  1. Nizzi B.......why don't you use Webster's, Oxford-English, or Merriam's Dictionary......the "Shizz-nick" language that you are using is not accepted nor understood on this site!!!!! Your use of language reminds me of that kid from that "Fat Albert" cartoons. Congrats Mo West...you guys did something that many teams have tried to do for the past several years. Good luck at state. Gotta tell ya - I expected to get on Coach T and see many Maryville fans whining about getting beat. But I stand corrected. Glad to see that Maryville fans can be classy even in defeat. You guys had a great run and you have nothing to hang your head about. Me????? Well, I'm a Central fan and I'm already looking forward to 2004...... Once again....congrats Mo West and best of luck at state against Hillsboro!!!!!
  2. I've heard former South Doyle coach Swafford was interested
  3. ELA - I agree that the wheel fell off the wagon. I didn't know about all of the players changing positions due to injuries, and I'm sure that the injuries during the game didn't help. East Ridge seemed to be hyped for the game and the first couple of series, but you could see them start to deflate after Central scored their first TD. Seems like they just started to give up after that....but that's my perception. Also ELA, you seem to know the East Ridge program pretty good......what was up with all of the "unsportsmanlike" penalities? Frustration? I'm not knocking them, but it sure did seem like a lot. 1FBFAN - my ticket is already punched for the rematch of West & Central. Although Central won the regular season game, these two have been blood-thirsty for a rematch with each other. Should be one heckuva game!!!! Thank goodness we don't have to drive to Chattanooga!!!!!!!
  4. With the questionable track record of Flatt - AND getting hosed by the officials, I think it is understandable why MBA came out flat. (HA HA, what a play on words)
  5. Personally, I don't care for either BA or MBA.......but I hate to see a team lose on a questionable call from officials.....especially on the magnitude as described by many of the people who posted here. As far as Ronnie Carter overturning the call......remember that T$$AA = Ronnie Carter and Ronnie Carter = T$$AA
  6. HTV -I think you are the one with the blinders on, because medman has made some very good points. Since you weren't at the same game that we were, I will give you some examples of what medman was talking about..... Deep into the 4th quarter, Central was penalized for two consecutive offsides penalites because the offense couldn't hear the play call because of the band. Powell's Band decided that this would be the best time to make all of the band parent's happy and prove that they are just as important as the game. Powell's coaches were warned....then Powell's coach threw a temper tantrum and ended up getting a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty. What should have been a 2nd & 20, ended up being a 1st & 5. (Special Thanks to the Powell Panther Band for all of their contributions in giving the momentum back to the Bobcats) The play clock....well I don't know. It did keep running, but it may have been an honest mistake. The problem was eventually corrected by the officiating crew.....and the key word is eventually. Speaking of officiating.....that was one of the most disorganized group of officials that I have ever seen. It's very, very rare that I trash-talk about officials....but these guys couldn't agree on how to eat a Hardee's Breakfast Biscuit!!!! Did somebody forget to tell these guys that it wasn't the CSS game of the week and that they wouldn't be getting any airtime????? Now....if you want to discuss ignorance, attitude and poor sportsmanship - then look no further than the guys running the down-markers on Central's sideline. Once the "momentum" went Central's way.....all these guys could do was argue with coaches and yell at Central's players.
  7. It looks like I am the first Central fan to post something on this thread...... I'll agree that it was one of the best games I have ever seen - but I just wish that we would have won instead Oh well, we hope to see you again on 11/21 - week 3 of the play-offs. In defense of the CHS kicker - MHS is right on...tough angle and long distance - especially with the game-winning field goal on the line. BUT...no one has mentioned anything about the MHS kicker muffing the field goal in the first OT. 15 yds out, pretty much straight on......miss. KevB....technically....the "flu bug" may have been overstated. BUT, quite a few players were dealing with severe head/chest colds. One of Central's starters (Brewer I think) had to watch the game on the sidlelines in a wheelchair from being so weak from the flu. MHSRebs2004...you really, really ticked me off earlier this week with one of your posts. Glad to see that you are giving props to Jackson and Helton after bashing them for their alleged comments Finally....regardless of the game....best wishes to Headrick and the kid that got hurt tonight. Heard it was a nasty leg/ankle injury. Maryville fans...Congrats and I can't think of a better game than this one. It should be interesting to see what happens in round three. Go Central!!!
  8. 2001 Anderson County overcoming a 22 point deficit with 4:22 to in the 4th quarter against Knox Fulton in the 2nd round of the playoffs. AC went on to win by a field goal in OT.
  9. Medman - I follow Central also - glad that we are on the same team!!!! After all of the yip-yap on this page, I was expecting a better game from Halls. I was honestly stunned at the margin of victory....and somewhat dissapointed in the lack of competition.
  10. I thought this website was for Tennessee High School Sports Sounds like gridcoach needs to take his toys and go home.
  11. Speaking of stats....where was Halls stats in the paper today???? All I saw was "N/A" Also, where has "Hallz Ballz" been Medman - I know Halls placed a lot of importance on this game, and if they are going to get into the playoffs, they need to put this game behind them. I think Powell will give them a big challenge, and I ain't too sure that they can get past West.

