  1. Rhea County should be a good test for the Owls. They return most of their key players including a very good QB. I don't think they will be able to go 50 plus passing plays in Chattanooga without a holding penalty. (Refs last year were from Athens Association not Chattanooga) Nuff Said, should be self explanatory if you have followed football in this area for very long. I do not expect to see a blow out, either way. I do think the Owls have an advantage with their speed and quickness. "D" line needs to play like they did in the second half at Cookeville, Cut down on mental mistakes and penalties. I think Ooltewah wins 38-21.
  2. Last score I heard was 11-2 Bartlett.
  3. I heard Franklin Won not sure on the score.
  4. Games were rained out at Engel stadium and Red Bank Thursday night. Not Sure about Soddy. The games at Ooltewah are rained out today. I don't know about any of the other sites. It has rained in Chattanooga most of the night and day, I doubt they will be able to play anywhere today. Just my opinion not anything offical.
  5. The double play in the 6th, was legit, ball came off the plate, which is a fair ball. As far as the strikeouts, everyone is going to have some. It really doesn't matter who you have signed with, sounds like some of you are a little jealous.
  6. I know these guys have signed; Tyler Henry - Kentucky (RB) Kyler Burke - Vanderbilt (Ool.) Blake McDade - MTSU (Ool.) Hunter Hydas - Lee (Ool.) Kyle Clayton - Ken. St (Cleve.) Thomas Gray - Carson Newman (Ringgold) Kyle Heckathorne - Ken. St (Ringgold) Coty Green - Chatt. St (Baylor) Wes MacIntyre - Carson Newman (Soddy) Tanner Moore - ETSU (McCallie) Bart Roark - ETSU (McCallie) Without a doubt, Kyler Burke is the top propect in the Chattanooga area. He is listed as the top MLB propect in the state of Tennessee, top 15 in the southeast.
  7. IF this is true, he will probably go to work for Velocity. I think he is already involved there at some compacity now.
  8. I was standing less than 5 feet from him when he said it. I don't care if you believe it or not it happened. I didn't see any Owl player hit your QB, injure him, give me a break. I don't think we HIT him (QB) at any point in the game. Where was all that pressure we were supposed to be bring tonight? I don't agree with all delron says, but our defense definately changed with Monroe, we haven't brought pressure like we have been known for the entire season. It really hurt us several times this year. Tonight included.
  9. Less than 30 minutes between the two schools for you. I agree the Owls woke up Oak Ridge, and it was fun to watch. Too bad they can't seem to handle Farragut. Just you watch and see Oak Ridge tear a new one in the Ads again next week. Must be the match-ups. I hope to see Oak Ridge - Riverdale semi. No offense Cookeville, I just think everyone would rather see the rematch.
  10. I would like to comment on the PA announcer and cheerleader. I don't think they were the same person. The cheerleader, if he is an assistant principal is very sad. He made Farragut look really classless, and he further showed his lack of class as he road his motorcycle through our players and parents after the game. He called our players "Losers", which they were tonight on the scoreboard, he will be a loser in life. I too will be making a phone call to Farraguts school, and the Knoxville school board on Monday morning. I am not sure if what he did on the PA is against the rules and I don't care. What he did after the game was just plain wrong. A local police officer told me he is a assistant principal, the officer had nothing good to say about him either. This type of activity should not be tolerated by the school or its supporters. I do want to send congrats to the Ads football team you outplayed us again. Enjoy your win, good luck next week you will need it.
  11. We tried to schedule them and DB for Home and away this past year. Could not be worked out, they will keep trying. The Owls are not afraid to play anyone, including Maryville.
  12. We like being the underdogs!! Go Owls!
  13. Good game DB! I gotta give it to your players and coaches they never quit. Showed alot of heart. I think Ooltewah showed they deserved to win. For the most part Ooltewah controlled the line of scrimmage. Please Coaches, PLEASE scrap the prevent, it almost prevented you from advancing. Go back to work boys, Farragut is not going to be an easy game either. Here is your chance to avenge one of the losses.
  14. Once Farragut sees they DB game tape they will be licking their lips over our pass defense. DB would have beaten the Owls if not for several overthrown passes. #5 and #1 were toast several times. The Indians QB just could not put it on the money.
  15. Too Bad Billy Blount couldn't take those same refs that called the Ooltewah game with them to Sevier Co. Blount still had a much improved season, in my opinion.
  16. Good win guys! Time to head back to Kingsport.
  17. Yes, we lost to Soddy, score was 14-12. Ooltewah had two touchdowns called back, first half ended with the ball on the Soddy one yard line(huge missed opportunity), missed a field goal as time expired wide left. Bottom line we did not play well enough to win, to many penalties and mistakes. If we had taken care of business and beat Soddy all this discussion would be moot. Ooltewah would have been playing today not McMinn. If's and butts, Good Luck to both teams.
  18. What is the injury report on Oak Ridge? Did they get anybody hurt last week? Spencer got up slow a few times, how's his back. Same question for Farragut, any injuries?
  19. I have heard/read about your QB injuries during the year. Tough break for those kids. Which one is McCord? Who is left or can any of them return this season?
  20. I think William Blount/Heritage game will be better than most people think. Blount wins a squeaker. I also think Farragut will give Oak Ridge a very good game. They will get the Monkey off their back and win the region. Soddy will give Ooltewah all they want and then some. Owls will win by a TD or less. Bradley will lose to McMinn, sorry bears, another winless region campaign.
  21. Several years ago Ooltewah hosted Riverdale in the 5A Semi-finals they stomped on our OWLS logo in the middle of the field then they stomped us!!!!!
  22. Dobbs played last week and threw for over 300 yards against the Ads.
  23. If the Owls end up fourth, we will look forward to coming back up to your place this year. You might not like the outcome this year. You guys almost got caught looking past us last year, remember. Had to score with 2 minutes left to get the win. If we finish fourth we will gladly make that trip back to Kingsport!!!!!!
  24. Yes your right if they loose and Blount and Ooltewah both win they will be 3rd seed. I really think this region could go 4-0 against Region 1 in the first round.
