  1. Actually this Ooltewah team is not small. White is playing in a position that he is should be on this team, but still has the ability to go out on the floor. Much like he would do at a college level. This is significantly bigger than last years team which White was the center. This year the Porter kid is the center. White is not a good enough shooter to play a 2 gaurd in college. He would be a good 3 man, but still not his natural position cause he has always played a 4 his whole life.
  2. Well the actual current rankings are... 1. Brainerd 2-0 2. Ooltewah 2-1 3. Soddy Daisy 2-1 4. Red Bank 2-2 5. Central 0-4 I think that District will come down to the wire. I agree that someone will knock off Brainerd along the way, because I just don't feel that Brainerd is as strong as they were last year. I think the two teams that have the best chance at doing that are either Red Bank or Ooltewah. I like Soddy's team, but I just don't like the way they match-up against Brainerd. Although they could easily prove me wrong and beat Brainerd. I believe that in this District anyone, even Central, can win on any given night that they take the floor.
  3. That was a district game too. Both teams would only have 1 loss. Soddy's coming to Ooltewah head to head. So therefore that would push Ooltewah ahead of Soddy in the District standings. Just stating facts.
  4. To bad this game is not for first in the District. Right now Brainerd is First and Ooltewah is Second and Soddy Daisy is Third. Even if Soddy wins they will be still be behind Ooltewah because Ooltewah beat them head to head. Even though Ooltewah lost to Red Bank, Red Bank already has 2 District losses. Yet, if Brainerd wins they remain first in the District until they and Ooltewah meet.
  5. Outstanding game. Cleveland's Colby Dodd scored 24 points from behind the arc and had a total of 26, while Alex Goldston had 15, and Charles Little only had 9. Emmanual Talley had 24 for Brainerd and Corey Sanders had 23. Brainerd trailed 62-57 with 51 seconds remaining. Corey Sanders hit a shot to bring it to 62-59 followed by a 5 second call on the Cleveland inbound. Sanders then dished it off to Johnathan White to cut Cleveland's lead to one point. Goldsten sunk one free throw on the other end, while Sanders came down and was fouled and made both of his to tie the game at 63. Brainerd then fouled Charles Little who bricked both of his free throws with 5 seconds remaining and then hit a wide open Darryl Ivery down the court who pulled up at the free throw line and sunk the game winning shot. One of the best games so far of the year.
  6. I think they are either 11-4 or 10-4. While Central is 2-7 or so...
  7. Doesn't matter who people thought looked better between Ooltewah and Soddy cause when they played head to head Ooltewah beat them by over 20.
  8. I was referring to Ooltewah dropping off the radar.
  9. He could be there to see White cause he can play a gaurd or 3 position in college. Or of course it could be Glab cause of his size but I don't see him at the next level. Brown could definately play at the next level, another possibility. But I actually think he was just there to watch the game cause he and Ooltewah's Coach Baker are good friends. Simonzander you say that if Central hits threes like they did against Soddy then they will definately beat Ooltewah? But yet Soddy still beat them after hitting 13 3's and we know about the Soddy - Ooltewah game. Seems to me like after the Ooltewah loss, most people have dropped them off the radar. I will be the first to tell you that Red Bank is one of the three best teams in the District and will beat Soddy next time around.
  10. I believe it is Randall Smith you are talking about. And Gomab he is a good player. He is maybe a bit above an average high school player. He is a good gaurd but not the best in the Greater Chattanooga Area.
  11. Could it be Cleveland, Red Bank, Ooltewah, Rhea County, or Soddy Daisy?
  12. This region really could be a toss-up this year. Of course you have Bradley who is the team to beat. Yet, after Bradley who are your top teams. It seems like any of the other schools can beat each other on any given night. So who do you think will make it to the Semi-Finals and Finals of this years Region. Can Bradley get upset somewhere? What do you think...
  13. I really feel like this Region as a whole is almost a toss-up. Of course Bradley is the team to beat and will more than likely be in the finals, but who would they play, is there a chance they could get upset. I say anything could happen in this Region and its up for grabs. It almost seems like any team can beat any other on any given night. I can't wait to see how this Region unfolds.
  14. Well Chill, Notre Dame didn't have anyoone come eligible or anything like that. It has just simply took time for these boys to mesh together. They went so deep into football that it has taken Lebron Caffey and Taylor Patton time to get in the swing of things at a basketball pace. Chauncy Thompson has gotten used the pace at a high school level because he is now one of their three key players. This team was even talented early in the year before they meshed. Falling to Ooltewah by only 3 and their first meeting against Soddy was close until Soddy pulled away late. They have talent, it has just taken awhile for them to mesh. Only thing they really lack is size.
  15. Just proving a point. White was the only starter, but Foster and Brown both saw some starts and significant playing time all year last year and even the year before. Murray and Porter were the only ones really trying to get it all together. There bench still hasnt meshed. And CSAS beat them twice. I know it doesnt mean anything...but just making a comment.
  16. Notre Dame has turned out to be pretty decent too. Good thing Ooltewah played them when they did or it could have been an L if they played them now. Notre Dame beat Soddy Daisy, Knox Catholic ( who beat Ooltewah) and tonight they beat CSAS (who pounded Ooltewah this summer).
  17. No matter who you match-up on any given night in this District it is going to be close and a tough game, and more than likely come down the wire. This District is really up for grabs. Should be intresting to see how it unfolds.
  18. Ooltewah didnt lose to Notre Dame, they lost to Red Bank. And I wouldn't call it surprising, Red Bank has a great team. You might want to correct that. Expect another close, tough District game. They are all going to be close in this district no matter what teams you match-up together.
  19. Well I had said earlier in the year that Red Bank would be the dark horse in this District. If you ask me after seeing that Cumberland County beat Cleveland, I think that this whole Region is up for grabs. Or should I say going to be fighting for the spot to play Bradley in the Region Finals. Everyone except Bradley seems to be even and neck and neck at this point. Nakona when we going to have another Top 10?
  20. Red Bank has a better team than most people think. Ooltewah played a decent game but in the fourth quarter they were not aggressive enough to get to the ball off a rebound or it came right to Red Bank. Red Bank hit several key three pointers and their bench was tremendous. I think that Red Bank is the most underrated team in the District. It didn't help that Ooltewah only had five people score, and those were the starters. No bench play whats so ever.
  21. Ooltewah had a 14 point lead at the half and even led by as many as 18 in the first half. Catholic was led by freshman John Aberham who scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half. Ooltewah fell apart and couldn't pick back up where they left off. However they did recover well beating a decent Goodpasture team 94-81 this afternoon and were up by more than 20 before the starters left the game.
  22. Biggest Rivals around are Cleveland and Bradley.
  23. Very good AAA rankings for Region 3 Chill. Will you be making it to any basketball games over the break? and if so which ones?
  24. The whole tournament is being held at Catholic.
  25. I saw where Catholic takes on Ooltewah on Tuesday Night the 28th of December. I know that Catholic has a pretty good team, and I believe it is Brett Conner who has been really hot lately but what does everyone else think of this match-up?
