  1. SACDAWG, To answer your question about anyone else from Page signing: Motley (LB) from Page signed with UT Martin.
  2. Page High School in Franklin is looking to host a spring scrimmage on April 22. Anyone interested should contact Head Coach Alvin Palmer (615) 472-4450 ext. 3501 or Coach Charles Rathbone (615) 472-4730 ext. 3880.
  3. The tennessean article this morning showed how he WILL sign tomorrow with Miami of Ohio and become a Redhawk. Congrats to Elliott! All of the Page Community is thrilled and excited for you!! Article: http://www.tennessean.com/sports/localspor...ent_ID=46400980
  4. Page QB; Jared Elliott will either commit to Miami of Ohio or Miss. State?
  5. Anybody hear anything lately on whom they will hire for Independence? Why are they waiting so long to hire someone?
  6. It was made official today, Page High School named Offensive Coordinator Alvin Palmer head coach at Page H.S. This was the press release from the Page High School administration sent to the papers and County. Page High Offensive Coordinator Alvin Palmer has been named the new head football coach and wellness teacher for Page High. Page High Principal Dr. Andrea Anthony made the announcement today. Palmer takes over the head coaching position from Jackie Bennett who resigned from his coaching duties earlier in the school year. Palmer has coached football for the past 26 years. He started his career in Lincoln County as the defensive coordinator and came to Franklin High in 1991 to serve as defensive coordinator. He was the head coach at Franklin for six years. For the past two years, Palmer has served as the offensive coordinator at Page High while continuing to teach at Franklin. “For the last two years I’ve gotten close to the players at Page, and so now I’m going to completely make my home there,” said Palmer. Palmer has coached a long list of players some of whom with ties to the National Football League. Palmer coached Cleveland Browns quarterback Kelly Holcomb while at Lincoln County and Fred Lane while at Franklin. “Alvin comes highly recommended and his resume speaks volumes,” said Page Assistant Principal Tim Brown. Palmer looks forward to continuing his career at Page. “When I left Lincoln County I made a statement that I had deep roots but no branches, so I branched out and went to Franklin,” said Palmer. “And now I’m branching out again and going to Page.” Best Wishes to Coach Palmer and the Page Community!
  7. No decision as of yet on who will become the new head coach for football. However, rumors prevail as to who has interviewed and applied for the position. This job will be a highly sought after job. My guess is they will name someone after the playoffs are over with. The talent pool in the area is tremendous, plus your in a good school district.
  8. WesVol and company...are you suggesting a County Playoff tournament. Maybe, there should be a playoff between all the schools in the county. Now, that would be cool!
  9. It has nothing to do with more cost for the schools...it's probably more cost for Mr. Carter to deal with. It will make his job more difficult. If so, will he throw it back at the schools and increase dues? Can someone explain how this whole multiplier thing works?
  10. Here's my two cents: Fans -- Can argue all they want about the polls and who should be number 1. That is fine. That is part of being a fan. Players -- Forget the polls and Just Win!! All this nonsense about polls will take care of itself. Winning is all that a player should focus on. You have been given a task, follow through and perform at your best. The fans and polls don't win games, your hard work and determination in the game is what gets you there.

    Region 5 Class 3A

7-0?? I would like to think so. However, I don't think Creek wood gets past Pope John Paul. Montgomery Central will have their hands full with Fairview. White House and Greenbrier should be a very good match-up. Depending on how many players are hurt for Marshall County, I see the tigers winning but not by much. It seems that the Region 5-3A is more athletic from top to bottom than in years past. This should be a very good battle for Region championship. Here's some predictions: Greenbrier 24 - White House 17 Mont. Central 24 Fairview 21 Sycamore 34 - Harpeth 7 Loretto 21 Giles Co. 14 PJPII 34 - Creekwood 14 Marshall Co 17 - Whites Creek 10 Page 34 - Spring Hill 10
  12. Sacdawg, Thanks for the information.
  13. pageman...Great Summary!! It was a solid win for the Patriots. It placed them on the right track for next week's region 5-3A contest against a scrappy Giles Co. bunch. Jared Elliott Played well. The defense rose up against the warriors tonight. Tremendous job by the front 7 guys in stopping the the option. It look like the defense learned their lesson from a week ago against Grundy Co. They seem to be all over the QB and running game. I believe the warrior were held to under a hundred yards rushing.
  14. Page High School's Jared Elliott, 6'5" 215lbs. Should a force in region 5-3A this year. He has good leadership skills, great arm strength, and has greatly improved his speed over the off season.
  15. All the games on Friday night at the Williamson County Jamboree were exciting and fun. There is tremendous talent in the county this year. It should be a very exciting year for all the fans of Williamson County schools. Whether you are a fan of Centennial or Page...It was an exciting way to finish the jamboree with a last second score. No matter who was in the game, it was a thrill for all to see. It could not be scripted any better. Best wishes to all the teams in the county this year!

    The Tennessean

For the coaches who went to the Titans stadium a few weeks ago to meet with the Tennessean and its staff. They promised to have more expanded coverages in Saturday's paper and at their online website. However, it starts with the coaches getting them the needed information, such as, stats and rosters.

    Seigel H.S.

Any information on this new school in the 'boro? What type of offense and defense do they run? What kind of talent do they have?
  18. At least Page Has Lights and new bleachers. Heck, sounds like all the other schools in the county are in the sticks. I thought Williamson county was the richest county in the state. Where's the money going?
  19. Page has brand new bleachers on the visitor side of the stadium. There should be plenty of seating for those that wish to sit and watch the games. Best wishes to all the participants! It's time for football....Thank God!!
  20. splainshornet, Thank you for the reminder. It all goes back to what my mom use to say to me as a child "If you have nothing good to say about someone...then don't say anything at all."
  21. June 7, 2003 @ Vanderbilt I believe it starts around 8am or 9am and usually last to about 4pm. There is also a Linemen camp going on as well during that time. I believe it cost $20 a player. Call Vandy football office for more details.
  22. I'm not sure if the nflhs.com website will settle the debates of who is the best in H.S. football or just create more debate... Here's the link for who is the best all-time in High School Football. NFLHS has a listing of Team, individual, Offense, defense, etc of the ALL-TIME best in highschool football records: http://www.nflhs.com/news/records/ Enjoy!
