  1. I have seen South Panola twice, and they are very, very good. It would be a good matchup.
  2. ^DCA(top ranked team), CPA(2 titles in last 4 years), and USJ(always a contender and seems to have finally gotten enought talent to seriously have a shot) No teams in the East will beat Boyd. That is a one team side of the bracket.
  3. VERY good assessment DivePix. Couldn't have said it better myself. Hope to see you at the Den.
  4. I left in the 3rd quarter when it was 48-7, and it remaines that way until the final horn. -DCA scores 20 seconds in when they forced an FRA fumble and runs it 20 yards for the score. -After an FRA punt, Chris Wooden caps a drive by taking it 47 yards 3 minutes in for a 14-0 lead. -Chris Wooden finished with 10 carries for 104 yards and 2 TDs leading the ground committee. Junior Ryan Fields also had some long runs. -Quarterback Jim Fenwich had trouble running on FRA, but was 8 for 12 for 108 yards and a touchdown. - The defense got in on the scoring again with a 25 yard interception return for a TD and pushed FRA back most of the night to go along with the fumble return for the TD. Most of the Panthers 158 yards was on one drive. Wildcats brace for the huge matchup with CPA next week.
  5. Good, then they'll lose in the first round to a mediocre team.
  6. Ok, so I know take back my apology to the Boyd fans. Absolutely classless. And I repeat AGAIN. I have seen all three teams this year. Boyd wouldn't beat CPA or DCA. Boyd fans, at least the ones on this board, have taken winning thier first state title to their heads. When you win multiple state titles like DCA and CPA, THEN you can talk. And you won't be talking for another few years if you know what I mean.
  7. I apologize for anything that might have offended Boyd fans, and I was one of the first to congratulate their team for winning their first state championship. But they are NOT the greatest thing since sliced bread. I will even say that they could be the best team this year, but to undermine teams that have dominated Boyd for years until last year, when Boyd defeated a very young team that was absolutely riddled with injuries. And beating Goodpasture, who is down, doesn't make you a monster. It has gone to Boyd fans heads and they must realize that CPA and DCA, who've both won multiple state championships, have done that many times before. Again, Boyd may be the best team this year, and being the defending champs I understand the notion that they are #1 until beaten, but I wouldn't bet on it. Again, I have seen all three teams this year.
  8. Boyd fans seem to be underestimating the #1-Ranked team in the state, DCA. DCA couldn't beat Goodpasture???? Please. Goodpasture is very down this year and DCA could beat them just like CPA and Boyd. Boyd is the third best out of the big three: DCA, CPA, and Boyd. I've seen all three play and thats my assessment. DCA over Boyd in the Blue Cross Bowl.
  9. It appears DA has improved since I saw them get swamped by DCA 3 weeks ago. Was CPA just off of their game or is DA improved?
  10. Boyd wins 35-20. They are the class of the Eastern side of 1A football.
  11. The Tennessean Official stats for the game.
  12. DCAracks up nearly 500 yards of offense and wins 36-7 over McEwen in a game not that close at all. DCA Quarterback Jim Fenwich was literally perfect. 11 for 11 passing for 186 yards and 3 TDs on the night. Chris Wooden, again with very limited playing time, found time to rack up 109 yards on just 5 carries and 2 Touchdowns. Thats 22 yards per carry. The DCA defense again was impressive shutting down the McEwen offense until garbage time. DCA again played lots of subs and is very deep at the tailback position. With CPA on the horizon, DCA is starting to step it up.
  13. They can't help but play their own teams in their own region. And they along with the other 1A privates WILL be moving up next year. And Davidson Academy is no slouch. 3-1 coming into this game with victories over Cheatham County, Ezell Harding, and McEwen. They will be moving to DII to play with MBA, BGA, and Father Ryan next year. Very immature post on your part.
  14. Details: -DCA looked very crisp tonight(as crisp as I've seen them), especially on offense. -DCA used three main tailbacks against DA. Senior Chris Wooden, Junior Ryan Fields and Sophomore Tyler Acker. Senior Quarterback Fenwick also ran two Touchdowns. -I do not have final stats yet, but Ross Coffee, Davidson's outstanding tailback who rushed for 288 yards last week was held to miniscule yards this week. -DA's only score was in the 4th quarter on a Coffee fleaflicker with DCA blitzing to a wide open wideout who ran it in for the score. DA could get nothing going other than that score. -DCA opened up the game with an absolutely beautiful drive, including a long run by Wooden, two first down runs by Fields, and a touchdown run by Fenwick. -DCA's Drew Jackson intercepted Davidson Quarterback Justin Overstreet, and after a long pass from Fenwick to Justin Hall, had to settle for a field goal. -DCA then used a VERY well executed misdirection reverse on a punt return from Justin Hall to Austin Garrett who sprinted down to the DA 3. DCA then threw a TD pass to Hall on a slant in the endzone. -Wooden and Fenwick ran for 2 more Touchdowns in the second half to make it 34-7. Jackson had another interception on another fleaflicker try and ran it to the three with a minute remaining, but Coach Goodwinn had DCA kneel it down to not run up the score on a resilient Davidson team. Final DCA 34 Davidson Academy 7
  15. DCA could be missing Wooden again, and as the article said, they have many injuries so DA could definately make this interesting as they seem to be the third team in the region behind DCA/CPA. But DCA did beat Ezell 37-0 without him last week against an Ezell team that racked up quite a few yards against and nearly beat DA. It could go either way, but I think we are all hoping for a good game, as this region is getting boring for the first 9 weeks until CPA/DCA finally showdown.
