  1. I really don't see anyone giving Tyner much of a fight, until The Knox Fulton game. However, the second half of the season will be tougher with McCallie, BGA, and Boyd to end the season.
  2. Tyner will have too much speed for Bledsoe, and they're probably stronger in the middle as well. Tyner- 60 Bledsoe Co.- 0 The same score that the 97' team posted on Bledsoe.
  3. Can anyone tell me why this game is being played on Thursday and not Friday?
  4. What was the final score, and how did Tyner look.
  5. Why not just a ride a couple of miles down the road and play Tyner?
  6. I'm actually more worried about Goodpasture's big fullback running between the tackles. If Tyner has to put eight in the box to stop him it could get real ugly tonight, but I have faith that the Rams will come away with a close victory.
  7. 1996- Tyner loses in the state championship game to a Melrose team who featured (Cedric Wilson, Kendall Morehead, and Andre Lott among others), but I'm sure that it was bad coaching that lost that game. 1997- Tyner defeats DL in the 3rd round and goes on to beat a very good Union City team in the state championship. Bad coaching??? 1998- Tyner loses to DL team that eventually lost in the state championship. 1999- Tyner beats DL in the playoffs and loses to eventual state champion Goodpasture. 2001- Tyner beats DL in the playoffs, but loses to Goodpasture. 2002- Tyner loses in the playoffs to eventual state champion DL. 2003- Tyner beats Goodpasture in the playoffs, but loses to a DL who made it to the state championship game. 2004- Tyner is 9-1, and region champs once again. The only problem that Tyner has is a lack of resources. They may have some very good athletes, but they only have a few coaches to work with the kids. The next time that you attend a Tyner vs. DL game or a Tyner vs. GP game, be sure and compare the number of coaches on each side line and keep in mind that Tyner doesn't have any coaches in the press box.
  8. I'm really not sure why you think that Tyner will have less coaching. No one expected them to be 9-1 this season, but I guess that coaching has nothing to do with that.

    Drug tests

You might as well let the kids do what thier gonna do and get it over with, because you may be able to control them now but once they go off to college their gonna experiment and go buck wild if you try and shelter them. Just remember that the President of the United States used quite a few drugs in his day, and I think that he's doing ok for himself.
  10. I wasn't able to make it to the game, but it sounds like Melvin White and Desmond Hendrix both had great games. However, I was kind of shocked that Rutley only had 123 yards rushing.
  11. Josef Rutley is as good as anyone in this area. Last night should have put him over 1,000 yards with just about 100 carries. As far as the game goes, Tyner has to start finishing off their drives. You should be dominating a team when you have nearly 300 more yards of offense. Sequatchie Co. and Polk Co. should be a great game.
  12. I'm not sure why this issue was even mentioned, but the Bonny Oaks/58 area students would be in Central, East Chatt. area students would go to Brainerd/Howard, and the East Brainerd students would probably go to Ooltewah.
  13. Tyner could beat Ooltewah or Soddy.

    Tyner At BGA

Tyner isn't very big this year, but they will still have the speed advantage.
  15. 1. LFO 2. McCallie 3. Ooltewah 4. Soddy Daisy 5. Baylor 6. Boyd Buchanan 7. Tyner 8. Cleveland 9. Notre Dame 10. Central
  16. I think that it still could have been a great game this year. It would be fun to see two of the best running backs in Chattanooga go at it. Caldwell has been averaging over 200 yards a game, and Rutley who is averaging 15 yards per carry would have the same type of numbers if he could ever get the touches.
  17. Lack of fundamentals and no discipline, those are some pretty harsh words to say to a team that you haven't beaten since they joined the region in 97'. And I was always very proud to be one of the 1 or 2 white boys in uniform that you speak of, which is why I wear my championship ring that was won by me and the rest of my undisciplined team.
  18. After seeing the Marion and Tyner game last week, I have to honestly say that Sequatchie should win by 2 touchdowns. Marion's pass defence is as horrible as ever, and they're not very aggressive up front.
  19. Tyner wins 49-19, but the team still has a lot of room for improvement.
  20. I'm not worried about Tyner's secondary, they saw a better quaterback last week. I'm more worried about them being able to dictate the game at the line of scrimmage.
  21. Is Marion throwing the ball any this year, or is it the same split back veer, I-formation type sets with a lot of option.

    Tyner @ Marion

Marion has a chance if they win the field position battle, limit Tyner's big plays, and keep turnovers and penalties to a minimum. I'm curious to see if Marion has improved in the secondary, because in years past we've always been able to go to the air anytime we needed a big play.
  23. The Tyner Offensive line needs quite a bit of work. They are not only a lot smaller then usual, but they also don't seem to be very agressive. The passing game also has to improve, or teams will continue to keep eight in the box and blitz nearly every play. However, Tyner still has backs that can go the distance on any play. The Rams should win 42-14
  24. You can move up more then one division, look at Trousdale Co. going 1A to 3A. If Tyner was in 4A they would only have to travel to schools like East Ridge, Central, Brainerd, Red Bank, Cleveland, Rhea Co., and I think Walker Valley will be 4A next year.
  25. Can Tyner bounce back after being dominated in the second half by McCallie, or can Marion use momentum from week 1 to go 2-0?
