  1. We'll it's the day i have been waiting for. I have enjoyed hearing and keeping a close watch on the other classes but can't wait for today. I'm glad to see that Seymour held it down for East Tenn. last night. But anyway here are my first round picks: 1. In game one i'm taking the East Tenn. girls Greenville in a close one. 2. I've heard them talking all week and can't deny they are a quality team, i'm taking Shelbyville by 7 in the second game. 3. Columbia Central might be the Cinderrella story but i think the dream ends here, and Craigmont wins by 20. 4. In the final game of the night, one in which i will most definitely be in attendance for, I"m gonna take Powell in a close one by 4 over Brentwood
  2. Powell, in my opinion their two best post are returning and they are only losing 1 guard! They will definitely be going state again next year.
  3. There is one thing that most if not all of the girls you mentioned aren't doing right now. Anyone know? They aren't playing for a team going to state. That is very important when you think of the caliber of players needed on a team that goes state. Powell is going state and has a freshman in Caitlin Hollifield that has started some and if not starting has contributed greatly. I believe she is 6" but has some of the most amazing post moves i have seen from a high school girl basketball player not considering that she is a freshman. It will be a privilege to watch her play and grow into an elite athlete in her next 3 years. GO Powell!!!
  4. I'm definitely excited about thursdays game. I will be making the trip and hope to see a few other teams play Powell does have 4 dominating post players who can afford to hand out fouls and pound it inside. Look for Evander, (nickname for Holyfield) to show the state what caliber player she is. I'm not fixed on Powell blowing out Brentwood. Powell is not very deep at guards and could be in trouble if they get in foul trouble, even though Bartley is a tough player and handle the point well when Tera fouled out against Jeff. Co. I would line tera up against any guard in the state in a foot race including Cait. It might have something to do with the track records she has set but who knows? Cox is either on or off from the Trifector. Powell's overall defense is UNBELIEVABLE the guards will be gnawing all game. I hope they will consider their need to put some pressure on the ball because if i remeber correctly in the few games they have lost they have held off the pressure untill it was necessary. I know at the game at Oak Ridge they didnt press till they were down by 6. But I have faith in my Panthers and am praying for all the girls. I have not seen Brentwood HIGH play so I can't really say if it will be a blowout or not. My pick Powell by 5!
  5. Migi was not at practice yesterday and i dont expect him to dress although migi is the best defensive player i have seen. Cody Watts will split time with Hargis on Jones.
  6. Holyfield practiced yesterday, I dont know if she will be playing tomorrow though
  7. is it a normal game time? And i think Karns will win by at least 10 coming off a tough loss to us.
  8. jonah riggs from halls won the slam dunk contest with a pretty talented 360 and i'm not sure what the kids name that won the 3 point contest but he was from AE and hit 8 in 30 secs.
  9. Who do you guys think will take the dunk contest and three point shooting title this year? - Just so no one worries Powell will not enter a contestant in the dunk contest due to height and vertical restrictions.
  10. Our team (Powell) will make region but it will be a hard path. We have lost size on the insidel, but are a much more disciplined team than in the past few years. Our freshman look good and should have atleast one (Matt Hargis) getting a lot of playing time on varsity backing up Plumlee. It will be an upload battle but I will say we have worked our butts off this offseason. I know our discipline and hardwork will put us in the region. I can't wait untill the district 3AAA kicks off and I know that it will be one of the best districts to watch this year. Good luck to all!
  11. Clinton has a TOUGH district, with the likes of Oak Ridge, Karns, Central, Powell
  12. I don't thik Oak Ridge is a surprise at all, I expect great things from them this year.
  13. Does crossland coach at smyrna?
