  1. You missed my cryptic message - The Wooddale thread had the comment about Millington torching the Tiger defense. Just thought I would tie it all together I don't know who claimed they torched their defense or what they meant by it but that was one of the highest rushing totals for the year for Millington between 200-300yds in some nasty conditions. So maybe they did torch the tiger considering the rushing yards but they could not score for various reasons and they still lost. Who cares it is past and we need to be able to score points whne we get in the redzone this week or we will be finished for the year.
  2. Whose the former NFL player on the staff? just curious
  3. Nice shot, didn't see it coming, but should have expected it from you, you remind me of the RB from Oregon.
  4. I don't think Webber will be dressing or playing this week.
  5. My thoughts about the game for Millington: 1. control the ball- 4yds and cloud of dust (patience) 2. Tackle well (wrap-up) 3. field position, kicking game 4. make Woodale drive the ball, no big/easy plays 5. test Woodales kicking game 6. No turnover, and costly penalties, probably should be listed first If Millington can do these things they will have a chance to advance and avoid as mo2vate stated the "walmart Whoppin"
  6. Not knowing anything about Indy, I do also think dry conditions will help Arlington. They need to be able to pass to set up their run. They have enough running game to keep most defenses honest and unless Indy can stop the run with 6 in the box there should be some throwing lanes open for Arlingtons QB to make some throws. Arlington needs some easy scores to get rolling and open up their offense but will grind it and play field position if needed. It should be a tight game (minus turnovers). I hope Arlington can get this one for West TN but i am a little nervous about the outcome.
  7. Are you saying that because no one is picking county schools? Arlington, millington, GTown, Cordova and most fans think none will win. That is pretty standard come playoff time.

  9. If Walmart didn't already dominate the retail market they would completely eliminate all retail competition if they would start taking everyone who stole from them out in front of the store and "Beat" them. I guess for all of us who would like to see something like that needs to come to the Woodale Millington game for a preview. lol
  10. I'm going to make the trek to Middle Tennessee to watch Mt. Juliet and Oakland. That should be the best game this week other than Farragut and Ooltewah. I hear Juliet fans are not happy with the draw against Oakland. Don't know the breakout in the pod but seems like a very good first round matchup.
  11. Breaking the huddle with 12 men is also inexcusable. How about breaking the huddle with 11 and then once lined up a sub runs out and replaces a player already lined up. What is that?????
  12. About time for you to focus you Independence and Millington to focus on Woodale, Both teams can win and have a chance to play each other again, otherwise no need to keep this thread alive. I've told you guys before that I'm not an Arlington fan. It's just too easy to pick on Millington fans. Perfect example...can't read, can't write, don't remember... Who are you a fan of this week?? Anybody you want to see win this week in the playoffs?????
  13. About time for you to focus you Independence and Millington to focus on Woodale, Both teams can win and have a chance to play each other again, otherwise no need to keep this thread alive.
  14. I don't know much about Woodale other than they are worthy of being a host in the first round. Millington has faced most everything this year and will not see anything new so preparation should not be a challenge. Millington needs to take care of themselves this week and allow the defense do what they have done all year and the offense to show consistency and patience. Woodale will formidable against the run but we cannot abandon what works for us and trust we can be successful. Our best players must get their touches and turnovers must be eliminated. We can advance if we don't beat ourselves.
  15. I hope you don't take my note as this being a potential upset game the wrong way because i hope you represent the West and advance. I don't know what Indy has but i do think they have the QB still playing that beat us in the Semi finals 2yrs ago so they have quality players on that team and they have also played what appears to be a tough schedule. Indy did run a similar offense to your team in the past but not sure what they bring to the table this year. Considering you practice daily against the spread it will not be something new to the players and coaches in this first round match-up. You guys being 10-0 need to get this one or we will never hear the end of it from our Middle TN fans, I hate to put extra pressure on you but that typically comes when you have a season like this even if it is your first real rodeo. Good luck
  16. Hate to sound like a hater but being shipped into an unfamilar Pod of teams and a Pod of teams that West TN typically has not performed well against, my Prediction is Indy over Arlington. Indy is 2 years removed from a State Championship appearance and the Seniors have been a part of what it took to get there.
