  1. NET fan you had been doing so well as of late. But this is some funny stuff here. Makes no sense at all. Not one single good baseball point made. Give us some help here. How bout a SH player that won't play and where he beats a starter out at THS or DB please.
  2. Write it down. DB 5th! I love it! The pitching in the Big 9 this year looks to be very good. There are several men consistantly above 85. The Hill : McKinney (GA. Tech)and Norris upper 80's +, Nat Pat and Sharpe are tuff as well THS: Krebbs (Carson Newman)has gas , Sleeper kid from NC, couple of strong underclass arms South: Archer (has offers) should be at his best ever this year Volunteer: Frazier (Milligan) Crockett: Massie (Milligan) and Freeman Boone: Connell (soph) lefty , stays healthly and he is high 80's The Tribe: Harvey (has offers) , Overcast, Doran , Brandon got the job done late last year and summer. Doran and Fantin have had a great winter Have not heard much from East or Central.
  3. Well TCSF it all comes down to pitching. I feel like the Tribe has a solid starting 4. It is the next level that they need to pick it up. Soph's Seabolt, Bellamy and Cross are the future arms and we will need them this spring. Osborne and Big Dave must be able to fill the gaps and close out some games. I feel like the Indians will have a solid hitting line up . The defense looks pretty good. Should have a tight infield. Soild up the middle at Short and 2nd ,good speed and arms in the outfiled, pretty good behind the plate. We will see.
  4. Unicoi County Home and away. Betsy Home. Both of those home games will be Saturday games at The Fred. Oak Ridge, Morristown East, Seymour, Pigeon Forge all @ home. A very good home schedule this year, maybe some help for the woes we had with the field last year. Is it confirmed the Districts will be played @ Central this year? Science Hill has that site listed on their schedule. Not 100% 0n Tourneys. The Tribe will host the Coca Cola Tournament again this year. April 1st thru 3rd. Have not seen the entry list yet.
  5. Well I thought it was kinda funny and I know what kind of person I am. If you are going to play that way expect it. If you are a varsity level player playing in the big 9 then you better be prepared to be responsible for your actions. Heck it is criminal the way they play at times. Wanna hear some serious comments about the events that happened with the Falcons. Start with the Vikings game Tuesday night. Cap says great coaching, I say typical Volunteer style. Win at any cost. Can't play with them then create a game plan that will get inside their head. That is status quo from age 6 and up in any given sport in the Church Hill . Been there seen it. Same deal as what happened at Crockett last week. Same deal as at DB time and time again . Want to rave about this then you really should be calling am 640 in the mornings and getting on Kenny Hawkins about wjhl showing the clips over and over all weekend That is shamless promotion.
  6. Plueeze..all D1 . Thats more mail than Ole Santa gets.. Pretty cool though I didn't know the (NNY) Newport Nail Yankers recruited this far south.
  7. Add the Admirals and you have most of the field covered. Matt Kirkland from South Doyle is getting some serious props this year. Mckinney and Norris Pitchers , Lance Reed Catcher from Science Hill. They return with a soild infield. Freeman and Massie from Crokett, they also have a soph with some gas but control probs Archer from South Several more have potential to make waves in upper east. Payne ss ,Tn Hs Overcast and Harvey pitchers, Crawford ss, DB. couple more ready to step up Connell from Boone lefty with some heat needs to be more consistant Big 9 should be a pretty good conf this year but getting past Ktown will take some skill and luck. Should be an exciting year for sure.
  8. Phillip Phieffer is ranked #10 and Daniel Norris #22 in the country class of 2011. Hillis, Both Coopers, Watson and McKinney are the top prospects in Tn this year.
  9. Well them boys from Hauc.....kins County may not be very good at anything short of farming but they are an entertaining bunch for sure.
  10. Eddie, My best advice is go big or go home. You really don't want little Johnny stepping on the field with an inferior bat do you. Poor kid is going to be the subject of some harsh jokes if you send him to the field with a 1988 model bat. Ha! The 2008 Synergy should be a decent bat. That is a real good price. IMO With Easton some of the lower end bats tend to get dented a bit easier. Especially in cooler weather. Make sure you get a warranty with the bat. The transition to a -3 drop is a big deal. Put a wood bat in the young mans hand and get him to the cages.
