  1. I've never labeled White House as arrogant, but this is pretty plain that they think they should take over 4-AAA by virtue of merely being White House. It's good that they had a good week of practice. It's good for them that they played a good game last week. But the more I read I tend to agree that White House fans get a little testy when someoone steps on their toes, or points out problems in their passing game. If you want to be a fan, but try be a humble fan. Until the playoffs are over, White House owns nothing, but a free bus ride home.
  2. White House is probably thinking they will come back and win this round. Hopefully Porter is not thinking about passing to do so. Big mistake if he is. That's been shown by incomplete passes and interceptions like in the last two weeks. Greenbrier is probably thinking they just want to keep this thing rolling. The game two weeks ago gave them the confidence to know what it takes. Consistency and power is the name of their game. Should be a good one but somebody wins, somebody goes home. I agree with the other 90% on the Big Ones. Greenbrier has too much strength to let this one get away. I predict Greenbrier wins by 7 (or more).
  3. Creekwood will win this one. My prediction is by 10.
  4. Pearl Cohn is playing with motivation in memory of their teammate. Notre Dame is playing with the motivation that they are undefeated. Unforunate for Pearl Cohn, Notre Dame has the home field advantage. I think it will be close, but I think Notre Dame at home will make a difference. ND 21 Pearl Cohn 17
  5. Austin East has the potential. I just think they will get this thing rolling and not look back. AE 24-10
  6. Greenbrier will win this one. Too much momentum to stop now.
  7. White House fans are pushing for Ladd to be Mr. Football. He might well be. But check out White House's website. Pearl Cohn contained him to 86 yards that night. What was PC's game plan? If one team can do that, I suppose Polk can too. And the game from Week 10, other than his 73 yard break out, how many did he get play for play in rushing? Only 118 -121 yards (minus that 73), approx 50 yards? I wouldn't call that pounding the ball up the gut. Yes he can bump off a player and cut, but if Polk's bullseye is on him and they pressure the QB, White House will have a tough time. And someone says he has humility. He bounces that head around like he thinks he's a NFL player. White House will roll over when he's gone. It's a shame that these fans never talk about what the other kids on the BD team are doing. They will roll over after this year cause they base it all on Ladd. I think Polk will make tomorrow night the night the crying begins in White House. In my opinion Michael Dallas is better and has more yards by about 500 yds. He should get the Mr. Football. If TSSAA skips those stats for Ladds, I would say it's about more than yds.
  8. This won't be little country Macon County. If it's downtown-downtown Chattanooga, can you spell kevlar?
  9. I believe Tullahoma will come out on top. Beech has done well this year, since your admin changed coaches but I think Round 1 will be the end of the line for now.
  10. Without question, "Marvulle" will marvel us all. Looking forward to seeing this one!
  11. Gallatin can just drop by and get this job done. They're just too strong and powerful to lose this one.
  12. You're kidding. I don't even read the board that but I've read many times White House posting about them being in 4A but they really "belonged" in 3A and how this year they would sweep the region. Well now you're in 3A and your #3? Polk will be a test of skill for White House. All Polk's coaches will have to do is sit on White House's #4, 23 and 29 and keep them contained. Then what will you do cause that's all you got. Your QB has an arm to heave it but it's not accurate and Porter knows it, and so will Polk the first few times they see him pass. You even post on the board yourselves about not having confidence in your own QB. If I were a reciever I wouldn't want him throwing to me too high like he does that I have to jump to get it. No sir, that can get a receiver hurt. Polk will take advantage of that and put the pressure on #12. You can't keep riding on the coattails of Ladd. If he gets injured, you're done, that's why you lost the first three games wasn't it? On top of that a four hour ride compared to a Polk's fans at home will drive the final nails. I think Polk will keep this win at home 28-14.
  13. This is the game I picked to come to last night, even though I could have stayed home to watch it on CSS. What was shown on CSS didn't begin to capture the atmostphere. This place was rocking. Fan comraderie, and spirt to boot on both sides. It was one of those times when you just "had to be there". Both teams played a hardfought game, but something was in the air that the Bobcats were a team of destiny last night. After Ladd's first long run, they found the answer to keeping him contained. When you consider he had 118 yards and 73 of them were on one run, I'd say that is great defense. He is good, but other than a few runs by Hargrove and West, White House's scoring appears to be riding on the back of Ricky Ladd. On the other hand, I came to the game thinking the Bobcats had too much momentum going to stop now. From all the things I've heard from coaches of opponents and read in stats, I saw a show from Herndon, Pigg, Dill, Robertson, and Krisle. Their supporting cast deserves an ovation too. They saw what they wanted and they found a way to get it done. I would expect the same from them if they play White House again in Round 2. Thanks for the hospitality Greenbrier. You made it well worth the trip. Best of luck to both teams in the playoffs.
  14. Good luck to Greenbrier. You know what's at stake. How bad do you want it? No mistakes, no flags. My advice would be as a great coach once told me: Losing is not an option.
  15. Exactly how is a guy that runs the play the way the COACH calls it is called "unselfish"?? Anybody with 1200+ yards doesn't sound like he turns down chances to run the ball. You guys DO let the Coach call the plays, don't you? Then it's them spreading it around. Not the player being "unselfish."
  16. If you can get your foot in the door at Riverdale, you will be in an excellent school system. And a football powerhouse. Everybody in Tennessee that watches any high school football knows Riverdale.
  17. Gallatin has the power and momentum to take this one to the house.
  18. History won't matter Friday night. Looking at past history and records tells alot of coaching abilities but teams change from year to year, but we're in the here and now. I've looked at both these teams scoring on opponents, win-loss and yardage and this is not the same old White House long pass, touchdown team. Yes passing is getting better, but is limited to say the least. Ladd is a top-notch back, but I also see from stats that Greenbrier is not allowing many points, and they are known for a stingy, brick-wall defense. Shutting down SC didn't really make a big deal in my mind, shutting down Sycamore did a little more because of their decent running back, and it was two in a row, but then after having been at a game against PC and seeing their line with Bobby Council, the Bobcats shutting them down made me know they're for real. Winning against Macon makes a statement too, because Dallas is not a cupcake. I've got to admit that I was impressed with their State run last year and getting into the finals, but with all the talk of their rebuilding, I came into this season thinking White House would be the 4-3a front runners. But I was again surprised out of the gate when this team beat David Lipscomb early on. I don't see many teams that can say that. It's turned out everyone assuming there would be tame kittens has turned these boys into Bobcats on the prowl. I was right about PC going in a little too confident, and overlooking and I foresee the Devils having the same demise. Sometimes all a team needs is to to turn the corner in their minds about past history, and bring on the confidence. They are a 5-0 team with superb ability. I predict it will all come to fruition Friday night. Greenbrier 17 White House 10
  19. According to the Tennessean, Bobby Council got 20 yards (all night) against Greenbrier. Another post said that Pearl Cohn didn't get inside the 20 at all. Sounds like it's going to be a tough game.