  17. Millington, Arlington, Bolton, Cordova. What qualifying slot did Lawrence Co. get? They were not a wild card were they because they are hosting. Craigmont has speed and size but are not fancy in what they do. If they come ready to play you will have your hands full trying to score and trying to stop them from moving the ball. If you have a good defense you can stay in the game but you will need to have your offense working well to be able to score on them. I saw earlier that you were a wing t similar to Millington, Quick note: don't try to run sideline to sideline, you will loose, even though they are big in the middle and have good LB play the key to success is straight at them. There is success to be had and that was the only success Millington had.
  18. RobM, Are you SURE? Why do you believe that Coach Ingram will be looking for a job, in about 4 weeks? I agree with Rob , There is no way that Staff is coming back at UofM they are not a good football team and preparation seams to be one of the largest factors. I don't think Coach Ingram comes back to High School.
  19. Like find a way to get the Wing T into the championship game? Nice comedy, I guess you saw the wide open offense that won the 5A state Championship last year????? Double tight, 3 backs in the backfield, smash you in the face football= 5A State Champion I am not sure if you know this but it is typically better players that win games.
  20. It is just 9:00am and it has already rain enoungh that the players will need arm floaties just to keep from drowning. I don't think it is finished raining. Unfortunately the fans probably won't come out and watch in this kinda of weather. This is going to be some kinda of ulgy, maybe they should just determine the winner by who fumbles the least, Whose uniforms are the muddiest who knows it is just not going to be pretty. Millingtons backs will have difficulty cutting and so will Arlington receivers, I am so tired of the rain this month. Good Luck Trojans, i am bringing my snorkle and Life Guard certification in case i am need for a deep water rescue. lol
  21. Which Millington Fan picked the Tigers to win, I missed it during my read through???????? Cam6.... Going into the game our Trojans have to be considered an underdog. We have scored 1 TD in our last 9 quarters of football and that was in OT when we got the ball at the 10 yard line. Our D has played inspired football lately and I hope that we bring it the same way tomorrow night. But, without improved offensive output Arlington looks to win this one (14-7). I hope that I am wrong, and as you know, I will be there supporting our Trojans 100%. Go Trojans!! You are correct the offense has shown no consistency this season. Great one game awful the next. Great the 1st half awful the 2nd, it is about being patient and taking what the defense gives. we have been spoiled the last couple years with players that could break it open no matter what and this year we do not have those game changers. I think the Offensive line being youthful has a lot to do with it also. 2-Sophmore tackles since mid year, sophmore center, 2 senior guards, the o-line have been inconsistent but should be expected somewhat.
  22. Which Millington Fan picked the Tigers to win, I missed it during my read through????????
  23. If it's pouring during the game, Millington probably has the advantage. If the rain stops and the field is just a mess, I'd say Arlington's receivers would have the advantage over Millington's defensive backs because they know where they are going and the defensive backs have to try to keep up. You just really, really hope that the weather doesn't drastically affect the outcome of this game. Based on all weather reports i have watched , the weather will unfortunately have a "drastic effect" on every high school game in the area. Probably a little less efffect on the turf fields for those teams fortunate enough to have one to play on. It is what it is both teams have to deal with. These conditions will reveal other characteristics of good football teams even though the football being played might be very ugly.
  24. I believe the 2006 season was similar to this year where they 5,6,7 games played in rain or on completely soaked fields. It has been a while since it has been this bad.
  25. Topic definitely strayed to the BHS vs CHS but that is ok. It is raining like crazy today, another long continuous rain. These fields are already saturated and News channel 3 was calling for rain to come back Friday. Millington field took a good beating friday night and even though it is in decent shape you can expect a slop fest over there friday night. Traction will tough, stoping and starting will be near impossible. The only hope not to have a mud bowl will be if the rain stops today and does not return the rest of the week. Who has the edge in the probable "Mud Bowl"?????
