong but you could be too. The time the juniors and sophs are getting to play to me is just like money inn the bank. If that experience is what it takes to make OR a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming years (and I think it is) as unfortunate as it is for this class of seniors it will have been worth it. stink it up stop playing the blame game and do the right thing go to the games support the kids cheer when they do well try to pick them up when they fall short and have the confidence in the program that the sun will shine on the mighty wildcats again sooner rather than later. Just one last thing The Owls better enjoy it while they can they will be embarrassed by OR in the upcoming seasons and Maryville FANS better hope they don't schedule DB or OR cause a good old fashion butt whoopin would probably make most of those arrogant fans jump off a bridge. Why don't they move up to 5A well I don't think that is too hard to figure out.

I think Oak Ridge showed a lot of improvement last week. It was the first week they looked like they might be rounding the corner. Some peeps couldn't believe some OR fans, including me weren't thrilled about beating Bradley Co. It was lopsided but OR looked terrible. Last week they won and the score was lopsided again but I think OR looked so much better. I am a little concerned about Mcminn. Last year they were getting beat 21-0 just a few mins in the first quarter. They rallied back and OR was fortunate to finally break them. If that happens tonight how will the young cats respond? Kudos to the CATS. They looked better much better tonight. I kinda got bashed a little about not being satisfied with the win over Heritage. The fact of the matter was even with a lopsided score the Cats looked bad. JC wasn't a very good team either and the score was similar. The difference was the way OR looked doing it. They still had too many illegal procedure penalties they just simply looked like they are improving...finally. Those are the kind of things that can be fixed fairly easy. Hats off to coach Stevens even tho he made the comment that coacht posters didn't know anything except what they see on Friday nights. That was kinda funny because what we see on Friday nights is where the rubber meets the road. I made a sarcastic remark in one of my earlier posts about getting to where we need to be in two weeks. I was really very skeptical they could improve that much when they have looked so average the first 4 games. If they can continue to improve from week to week as much as they did from last week to this week they should be able to avoid a round one visit to Kingsport. Irby, Rogers, Coffee and the rest of the soph class continues to impress me. Or's future looks very bright. I am going to go out on a limb and predict another trip to Murfeesboro in 2008

I guess maybe I over reacted a little but there were two incidents that I could see, one was a no call close to the beginning of the game. A defensive player had his whole head and shoulders in the nuetral zone when the ball was snaped. The other was the call that gave OR 5 or 6 plays to score their second touchdown. I didnt mean it was ANYTHING like it was at Jeff Co. last year. I guess I just dont like local refs calling these games. I know the story...those guys have regular jobs and get paid very little blah blah blah. My feelings are these kids go to school full time and they don't get paid a dime. It just seems seems like something could be done to make sure the refs do not have a conflict of interest. Did yall hear about what happened between the Owls and Govs this past week? Bad Refs and home cookin really takes away from the game. I hate to hear that about the JV. There are a lot of sophs coming up that could uplift this program. Some need more playing time on Fridays right now. Maybe just Maybe a leader will emerge out of the senior or junior class in the next couple weeks so they can right the ship before they find themselves at 5-5 or 6-4 going into the post season. I don't think any one wants to go to DB in the first round. It's by no means too late to change all that but time is runnin out.

I know the board rules champ this topic was for discussion purposes. Wheather or not it is aganist the "board rules" or not it still happens a lot. Rules 1,2,3,4,5,13 and 16 also are vauge in nature and are allowed in almost every topic. I was trying to encourage the why of not doing it not vauge rule interpetation. Thank You

Is this gonna be another flag bowl? I hope not. I don't like home cookin at home or away. I will have to say it seemed like there was a little home cookin at the ship last week and personally it really ticked me off. As far as the game goes It depends, If Jefferson can move the ball early in the game and OR starts out this game sluggish like they did last week it could be bad for the cats. There were a lot of games last year that Stevens went for the jugglar on the first play and scored. Now it is taking most of the first quarter to get on the board. If OR lets the pats hang around too long OR will record their second loss of the season. Oak Ridges' offensive has to get it together they have to keep the defense off the field long enough for them to catch their breath. The offensive side needs to execute because OR doesn't have a snowballs chance in Haties if they don't. The defense accounted for at least 14 of the 37 they scored last week. That means the big O scored less than 30 points on a team so bad they could not get out of their own way. This is week 5, I am excited cause I only have 3 or 4 weeks left until the cats come alive. There will not be any excuses after that. OR 21 JC 17 I may change my scores later but thats my prediction for now

Is it wrong to call out by name or positon a particular player in a post? Are they too young? Does it matter the position? Is say calling out the line different than say a receiver. I know what I believe what are your thoughts.

I would like to see OR start making teams pay when they blitz. The blitz has been a thorn in OR's side since Riverdale two years ago. It was a factor in both losses last year, and it seemed to me to be a factor last week. I would like to see OR exploit other teams weakness and then use what they do well aganist them too. I am gonna go ahead and make a fool of myself and predict a score OR 35 H 10 If for whatever reason OR lets Heritage hang around too long it could be a lot closer. I hope the Cats jump hard and fast. In my wildest dreams I can't imagine OR coming up short this week.

Thanks Tank for the whole ask yerself a question and answer it format. Seems to be working very well. It really cuts down on the arguments. I tried it but I knew who I was and ended up beatin the crap out of myself.
