Clarification: I'd like to see several bowls started up for teams like this. Many good bowls went by the wayside after the current playoff system was established.

What you said about two good teams being left out of the playoffs is so true. I hate to see that happen to any good program. Regardless which of the 5AA teams make the 3rd and 4th seed, two other schools with good football will be gearing up for roundball season. I'd like to see a couple of bowls started back up for teams like this.

I'm picking Riverside in a low scoring upset, unless they look ahead to Camden Central.

I'll pick the Riverdogs in an upset 28-21. (A surprize to everyone except Riverside.) I just think the Panthers want more this year than a playoff berth. They want a home playoff game and the region championship if possible. This will be that game of the week in Region 6 2A.

I think they are good, but should be, at least 2A - always. That's all I'm going to say.

Camden has beaten Tiger High 4 out of the last 5. Can the C-town train keep rolling through Waverly this week or will the Tigers pull an upset? Does Waverly have enough speed?

I'm not a coach but I see it all the time. Many of the parents are so idiotic that it's going to get to the point where we cannot even get anyone to coach. I do see high school football becoming more like college used to be and college becoming more like pro football of the past. Some of the high school programs are ahead of the others (like some school systems are ahead of others) and are leaving some of the programs in their dust. There's a lot more to high school football these days than there was in the days of yesteryear too. Hope I don't step on any parent's toes but about 70% of them don't have a clue; about football or their own children's run-abouts. And if they would put in the hours that these coaches do with the kids, they might have a better view of what high school football (and school in general) is all about.

Can anyone tell me something about Region 5-2A? I'm getting playoff fever now and I want to start figuring who's coming to town and where some of the 6-2A teams will be traveling?

(Riverside) The hardest one to pick is Houston Co. @ Stewart Co. I picked Houston because their seniors have never lost to Stewart. Congrats to the Riverside Panthers for making the playoffs. Who will be the other representative besides Camden, Lewis Co. and Riverside? Will it be Waverly or Loretto?

This round one game will have some serious ripples on 7-AA and the playoff picture that is beginning to form. Toss up a coin: heads it's Milan, tails it's Huntingdon - and then they'll meet again in November for round two. Good football!

I'm glad to see Henry Co. winning; looks like a step down in classes will help them more than I thought. Maybe some good rivalries will come about and they can stay 4A for a few years. That Nashville 5A business was not good for any of the parties involved.

The best defense Camden went against in 04 was Riverside. The Panthers have kept their same defensive troops somewhat intact and have improved tremendously on offense. Book this: Riverside will be in the playoffs, along with Loretto, Lewis Co., and Camden. I thought Richland was much better than Loretto until I saw them play at Camden. Loretto is in the mix in November.

This game was huge, and will prove so in week nine or ten for the 4th place position and a playoff birth.

I always thought M69 was a coach until he started posting about cheerleading items. He is a cotton picker for sho. From a neutral point of view, the Rebs have better fans than Huntingdon. The average Huntingdon fan is 75.2 years old.
