  1. If they don't have any talent, they're in trouble. After watching them in the sectionals last season, I don't think that staff could coach it's way out of a wet paper bag.
  2. I was wondering who won the Andrea Flores sweepstakes. Didn't know Boone was even in the running.
  3. Earlier in the week, they had 4 out with the flu, including 3 starters I think. They were having to start 2 freshmen. Ramsey is still recovering from whatever ailment she had prior to the season. You can tell she's still not 100%. Talked to Coach Chambers, and he said she had lost over 15 pounds from her sickness. I'm not sure if we'll see her in her top form till after the holidays.
  4. One of the 8 remaining would be my guess.
  5. Yeah it's disproportionate, and that's even with baseball getting an increase this year.
  6. With the Hampton moving up, and the lack of talent at the MS level for Unaka and NG, this looks to be the last season of good, competitive basketball in District 1. Hancock and Clinch are coming over, but Hancock is just terrible and Clinch doesn't even play a district schedule. Cloudland will be winning every district game by 25+ after this year.
  7. I intentionally was thinking Unaka would have a punchers chance, but CF would pull away in the second half for like 34-20 type win. The rain though, really takes a lot out of Unaka's athleticism and speed. Idk, maybe it won't rain as much that far west?
  8. Hellsbells. If I knew you could get somebody kicked off of here, ol King woulda been history two decades ago
  9. Unaka has made a couple more trips down there since then if I'm not mistaken.
  10. Looks like crow is on the menu tonight. No pun intended.
  11. Exactly, and at full strength (or close to it) against Rockwood. Plus let's give WG credit, they're like a fine win this year, getting better as every week passes. You take that team that beat Erwin a few weeks ago and have them play SG again, I bet the spread would be larger. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them playing at Alcoa next week. I just am not that impressed with SG. I mean their D puts in some pretty decent work, but that offense has absolutely no identity.
  12. And that's exactly why I think GB wins. Even IF Unaka was more talented, they've been playing football on Stoney Creek for nearly 75 years. And they've never, ever, won a playoff game. Only ever had a legitimate chance of winning one 3 times. Thats a huge monkey to shake. More like a gorilla actually. I don't know if this bunch has the mentality to do it. I hope they prove me wrong, but I'm a realist.
  13. I mean I know it was two months ago, but seeing what Rockwood did to a Cloudland when they were still fairly healthy, I don't see how any rational thinker could see this game being very close. Rockwood by 20+
  14. My sample size is small, but from the Hudl film I watched earlier in the year, Oakdale and Unaka are quite similar. I'd say Unaka has a decent advantage in athleticism with better skill players, while Oakdale is a bit more physical than the Rangers.
  15. I think part of the reason, historically, Jellico was pigeon holed into region one because they used to have "closer" District 2 opponents in Powell Valley and Forge Ridge over in Claiborne County. Those closed nearly 20 years ago though, and they've been caught in limbo ever since. I hadn't realized WG was dropping down. They'll obviouslly be in Region 1. I still think Eagleton will have to be in Region 1, since there's so many 2A schools in Memphis this go around, so Regions 1-6 will have to be more spread out, theoretically.
  16. Well. I think there's two ways of going about it. Eagleton is going to Region 1, I think that's a forgone conclusion. With that in mind, move Meigs to Region two, but then that leaves 3 5 team regions in the East. The only other plausible explanation I can come up with is the just blow up that whole region. Send Oneida and Wartburg to Region 1. And then sort out the rest westward. I've been saying for years, if they can justify Jellico having to go to Cloudland for a region game, Oneida to Hampton isn't much more of a stretch. Especially now that Oneida doesn't have all their historical matchups as region games (Coalfield, Oneida, Greenback ect) holding them from going east to Region 1.
  17. I imagine Unaka potentially might be able to bust out a couple big scoring plays with their explosiveness, but they can't begin to match the physicality Hampton will bring for 4 quarters.
  18. There used to be some nutjob on here that used to say "in order to be the man, you gotta beat the man." Geeze that dude was a kook. But, he was right. So until OS beats Coalfield, Coalfield is the man.
  19. Oh no, I'd still give 5:3 odds of Greenback beating Unaka in round one. I do believe it's very possible Unaka could win though. I however don't see anyway Unaka goes to Coalfield and win in round two.
  20. A potential Unaka/Cloudland match up wouldn't happen till round 3, and would require Unaka to come out of Coalfield with a win in the 2nd round.
