  1. Collinwood and Wayne County had a great practice this afternoon. If this was any indication of the season in our district, then we are in for an exciting year. Both teams hit the ball pretty well. Collinwood had one bad inning with about five errors, while WC also had one with some miscues. Other than that I was impressed with this very young Trojan team. Final tally was 9-8 in favor of Collinwood. Pippenger is probably the best player for WC. He made some good throws and hit the ball pretty well. The CW JV squad held their own with a mostly varsity group. WC seemed to lack in depth. Not sure if they had players missing, or just not that many out. Only 14 players. Collinwood pitched six pitchers, and WC pitched three. I know its early, but Cwood is going to be a tough match-up for alot of teams, and if they continue to get better, may turn some heads. Good luck to WC. Good work out.

  3. COLLINWOOD, Tenn. — Collinwood took advantage of four Lewis County fumbles and got a big play from its special teams as the Trojans opened the season with a home victory. Zach Evans got the Trojans off to a good start in the first quarter, fielding a Lewis County punt and returning it 53 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was no good, and Collinwood led 6-0. Collinwood’s defense then made a big play when Nick Caperton recovered a Lewis County fumble and returned it four yards for a score to extend the lead to 12-0. The Trojans took the 12-0 lead into halftime. Early in the third quarter Collinwood got a 33-yard scoring pass from Jacob Davis to Chase Roberson. Davis then passed for the 2-point conversion to make it 20-0. Roberson later added a 32-yard scoring run to push the lead to 26-0. Lewis County scored a late touchdown to make the final 26-8. 4. No problemo! I'm in Texas, man I love technology. I'll get to BE THERE next week.
  5. Final Collinwood 26 to LC 6. Go Trojans!!!!!!
  6. Trojans up 26-0 in the third quarter. Jacob Davis hit Roberson for a 50 yard td pass and Sanderson had an 18 yard run.
  7. CWood up 12-0 with less than 5 mins left in second. Trojans have the ball at their own 1 after holding LC on fourth and goal. Earlier Zack Evans hit a LC reciever across the middle causing a fumble that was recovered and ran back for a score by the Trojans.
  8. Well I Aint Never Liked Lexington...I Had A Girlfriend over There Once She Was The Worst......Kisser...... I Ever Met! Go Riverside! Let me guess........she had flip flops on her hands.
  9. Best of luck to Scotts Hill. Keep it going. There's nothing like having an entire community behind you. I think it's something you only really experience in smaller towns, where everyone knows everyone and all seem to have a relationship with the program.
  10. Davis is the qb. There are a couple of underclassmen that are priming up. Montgomery and Daniels.
  11. Collinwood travels to Wilson, Alabama this week for yet another installment of the "Border War". Should be a good tune up for the Trojans.
  12. Not sure how good McEwen is. Collinwood handled them pretty easily in the playoff last year. Unless they have really developed WC should get the win by three scores.
  13. I feel you cascade11.....I've been down here in Texas for a year and a half. I had to miss last year coaching the Trojans and I'll miss the first two games this year. Maybe coach Statom will let help out once I get home. I miss it badly, but I have to pay the bills. There is no work around Wayne county.
  14. I wouldn't worry about it, Coach Rice will run the plays he needs to win. I'm sure he's passing the ball to see where his teams stands at this point. That's what scrimmages are for.
  15. Cwood hosted Fayette Academy tonight. I was told the Trojan defense pitched a shut out, and the o scored three times. Good Job Trojans. Man I missed the game and the ice cream supper.
  16. It's a toss up to me. A healthy Cwood is going to be all any of them can handle. MP will be a contender if they stay healthy also. PC the same. One or more injuries could put either of them in jeaprody. I think CW and WC have more balanced talent on their teams though. I'm gonna miss the first two games but I'll be home for the rest of the season. This should be one of the best in years. Good luck to all our teams. Go Trojans!!!!
  17. from what I was told, that was a heck of battle. I too hope it's dry this time. The Trojans are very fast. No turn overs this time.
  18. I hope that the people of Loretto can be patient, and give Busby a real chance to turn that program around. He is a good coach and better man. He will get it right over there. I do believe that Loretto dresses out too many players most years. That can be a good thing, but it can be overwhelming when trying o focus on your staters.
  19. All coaches should be aware that some prescription acne meds that teens take can cause the body to lose water faster resulting in severe dehydration. I've seen this happen. Coaches and parents should be on the same page.
  20. Amen to that. It's a shame that some schools won't allow night practices due to the cost of using the lights. Maybe Obama could get govmnt funding to help pay costs.
  21. Like I said.....if he wants to let his colleagues know then he should go to them, not just throw it out there on a message board in hopes they might see it. If those players are in danger, then he needs to waste no time on posting. Just confront them asap.
  22. I think Collinwood held them to less than 100 yards also.
