  1. This post makes much more sense and has much better taste than your first(although you basically said the same thing). If you had said it that way the first time, everyone, including myself and tenteam, would have probably agreed. No one ever said Gleason would win the region or go 10-0, they just congratulated them on a good start. Thanks for being honest.
  2. Butchie, I normally don't reply to posts on here, but I couldn't resist this time. This post you made was absolutely awesome!! All this time I've been thinking that Gleason had more athletes playing football than Lake County, Bruceton, McKenzie, and Union City. Thanks for clearing up the confusion. On another note, I have made the assumption that you are a long time Mckenzie fan. Let me say congrats on your team. You guys have a great program. Your coach is one of the best, you've had some really good athletes the past few years(Drew Hayes and Derek Carr are great quarterbacks), and the move to single A didn't hurt things. Either way, Mckenzie has a lot to be proud of in their football program. Rightly so. However, you the long time fan will be the first to admit that Mckenzie was a substandard football team for many many years, so you now how that is. Now, my question is this. How many football games have you won in your coaching career? Better yet, how many games have you won coaching a school with less than half the enrollment of its opponents? Substandard is a strong word. Especially when you are referring to a school, in your own words, has a lower enrollment and fewer kids to pick from. Based on what you say, the school with the larger enrollment and more kids is supposed to win. If you look at it that way, Gleason's record should be 0-9-1 (the tie is with Greenfield because their enrollment is almost identical). Seems to me a 2-0 start is overachievement, far better than substandard. On another note, for the past two seasons Mckenzie has failed to make it to the state championship while being one of the most populous single A schools in the state. I won't call it being stuck in substandard. That's your word. Now back to the point of this thread. Congrats to Coach Lampkins and the Gleason Bulldogs on a great start this season. You've already overachieved.
  3. That's not all he suffers from. Although his fan base on here continues to grow. The part I'm wondering is "when does he work?" Word on the street is that Wes is moving to Union City and gonna run for mayor of Obion County
  4. These sports writers at the Jackson Sun are a joke now. Ever since Jeremy Peppas left, the thing has gotten worse and worse. They probably don't even know it is basketball season. After Huntingdon's football season ended, the Sun's sportswriters have frozen up. However for you basketball fans, if you look deep enough into the basketball version of CRUNCH you can find the basketball box scores, IF THE COACHES CALL THEM IN, but you need to have a magnifying glass to read them. Jeremy Peppas please come back!!!! These guys are clueless .
  5. The Jackson Sun did a pretty good job when Jeremy Peppas was there. He worked hard to cover all sports and all schools in West Tennessee. Those guys there now don't have a clue. Do you think anyone has told them it's basketball season? Maybe Mr. Climer at the Tennessean should write an article letting them know that B-ball has started. Jeremy Peppas come back please!!!! Ever since Huntingdon's football season ended, the Sun's sports writers have frozen up.
  6. What happened to Coach Roch at Waynesboro? Someone please fill me in. Good luck to Coach Roch and his team.
  7. The addition of Tim Britt to the cheap seats next to WesCharge will help things. That puts another great basketball mind in the stands to help the Warlord. As long as FB Row is strong, and the WesCharge has plenty of Popcorn and Pukebags, Westview basketball will be fine.
  8. UC, don't pat yourselves on the back too much if you beat Gleason. You have more kids in the band than Gleason does in its whole school. Just in case you haven't figured this out, you better set your goals a little higher than beating Gleason, because if you don't win the state championship (not just the region), it will be an underachieving year for you. YOU'RE A VERY BIG FISH IN A VERY VERY SMALL POND NOW. No more excuses. Hey WesCharge, don't you think Obion Co. ought to quit worrying about little ole Gleason and take care of the teams like Gibson County? Maybe they're hoping they can eventually drop down to single A so they can win some games too. By the way. let UC operate on a single A budget for a few years they won't be able to afford the fuel to carry the football team to games, much less an irrelevant band that makes too much noise anyhow.
  9. When is the big golf match and is WesCharge involved? Don't bet too heavily on him, I don't think he can take the pressure. He's not quite the legend he used to be.
  10. You better hope you've got enough players left after Dresden gets finished with you.
  11. This is hilarious!!! You South Fulton kids are obviously doing all your posting during English class because you sure aren't improving your grammar skills. You are kids and kids have lessons to learn. A good lesson is coming your way Friday night. Please don't respond until after the game. But please respond after the game. I'll give you a little bulletin board material. You'll need it so here it is: South Fulton will not beat Dresden Friday night. Good luck though!
  12. When and where did Coach Bowlin accept another job?
  13. Spanarkle is the man for the job!!!
  14. The tool man doesn't want it?
  15. Spanarkle, Can you dance?
  16. You're all in BIG ORANGE COUNTRY you know.
  17. Have you applied or contacted them Spanarkle? Have they contacted you?
  18. I think Union City would be very wise to give Jonathan the job. (if he wants it) I have a great deal of respect for him. He will do a good job at whatever he does. Just my opinion. Does anyone know how interested Jonathan is in the job?
  19. I would like to see Spanarkle take the West Carroll job. He is a fine man and would do a great job with those athletes at West Carroll.
  20. I'm still alive. I can finally have a little fun now. I thought I'd see you last week, but I didn't. I hope to see you down the highway soon. It's about that time. I'll take one every three until May.
  21. You've said alot about Greenfield choking. Maybe they did. But, you also said you played for Adamsville in 93, 94, and 95. Congratulations. Those were great teams. I saw them and the Hoovers are good friends of mine. But, how many gold balls do you have? Oh, how many silver balls do you have? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only one came in 95. So are you saying that you choked also? 3 times?
  22. I do not know or care who acoachwife is. She is entitled to her own opinion and I respect that. However, I do know Coach Martin at Adamsville very well. He is a very classy person of whom I have utmost respect. I want to say that I am sure acoachwife is not his wife. He has way too much class and dignity to allow her and her attitude to reflect him and/or his Adamsville basketball club on this website. Coach Martin- you do a great job at Adamsville and have one of the best teams in the state year in and year out.
  23. I agree. Skogen is an excellent player. He can play all five positions on the floor.
  24. Hey Adamsville, I heard that the TSSAA might start having their tournaments with a best of seven series between each team. Then you'll win the state championship every year. Keep your thread going!!!! I thank the lord each day for people like lenny. They make dumb people like myself look a whole lot smarter.
