I figured that would be the response. But they still seem less scared than what is being portrayed on here by Bump11. They do bring in duals teams from other states for their tournament, but why would we consider that? It seems to me that other Tennessee teams would want a shot at wrestling against Cleveland and getting better.
It looks like you might just be kinda right. Allen TX did have the traditional championship wins together, but I did not see where they won both duals as well.
The reason it should make sense is that some regions are way less talented than say a region with Cleveland and Bradley (in the good ole days, not this year). I mean in regards to people complaining about the seeding after the sectionals were put in place. To me the sectionals were to eliminate the losers and allow more competitive state duals brackets (and time).
what I read was that there would be a winner slotted to compete against some predetermined position from some region. So, pick the regions winners and the runner ups , or however you want to describe who gets in and slot them.
To be honest, I cannot imagine that this would consistently be a good way to do it either. Or maybe I misunderstood what werasslin means.
I would like to see that demonstrated on this years draw. let us see what it would mean in real time versus what we have now. I suspect that this suggestion would sometimes work and sometimes not work, based on how well a team performs each year.
He said one person could not get something done. This was a pretty big deal when they changed from the Roundhouse to the cow patty palace, all because the UTC Mocs had an ESPN game and rolled the wrestlers right out of their tournament.
Same tournament we are talking about! okay, it is a reach, and great job calling me on it!
@noonesfool, you understand me. Yes, we still both visit the board and comment when appropriate!
@StarRaider Not a real Texan for sure. Heck, I do not even live there anymore, after 22 years of it. Great to hear from you too! Old Raiders never die.
Fully Funding......
that comment alone makes it easy for someone to say no to your question. Highly funded, probably closer to the mark.
It is great to hear that you hate the people in Cleveland.
I always find this kind of complaining about "recruiting" to be puzzling. Why does anyone care about where some kid chooses to attend high school? If the kid was going to win state at DB, then will he not still win it a Cleveland HS? Oh wait, the previous school should own the rights to that kids secondary school record and services.
Also, making a person sit out means what? I question the reason behind such a rule. It can only really be looked at as punitive actions against a teen age person.
