  1. List off the top of my head: Riverdale Dobyns-Bennett MBA Oak Ridge Ooltewah Gallatin Melrose Maryville Smyrna MUS Haywood Tennessee High McCallie JCM White Station White House Briarcrest Houston Collierville Stratford KNox Central Soddy-Daisy Christian Brothers Austin-East Catholic These are the top tier teams in the state, IMO. Whitehaven should be on here, maybe Lipscomb or Tyner, I just figure those 5A teams out in West TN are beating up on each other for a reason, so I put them on here. I don't think it's such a bad representation for spending 5 minutes on it.
  2. To me, BGA would still be scary to have on your schedule, even though they are having a down year. Every team once in awhile has a down year. BGA has great respect amongst all TN high school teams, and play with class. And hey, let's face it, when was the last time you'd put "Catholic" and "scary" in the same sentence? Humm, prolly about 10 years ago.
  3. Haywood isn't a pretender. They beat JCM in a tough game. They shouldn't have lost to Millington, though. TN High could upset Maryville in the playoffs, but I believe the crown will go to the West this year. The MAryville-Knox Central game will determine what I think about the 4A playoffs, as we will see how good Maryville really is this year.
  4. I have a feeling Mt. Pleasant will upset someone big this year, come playoff time. You're right about the easy schedule, but the results are intruging. Region 1 is weak, this is true. Region 2, however, is not. The top two teams from region 2 should give Boyd a game this year, no doubt in my mind. It comes down to consistency. Look at the teams that have been consistent in winning, thus far. In my opinion, with the way football has been this year (all the upsets/region wins, losses, etc), the teams that have been consistent will get the trophy. USJ has been consistent. DCA. Boyd/CPA have not. CPA plays up to Riverdale, beats Goodpasture, but ends up playing a close one with Davidson Academy? Boyd probably could've/should've beaten Baylor, and almost gives it up to an up-and-down East Ridge team. But they beat Goodpasture in the second half. I'm not knocking on them, it just looks like something that could come back and get them, with the way football has been going this year, that's all.
  5. Tyner is probably a step or two above Goodpasture. Polk Co. gave them (Tyner) a game. Don't forget Westview out in the...West. Beat up on Huntingdon, played Milan darn close. Alcoa is great this year, no doubt about it.
  6. Probably because they lost to Baylor and almost lost to a decent East Ridge team. Mt. Pleasant (Public School) will spoil some team's hopes of a state title out in the West, I'm sure of this. There are also some powerhouses in Region 2. Coalfield, Midway, and Greenback, could also play spoiler. Boyd's game against Goodpasture will give a good comparision. I expect Boyd to win, as Goodpasture is having a rare rebuilding season, but how big they win, or if they win, will be a good determining factor.
  7. Maryville may have it in the East, but don't overlook Rhea Co. They've beat a quality Jeff Co. team (who played a solid game against DB), and their only loss comes to a good Soddy Daisy team. Plus, can anyone say, "Tim Hammontree?" Of course, they've yet to play the bulk of their region games, so we'll have to wait and see. Out of the West, I believe it's Melrose's year. They've been long overdue to make an appearance, and with Hillsboro seemingly out of the way, a trip to the Boro looks like it's in reach. JCM will play tough, and I like Haywood Co, as well, though.
  8. 1. DB 2. Oak ridge 3. Ooltewah 4. Maryville 5. McCallie 6. Soddy-Daisy 7. knox Central 8. Jeff Co 9. Austin-East 10. Catholic Others: Alcoa, Tyner, Rhea Co, TN High, Webb This is what I thought up in about 3 minutes, but I still feel it's pretty accurate. The teams listed are accurate, where you in particular would want them is a different story, I assume.
  9. Greenback travels down to Midway this Friday. Thoughts?
  10. Of the five games Farragut has played, their opponents' combined record is 4 - 17. So I assume you are correct, it does have to do with tallent. Or, in this case, their opponents' lack of it. --Joe
  11. Well, it's that time of year. This has become some sort of a rivalry in the past few years, in which Greenback is currently leading the series, 4 - 2, I believe. A loss to Sequoyah last year has left Greenback thirsty for revenge. Thoughts? I believe Greenback wins this one big, proving something to 1A football. --Joe
  12. No, it really isn't a good excuse. Not a good one at all. On a side note, I didn't post the previous response on this thread. Usually, when I post under this name, I take note that it is mine, and try to be cohesive with grammar usage and rhetorical skills, etc. In any case, let's face it, Greenback better watch out. When Coalfield comes down to G-Nation, we'll make sure you all have a nice stay in the visitor's locker room, and plenty of concessions to eat after the game, as long as you promise not to beat us too bad. We've seen what you've done to Harriman, and it's a big wake-up call. Hopefully this next week's game against Oakdale will better prepare us for, what is ultimately going to be, a tragic October meeting against a superior Coalfield team. --Joe
  13. Coalfield and Onieda have the easiest schedule. the reason their stats are so high is because they play jellico, harriman, and union county. everyone talks about hensley, michael paul gilbert, but everyone knows they don't play anybody except greenback.i don't play for greenback but look at their schedule they play quality AA,AAA teams when their not playing in their region games coalfeild and onieda talk alot but in the back of their heads they know greenback OWNS THEM!!!!
  14. We did fine. A few kinks in a semi-new defensive scheme, but the offense was clicking. Very balanced. We will be playing William Blount in the jamboree, so I suppose it will be a pretty tough game. --Joe
  15. I've got mono, Tyler had a back injury.
  16. www.earlnall.com --Joe
  17. Anyone know the matchups for the Blount Co. Jamboree at Heritage? I know William Blount and Greenback will play, but that's really about it. --Joe

    Earl Nall

Football season rolls around, and I start posting again. It's madness. Regardless! I've gone to Earl Nall's site and it claims that the newest ratings will be up after August 5th. It's like one of those, "I guess so" things, you know. Earl, or anyone for that matter, any distinction on when the preseason rankings are going to come out? Thanks in advance. --Joe
  19. I don't know who will will but I do know that AE has a better coach than Alcoa there coach knows how to substitute and dont take the players out for messing up only once, instead he leaves them in to correct themselves I think AE 64 Alcoa 42
  20. Who will come out of the east now? Or, who will play in the Semis to go to state?
  21. How do you think this one will turn out? Will Oneida have Douglas back? That could greatly determine the outcome of the game. If Greenback plays like they did against Midway or Gordonsville...and not Oneida earlier in the regular season...I say they will win. Also, how does CAK's victory over Cloudland affect the upper playoff bracket?
  22. Its gonna be g-nation all day baby
  23. timmy50, timmy the tooth id like to see your definition of a strong team. im sure it cant be coalfield seeing how they got their ###### kicked by greenback
