you obviously don't know some of the little things that go on. I know for a fact that it's tough enough to teach players to read signals for their own team, let alone both. There's not enough time between plays for a defensive captain to read the signals from his own coach, and then turn and try to read the signals coming from the other team, no matter what level you play. I can also tell you for a fact that three teams in this county change their armbands each week depending on who they play. Its called gameplanning. Coach A should look into doing that when he gets into the playoffs.

Every year you had erick locke. He was a special athlete. I would say more so that rod was for us. I played against him. he was unnaturally quick and elusive. I thought the year (2000?) y'all lost to red bank you were the better team, the snow was just a huge equalizer. I would also put in the year they lost to brentwood. THat was a great game that came down to the last minute.

tell me the last time you won them back to back. Yes, riverdale was good in the glory years. But even with all those great teams that were by far more talented than most teams they played, they never won back to back. I'm just glad rankin got the whole public private split when he couldn't get past BA in the 90's. That's made it easier on lots of people. Also remember that Riverdale never was split into two schools like Smyrna did with Lavergne being built in the late 80's. If you combined smyrna and Lavergne into one big 5a school those years, it would have been a more level playing field. But then again we can shoulda, woulda, coulda, and all the what ifs all day long. And I know riverdale lost a couple players when blackman was built, but back to my point: Riverdale never won back to back with all those great teams they had.

LOD. don't be mad that smyrna has been able to accomplish what riverdale has never been capable of. We will enjoy our BACK to BACK championships. We were waiting for your "invincible" warriors but they were unable to make it to the meeting. Keasler is the coach that helped scheme a defense that sent your "invincible" warriors packing in the qtrs two years ago. He showed all you have to do is weather the storm and make that "unstoppable" offense keep snapping the ball. And from what I have heard from the boro is that creasy was all too happy to leave the "best team in the state" to go to trousdale. Seems Coach A blamed their problems on him in close knit circles and not the struggles of the offense against WC. But like I said, we will enjoy our 2 championships. Call me when you get back to back rings and we will celebrate together.

this is not the first time the wc coach has thrown a game. i loved his quote in the paper saying his girls might have played harder on wednesday night before they knew who they would be facing on saturday. if he's not careful, that's going to come back to bite him.

you are right, but they have also sat in the bleachers and watched smyrna win two gold balls. that is the only stat that matters.

icould be wrong but i am pretty sure that smyrna out gained indy by 120-150 yds but i am just a little rough on the total yards. oh and bryson is not too old. he's a 'normal' aged freshman.

TSSAA is aware. Smyrna administrators made complaints themselves. However, none of it is being inverstigated.

you seriously need to watch the game film of that catch. your wr's feet, both of them, came down out of bounds. the first one on the line, half his foot was over, the other foot was completely out of bounds. heck, find the news guy that was standing right there, he'll tell you he same thing.

that is incorrect sean. only one foot has to come down in high school and college. but if you watch the game film, you see him jump for the ball and land with his first foot over the line.

there's lots of ifs that could have changed the 4th quarter. like ... what if smyrna catches thepass that would have made it 1st down on like the 10 yd line, or what if the two smyrna defenders that broke on the pass that was beardens 1st td dont run into each other and intercept the ball( or just knock it dow instead of tipping it back to the reciever). There's always going to be a lot of what ifs. that's why you play the games.

Bearden played one heck of a game. This was definately a hard fought game. I know a few have something about the second onside kick. The smyrna player cought the ball in the air, came to the ground with it, and then it came loose when everyone piled on but he had possesion when he came down. A lot of people will probably argue over this for a while, but hey, everyone has an opinion.

you said you watched the video on that inadvert. whistle. I would have taken rod 1 on 1 with mcchurch. Rod won that exact same match up in the first game when wc faked a fg and rod made the tackle. That would not have even been a 1st down. you know though, we all have opinions and we'll never chage each others, no matter how much arguing we do.

2p, have you heard the smyrna coaches use "negativisms" as you say? do you know for a fact they coach that way o is it speculation? One of your boys from oakland is coaching over at smyrna. I promise you he never does that. I just wanted to know if this is true or speculation (cause you have been down on smyrna coaches/administration in the past) This is not a fighting comment for you 2p, just want to know if you have heard it.

please elaborate. Exactly what issues do "you" think need work? Be a little more detailed. The same broad statement could be made about any team.

watch the video on this play. your qb would have been tackled 10 yards short of the first down. the inadverdent whistle hurt smyrna more than wc. the qb was no where near " running down the sideline wide open."