  11. Does look like The Toppers will be back in force again this year. D-No and McKinney are about as good as it gets on the mound. Solid lineup again this year. DB should rebound very well this spring with an improved pitching staff and a great field to work with this year. Overcast, Harvey , Doran and Brandon should start the season in pretty good shape on the mound. Need a couple more arms to really get there, hopefully there are a couple more that will step up. The Tribe should be much improved over last year. Couple of holes to fill out this spring but should be pretty good all the way around. Crockett looks to be a formitable foe as well this year. Massie and Freeman should lead the team with some solid hitting and pitching. Coach Payne has a solid core of players for THS Vikes. South could be down this year compared to last. But they still have some good baseball players. Archer should have a great season. It's in the air and only a month away from the 1st scrimmages.
  12. Yes and yes. His size and adapting to varsity play may limit his playing time early on but once he gets some time on the court. Not to mention there are a few very good upper classmen players ahead of him. IMO he will be one of the best in East Tennessee in the coming years.
  13. Derrick Steele , DBHS. All State in 2010 and 2011. Smooth as silk and will pick your pocket lickity split!
  14. Congrats to South for a good season. Good luck to G'ville against M'ville!
  15. Seabolt is one heck of an athlete. Strong , fast and quick reflexs...He needs to bulk up to go to the next level or he will continue to be "accident prone".
  16. I am sorry to hear about the accident. My heart goes out to the school and the families. You are in my prayers.
  17. To the folks at South I am truly sorry to hear about the accident today. My heart goes out to the families and the school. My prayers are with you.
  18. Come on Fletch. "out of respect" They didn't play and we were in the Big Boy league. Face it Daddy , when you guys dropped us so you could get your chance at the perfect season you gave up your chance to make the statement you did. So come on back next year and get your chance. Yep you just keep calling them like you see them. BTW good luck Friday night to you and your boy, he has done a fine job this year. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. The Seniors can take the fact they were part of a team that did go 10-1 and hands down was the best team in Upper East Tennessee. Not taking anything away from South as they do have a very good team and I do wish them the best in the coming weeks. Good luck in round 2 to a very good McMinn football team. The spectators have voiced their opinions, I dare say not so many fans have. I have my opinions same as many others. Alot of things can happen in sports. What ever you may dismiss it to. Bottom line ( and maybe it is part of the DB arrogance) we feel we have one of the best all around High Schools in the state. They offer the students facilities second to none in the Classroom and in Sports. The education gained at the school continues to be one of the 5 or 6 best to be offered by any school in the state. I will take that for our students anytime over a state championship year in and year out. It's pretty dang tough to get into college or get a very good job with a state championship ring, but the Ole DB sheep skin can open many a door. Remember spectators it's only entertainment for you, only the players and the coaches have the emotional ties to the out come. No need to drag them down any further, I assure you they feel your pain. I wish our seniors the best in their future efforts.
  20. This might be the best DB thread to read all season. On another note I know coacht has to sell ads to keep the site live, but hey can the Hussein ads
  21. I was at the game , I saw it all ..from the ref's to the totally unsportmans like conduct from the players. After Friday night I am glad the re-classification opens up the spot on the schedule that the Pats use to fill. I had posted earlier about how tough and competitive these games had been in the past from the Freshman , JV and Varsity but there was no excuse for their (Jeff Co.) play on the field . Waco is correct the game films should be reviewed by the TSSAA. If it walks like a duck, if it talks like a duck, well it must be a duck. If calling a duck a duck gets you banned I will take a pink slip as well. Moaning ,whinning call it what you want. We know every time a DB team steps on the field they have a big target on them. If you beat the Tribe..they just made you famous. But to try to do it with out any class or style it just shows how weak you really are. Best of luck to the boys from Newport.
  22. Enjoy it whille you can? We have my man , for many years and many more to come. This year last year next year ....ha ha!! WE ARE DB!
  23. Not hard to build a defensive game plan , It is call the Blitz. Pretty easy to get the "X's" in place just need to get the "O's" drawn up now. /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" />
  24. All kidding aside. I have a lot of respect for all of the SWVA teams, most of the time they take a little and make a lot of what they got. They do bring out the best in your players and coaches.
