  1. It will be a toss up whether CCS even makes it back this year, don't forget about Hixson. And I would have to say, even though they do recruit, Baylor has the best golf team, but they dont get a car.
  2. I have played both courses numerous times and I love them both. I think Old Fort is the better venue for several reasons: 1. It is probably cheaper than Tims Ford 2. Tim's Ford does not have the amenities near by that Old Fort has (ex. hotels, restaurants) 3. Old Fort has a better set up for high school caliber golfers. There are a lot of high school golfers that can play anywhere, but there are quite a few players that would struggle mightily at Tim's Ford, mainly due to the high fescue rough, tree lined fairways, and more places to get in trouble. I feel Old Fort can be set up hard enough to challenge the better golfers while at the same time being fair to the rest of the field.
  3. Again, Harris English is one of the best in the State. Congrats to him on that performance and that 50 foot birdie he made to help his team win the State.
  4. I want to say Congrats to Hunter on winning the State, Rhea Co. you called it. I honestly didn't think he would win, but it was a nice surprise. I also want to say Congrats to Derek Rende for making it to the playoff.
  5. Sorry, Chase's performance definitely falls in the shadow of what Hunter Green did in the AAA State Championship at Old Fort. A sophomore shot 71-66 and beat a talented Derek Rende in a playoff.
  6. I don't know Tyler Cassidy personally, but if he wants to play DI he needs to be out there grinding it out on the summer junior tours. He may be doing that, i dont know, but i just wanted to give him some collegiate advice. School golf wont get ya DI.

I told ya at the beginning that Goodpasture was the team to beat and they are hands down the best A-AA team this year. They are going to get that Championship that they lost last year.
  8. Has anyone noticed that Goodpasture is the only team that returned from last year to the State. Just thought that was interesting and shows there are a lot of new guys to watch for.

Sad part is they don't even have the low Region score, they are in second by 4 shots to Knoxville West.

At the beginning of the season I would have said Hixson probably wasn't the favorite in their Region since they lost 4 seniors that led them to winning the State last year. However, I have been impressed with the way the kids have improved. They are led by sophomore Jeremy Lawson who is putting up the numbers the top 3 seniors were last year. I think you can add Hixson to the list of teams to watch out for this post season.
  11. I think the inexperience of Hixson in key positions puts them at a disadvantage. I think Rhea Co. gets this one in a close one. Rhea Co. 24 Hixson 21
  12. This score surprised me. I thought this year this game might be a little closer since Hixson lost a lot of key players. I just hope the Wildcats can keep this up for the rest of the year.
  13. I got a new one for ya. Jay Vandeventer (I hope that is his name). He is a freshman at Baylor, who knows how, and is from Bristol, VA. He shot 66-72 in the Baylor Preseason Preview at Black Creek from the Nationwide tees. That score was by itself amazing, especially in 100* heat and at least one rain delay. So watch out.
  14. Thanks CoachT for the update. I don't like Pickwick. The course is not in very good shape and there are a few holes that are a joke. Why does the TSSAA still use this course?
