Tyner may skip 3A and move up to 4A in order to cut down on travel time.

Tyner will be a lot smaller then they have been over the last 8 years, but they are still very quick and I look for big things from Josef Rutley. I'm not sure how the rest of the region is looking, but I can't understand why Sequatchie would hire Tim Taylor as an offensive coordinator.

Was your team even in the playoffs? It's pretty pathetic when a grown man has that much animosity towards a group of teenagers that he doesn't even know.

DL came out and executed very well, they wanted the game more and deserved to win. I could only see three players from Tyner that even looked like they wanted to be there. Good luck to DL, they have a great shot and winning state again.

Tyner's 360 yds rushing to 60 for GP, so who was getting pushed around? It's funny how Tyner made no adjustments, but some how Turner for GP didn't catch any passes in the second half. #77 for Tyner must really be good if the D-Line was standing up and getting pushed around and he still managed to crush the GP fullback in the backfield on the games final drive. The QB that is so bad had about 100yds. passing and 100yds. rushing including the highlight of the night when he juked three GP players to set up the winning touchdown. The bottom line is that the better team will win on Friday night, if DL wins I will give them their props.

Kirkman was more of a vocational school during its final days. The majority of the sutdents were there to learn a trade, not to play football. Tyner is one of only three Chattanooga based schools that has won a state championship, and don't forget about the year that they finished as runner up to a team that now has 4 people in the NFL. As far as Tyner being able to get players from all over the county, just remember that when the team made back to back state final appearances they were not a magnet school. Their isn't a need to be spiteful toward the Tyner program just because they beat you every year.

I really can't see either team winning this game easily. Everyone who is predicting a blowout for either side needs to use a little common sense. Tyner will be the bigger and faster team, but DL is undefeated and ranked #1 for a reason. I do feel that Tyner will win, but I'm not going to make a prediction on the score since you can never really tell whats going on in the mind of a teenager.

Nobody should take the posting from the Tyner fans too seriously. Tyner is not going to take DL lightly, the coaching staff and players know what DL is capable of. 98% of Tyner's players probably don't even read anything from this site.

What does having fan support have to do with football? If Tyner comes out with a high intensity level and ready to play, then they can win easily. If they come out flat with no emotion, then it could easily be like last year.

You must be a member of a public school that Tyner has blown out over the last few years. Tyner has been the most consistent team in the Chattanooga area over the past eight years, and nobody at Tyner has to pay tuition. The school started being called Tyner Academy, because the former principle wanted to be responsible for something.

Tyner has had 8 players nominated since 97', including 2 for this year. 4 of them have brought home the award, and Demonte Bolden is attempting to be a two time winner.

Boyd has a more diversified offensive and defensive attack, and that should carry them into the semis.

#88 for GP gave Tyner lots of problems in the first half, but they made an adjustment at the half and he didn't catch anything else the entire night. Tyner moved the ball in the first half, but they were hurt by turnovers. Other then 4 big plays by #88 for GP in the first half, their offense was non-existent. Tyner rolled up over 360 yards on the ground, compared to around 60 for GP.

Goodpasture didn't give up, Tyner came out in the second half and beat them up. The hit that Greg Smith put on the GP fullback was nasty. Tyner can be very scary when they get motivated, and DL may have to find this out the hard way.

I expect to see a very physical game next Friday. Both teams will want to keep the ball on the ground, but the game could come down turnovers.

Thomas Battle from Tyner has been getting overlooked this year, because of the notariety that Smith and Bolden have been getting. He's 6'2 310lbs., and has done a great job of protecting the OB's blind side and caving in the left side, so that Bolden and Smith can pull on the counters that they like to run.
