Does anyone have any info on middle school softball tournaments or play days in the middle Tennessee area.

Simply put "similiar situations" refer to the fact that many , certainly not all, private school have what some people perceive as an advantage in that they are located in highly populated urban areas and do not have zone restrictions.

I feel that as a coach it is to your benefit to schedule some tough non-region games. It only makes you better come play-off time. I think if I were a 5A/4A head coach it would would be good to schedule MBA/BA or whoever, as a 1A/2A coach it would be good to schedule a USJ/CPA or whoever. Playing against strong competion makes you better. An added plus is that these schools usually have good fans support and that means a good gate ($$$ is always a concern) Playing the privates during the season is fine, but come play off time let the privates compete with those that have similar situations and let the publics compete with those that have similiar situations.

It makes both schools look bad. I am still wondering about the new East hickman High school and how it will affect Hickman co. enrollment numbers.

Hey fatman I didn't know that you were a Harpeth fan. I assumed from all your pro-Lewis co. post you were a panther fan. Unless that is, you're just being classless and posting trash just to try and stir things up. HMMMM???? On a more positive note when is the new East Hickman High supposed to open and what classification would it be in. Would Hickman Co. possibly drop down to AA?

Harpeth is 5-5 and has had a disappointing season where they barely made the play-offs and has no room to talk trash. Huntingdon is 10-0 and should be focused on advancing in the playoffs instead of of focusing on the inane verbal sparring of this board. Neither side has shown much class, whether they have talked about Lewis Co (Harpeth), Mckenzie (Huntingdon), or any other team that they have played. Just play football or support your team and count your blessings that you are still playing when so many other teams have turned in equipment and hung it up for the season.

I think this could possibly be one of the best #4 seed vs. #1 seed games in the play-offs. Both teams have great athleticism and both are very well coached. I will have to go with Crockett Co., but look for Marshall Co. to make it interesting.

Station Camp runs the wing-t (primarily from red/blue formations). Jet sweep, buck, counter xx, belly (iso), waggle, belly pass. They run the offense pretty well. They execute well for young team. They play a very vanilla 50 on defense (cover. 3/2). They are very well coached and a very disciplined team. Coach Hollingsworth and his staff have done good job there.

Why are St. Cecilia and Christian Brothers not run by the Diocese?

I think goldenboy assumed Shane plays football but he only plays basketball. Harpeth will play Stewart Co. (dover) on Jan. 16, 2004. Hope this helps

I have heard that the old Nashville interscholastic league (NIL) did something like this years ago. For example if you went 10-0 you would play in AAA and if you went 0-10 tou would play in A.

Tidwell was wrong for throwing the helmet but, I feel that this just shows sad the state of affairs is when coaches have to deal with parents. I certainly do not condone the coach's actions but this could have been handled differently by everyone. This is also an example of why some people are reluctant to get into coaching or education today. As for why the sued the coach, principal, superintendent, and school board, it is my understanding that when you sue you sue everyone that is possibly linked to the incident in hopes of garnering a bigger settlement. If coach tidwell is like me I am sure he doesn't have $20 million or even $100,000 but, the school board and county will have that money or at least their liability insurance carrier will have to cover it. Finally you have to be kidding about when they served the papers to the coach!

Last year the ran alot of straight T with an unbalanced line. I think they ran a 50 shade on defense but I can remember for sure.

Will the Clarksville Jamboree still be held at Kenwood on the 22nd of Aug. With the budget cuts, is it on. When will a decision be made?

Cheatham County cut the number of asst. coaches for high school football from 5 to 2 in 2000. They still have not said if they will ever reinstate the positions. Basketball only gets 1 asst and baseball/softball has 1 asst. Middle school football only gets 1 asst. M.S. basketball/baseball/softball have no asst. Keep in mind that asst. coaches for football in the county only make a flat $1500 we do not get a percentage (like metro)

I was just wanting to get coaches, players and parents input/opinions on the subject of changing the start dates for HS baseball. For example not starting practice until middle of March (better weather) and not ending the season until late June. I believe Iowa does it this way but I am not sure. What would be the possible benefits or problems with this plan?