    Its time

I can't really recall a time when Shavar has been hit hard. He's pretty good at making people miss.....and once they do miss, he is usually 20-30 yards downfield.
  13. It's going to be on that CSS channel that Comcast has - I don't really know if that channel is available through Charter or not. Satellite subscribers won't be able to get it either.

    Its time

I agree - I hope this page sticks to football talk as well. Go air the dirty laundry somewhere else. Considering that they haven't faced any tough competition the past 4 weeks, Central looked impressive tonight and should figure to give Maryville a good fight, but they have to overcome the stupid penalites. I think this one is too close to call, but I'll be cheering for the CATS!!!!
  15. Thanks "Hallz Ballz"......I haven't laughed this much in a long time. Just typing that gives me the giggles!!!!!
  16. Good Lord all Football Fans!!!!! This thread has taken more twists and turns than a Jerry Springer episode!!!! As I have it, it seems that the majority of fans think that Central will win by 2 tds. However, we can't forget the faithful "HALLZ BALLZ" who seems to have an infatuation with the #2...as in points that Halls will beat Central.

    SIEGEL

A player can come back into the game after a concussion.....IF - and only IF all symptoms have dissapeared and the player has returned to a "normal" status and has no lingering side effects. If the symptoms continue, or worsen, then the player is held out for an indeffinite period of time. The decision usually rests with the teams medical staff.

    CoachT

Knox Sentinel has a similar page for local Knoxville area teams. You can access it at Knoxpreps.com Click on the "football shortcuts" and you should be able to find the teams that you are looking for. I must warn you.....it's not very user friendly, but it does has some good stats if you find what you are looking for.
  19. I would have to go with AC's Mounts also. The kid has a great leg. APSU310.......STRONGLY disagree with you. Look at Colquitt of UT. Placement and field position are key.

    SIEGEL

That was some pretty deep crap.... wasn't it?!?!?!?

    SIEGEL

Getting beat stinks....I know....I have been there. You guys are a first year school, and as such, you should expect some serious lopsided games. However, you have an opportunity that many of us never will have. You can set a foundation of hard work, determiniation, and attitiude that will be passed down to future players through the coming years. If Siegal adopts your attitude, then your school has nothing but a "Poor Pitiful Me" attitude to build on. For that...I say congratulations on your 0-10 record.
  22. As usual, this topic almost always turns into a glorified Maryville posting site. I, for one, have grown very tired of their "domination" of class 4-A. I'll be cheering for whoever is playing Maryville. I know some dipwad Maryville fan will take offense to my post, so go ahead and give me your negative comments.....
  23. A few random comments on the "Top 15" # 1 Maryville - once again, the one to beat. They don't restock...they reload. It's nice, but it's also hard to be king of the hill for many years. Could this be Central's year???? #2 Austin-East - these guys will be prepared for the challenges that await them. Never overlook AE. Credit their coach. He is a class act and one of the best throughout the whole southeast. I predict that whoever wins this region will be in the state title game. 3# Central - McCallie was a wake-up....but they haven't faced a "real" challenge since. LOADED on offense....but defense has been somewhat suspect. They have shown improvements since McCallie torched them....but once again - no "real" challenge. Next four games against region opponents with the big game against Maryville on 10/24 #5 Jefferson County - I agree with the "quietly having a good year". This is a work-horse type of team. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys go deep in the playoffs #6 Anderson County - I would think that Kingston was a wake-up call. These two have long been rivals. Experience, talent and depth with Wright, Mounts and Sanders in the backfield should help these guys compete in the stretch run against AE and Fulton. Next up - Fulton. These guys HATE each other!!!! An AC win will give them confidence against AE in the coming weeks. However.....these guys better not overlook the Highlanders of Scott Co. #8 Fulton - Losing to AE really, really upset these guys off. They are good....they know they are good...and they are determined to prove it to everybody. Next up - Anderson County. See above...enough said. #11. Halls- Please stop smoking the crack-pipe!!!! Yes, they are 4-3......but the combinedrecord of the teams that they have beat is 3-22. I guess the Red Devils are a real juggernaut this year!!!!! Remember...they have Central and West coming up. #12 Scott - Good season so far, but the schedule has been kind. I agree that the schedule of death lies ahead with AE, Fulton, and AC. That's not a very pleasant last three games considering that they are going to be challenging the regions top 3 elite teams. #13 Lenoir City - Where do you fit into the Region 2, Class 3A standings????? You guys are sitting at 4-2, with four games left on your schedule. You can win at least three of them.... So - who are you going to lose to, or can you win the rest of them????? Sorry to those that were not mentioned.....I don't know enough about your teams to comment.
  24. Um....skippper....that's actually four words. At least they teach them to count at AC.
  25. Imagine the stats you will have to keep up with if "THE RUMOR comes true.....something about some Clausen kid from California!!!!!!