  16. Rough time holding on to the football for NCS=NCS not winning. Simple formula. Congrats to CPA as well.
  17. Very heavy rain in this game. Here's how it went down: -Wooden didn't play due to the risk of the conditions to the knee I suppose. DCA didnt need him as they rolled to a blowout victory tonight. -DCA forced many, many turnovers. I didn't count one first down for Ezell as they were pushed backward all night after passing for 370 yards last week -DCA opens scoring with a 29 yard TD pass from Fenwick to Garrett. This came after a 25 yard run by the backup tailback, who also had a big game. -It was 21-0 after a half and 37-0 after 3, when DCA's starters came out. -DCA scored a safety by its defense and then returned the kick for a long TD to close the scoring. Good game by DCA without its star.
  18. Actually, I totally forgot about their game at JCS. JCS was strictly a passing team and was ranked #5 in 1A at the time. DCA forced 6 turnovers and ran an interception back for a touchdown. I wasn't at that game, but looked at the stats. Sorry, apparently they have been tested and passed with flying colors. But I am interested in seeing Ezell's young quarter back who threw for 370 yards and 4 TDs last week.
  19. RIGHT NOW.....CPA. I thought DCA would be farther along as a team after seeing one of their scrimmages where they were very impressive, but they are so very sporadic on offense. CPA has looked very good and is just playing better right now. Although DCA's defense IS better than CPA's from what I have seen. But, for now, I pick CPA. Oh yeah, and Chris Wooden isn't exactly the Chris Wooden that dominated the CPA playoff game last year. He is very ginger on that leg and just doesn't look the same. But they have an improved passing game and a good defense, which wins games, so who knows? Travis Sikes was simply amazing in the Riverdale game and has a decent height advantage on DCA's corners. Bottom line, their game on the 22nd of October will be off the charts. Hope to see everyone there.
  20. DCA's corners haven't been tested, so this game may be more respectable than one would think considering Ezell's passing game seems to have gotten untract. But there is still no chance.
  21. I was also at the scrimmage and DCA had numerous players not play including their starting QB and he has been 50% of their offense so far this regular season. A couple of their tailbacks also didn't play. I'm sure Hillwood had players not play and I'm sure Hillwood could beat DCA in a real game(although the scrimmage WAS played like a real game) and bottom line, DCA won 20-12. What I ment by that other post anyway was not that Hillwood couldn't beat DCA, I meant that NCS couldn't have won with Tiesler any more than they did.
  22. I doubt he could help NCS that much considering he didn't help Hillwood much when DCA beat them in a scrimmage.
  23. DCA was up 14-0 five minutes in. Two three and outs for NCS and two long drives in about 3 plays each for DCA. That has nothing to do with NCS hurting themselves. NCS still could have a good record. They could probably beat everyone else on their schedule except for CPA. They have definately improved and like I said, Vanatta and Jerkins are real players.
  24. DCA beats NCS 35-13. -A Nashville Christian cornerback was ejected for throwing a punch at a DCA wideout after a long reception. -DCA has several players injured, including All-Region Tight End/ Defensive end #1 and their fullback #33. -DCA's starters went out after three quarters with DCA winning 35-7. -Wooden had a few long rushes and 2 touchdowns. He has the brace off now, but still doesn't look quite like himself. He didn't play much in the second half and DCA, once again, used many other tailbacks to keep the burden off him. -Vanatta and Jerkins are great athletes. Vanatta broke an 82 yard TD in the 1st quarter untouched on a DCA blitz. Jerkins scored a late TD against DCA backups. -Fenwich opened the scoring with a 45 yard bomb and scored the second TD of the game on a 30 yard keeper. DCA was up 14-0 after about 5 minutes. -DCA still looks sporadic. Wooden fumbled deep in NCS territory and DCA looked out of sinc at times. Overall, I think CPA would beat DCA if they played today. DCA isn't very consistant and CPA has played better competition
